Mary Jane Leonard
KINGSVILLE TOWNSHIP - Mary Jane Leonard, 71, a resident of the Ashtabula County Nursing Home, died Saturday, April 14, 2001, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
The daughter of Benjamin and Nellie Wimer, she was born Dec. 26, 1929, in Conneaut.
Mrs. Leonard was a member of First Church of God, Ashtabula. She enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include two daughters, June Wallace of New Hampshire and Joanne Sneck of Ashtabula; four sons, Joseph Kurey of Florida, John and James of Ashtabula and Jerry of Youngstown; five sisters, Florence, Cindy, Della, Rosie and Margie; two brothers, Roy and Benny Wimer; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Edna Bell; and husband, Joseph Edward Kurey.
A memorial service may be held at a later date.
Potti Lakeside Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, is in charge of the arrangements.

Evelyn L. Kobernik
KINGSVILLE - Evelyn L. Kobernik, 83, of Creek Road, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. He was born in Conneaut, Dec. 12, 1919, the daughter of the late Carl and Flora Parker Montgomery.
She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Kobernik was a licensed masseuse, receiving her degree from Great Lakes College in Cleveland. She was a dedicated assistant to her husband and son in their mechanotherapy practice in Conneaut.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in West Springfield, Pa.
Survivors include her husband, Claude L. Sr., to whom she had been married for the past 64 years, two daughters, Barbara Bartram of Ashtabula and Karen Dewey of Roy, Utah; six grandchildren, Claude Kobernik III, Gail Loreth, Rhonda Ludwick, Monica Folsom, Kristy Adams and Greg Dewey; nine great-grandchildren and three sisters, Harriet Klumph of Ashtabula, Marjorie Fergus of Finley Lake, N.Y and Elizabeth Tuttle of Cuyahoga Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Claude L. Jr., two granddaughters, Julie Sandberg and Tracy Dewey; two brothers, Elmer and Robert Montgomery; and three sisters, Hazel Rice, Eshter Battles and Viola Loomis.
It was the request of the deceased that her body be cremated and that there be no service or calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Envelopes are available at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut.

Nelma Clint
KINGSVILLE - Nelma Clint, 88, of Dibble Rd., died Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Ashtabula County Nursing Home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Ducro Funeral Services, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. Obituary will be available at www.ducro.com

Dorothy Kalinsky
NORTH KINGSVILLE - Dorothy Kalinsky, 75, of Forest Drive, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at her home.
The daughter of Willard and Muriel (Sanford) King, she was born Sept. 6, 1925 in Rome.
Mrs. Kalinsky worked at Camp Luther Church Camp in North Kingsville as a cook for 10 years before retiring. She enjoyed flowers, reading, music and attending Tom Jones concerts.
Survivors include two sons: David of North Kingsville and Michael of North Garden, Va.; one daughter, Cathy of Conneaut; one brother, T. Richard of Geneva; two sisters: Maida Ophoff of Geneva and Anna Russell of Ashtabula; and several grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; one brother, Howard; one grandson, David Jr.; and two granddaughters: Anna Marie Sage and Julie Mysyk.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Memory Garden Chapel, 3137 E. Center St., with the Rev. Peg Welch, of Conneaut United Methodist Church, officiating.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Dean Funeral Home, 3137 East Center St., North Kingsville.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County, 2420 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, 44004. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Margaret Benek
KINGSVILLE - Margaret Benek, 78, formerly of S. Ridge East, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at Inn-Conneaut Health Center.
Born Oct. 24, 1923 in McDonald, Pa., she was the daughter of John and Jennie (Lauff) Maga.
A Kingsville resident since 1960, she previously lived in Butler, Pa., and was a member of the St. Alphosue in McDonald, Pa., the Rebekah Lodge, and attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Conneaut.
She worked at the former Edgewood High School greenhouse and was involved with the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Committee. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening and canning.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Burkholder of Peachtree City, Ga; a son, Carlton E. "Ed" Benek of Conneaut; a brother, Jack Maga of Coraopolis, Pa; five Grandchildren, Katie and Kevin Burkholder, Desiree Lacy, Martin Woodard, and Christopher Benek; and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Benek, in 1993; two brothers, Phillip and Robert Maga; and her sister, Caroline Katouch.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 480 State St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville, followed by a time of fellowship at the Marcy Family Center, 180 Harbor St., Conneaut.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Ashtabula County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Robert W. Wadsworth
NORTH KINGSVILLE - Robert W. Wadsworth, 70, of Lake Road, North Kingsville, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Kalamazoo, Mich., the son of William F. Wadsworth and Eleanor A. (Priddy) Wadsworth Gondas.
A career U.S. Navy man, he entered the Navy as a seaman recruit and retired as a lieutenant commander with service in Korea, the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam. His military awards include the Bronze Star with Gold Star and Combat V, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Vietnam Armed Forces Honor Medal First Class with two stars, and several other medals. His duties in the service ranged from equipment operator to resident officer in charge of construction, writing Navy manuals and promotion tests, instructor, and company commander in a Seabee battalion.
For the most part self-educated, Mr. Wadsworth attended various night schools and community colleges, leadership courses, and engineering courses.
Following his discharge from active duty, he remained in South Vietnam as Operations Officer of Construction and Industrial Development Corp. He was then employed by Albion, Pa., as borough superintendent from 1972 until 1975, and from 1978 until 1981 as the city engineer of Conneaut.
Involved in numerous community activities, Mr. Wadsworth was a member of the Retired Officers Association, National Rifle Association, Conneaut Historical Society, Ashtabula County Genealogical Society, Living with Cancer Support Group, a board member and corporate secretary of the Villa at the Lake, co-owner of West Main Mini-storage, co-owner with his wife of Port Conneaut Properties LLC and TAP Properties, Inc., the Society of American Military Engineers, Toastmasters International, American Water Works Association, National American Legion, Ashtabula County Real Estate Investors Association, of which he was vice president, Ohio Real Estate Investors Association, president of HomeTown News Inc., Brown Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Alpha Omega, where he served as a plumbing instructor, former principle of Walleye Development Inc., Triple "R" Real Estate Investment, Co., of Geneva, and the Conneaut Moose Club.
Mr. Wadsworth enjoyed renovating houses and traveling, especially in the Far East, including Thailand and Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann (Sanford), whom he married March 9, 1984, in Columbus; four sons, David, of Martinsburg, W. Va., Mark and Robert of Bowie, Md., and Matt of Dunkirk, Md.; three daughters, Robin Martin of Leesville, La., Kris Wadsworth of Bowie, Md., and Linda Podgurski of Twinsburg; three step-children, Renae Ross of Santa Monica, Ca., Rick Ross of Columbus, and Eric Ross of Cincinnati; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brother, Don Wadsworth of Monroe Township.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Don Wadsworth and other family members officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Conneaut. Full military honors will be accorded Mr. Wadsworth.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to either Dr. Donald Anthony's Cancer Research Fund or to the Stained Glass Window Fund of the Villa at the Lake. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Nellie C. Williams
GAINESVILLE, Ga. - Nellie C. Williams, 86, formerly of Center Road, Conneaut, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Lake Shore Heights Nursing Center in Gainesville, Ga.
She was born July 2, 1915, in Pea Patch, Va., the daughter of Rufus Briten and Kentucky Caroline (Datson) Day and had been a West Virginia resident for most of her life. She lived in North Kingsville and Conneaut from 1969 until June 2000, when she moved to Gainesville, Ga., with her son.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a press operator for Trans Plastics.
Mrs. Williams enjoyed ceramics, gardening, and canning.
She was a member of the Church of God in Conneaut.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris A. Trout of Howe, Ind.; her son, Billy D., of Gainesville, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rufus Briton Day, Jr., of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben, on June 9, 1995; a daughter, Sue Trout of Conneaut; two grandchildren, Mark Trout and Danny Williams; one great-grandchild, Gracie Trout; three sisters, Roma Day Riley, Okey Day Williams, and Hazel Day Ruby; three brothers, Walter, Bougle, and George Day; and her parents.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Ducro Funeral Services at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 3137 E. Center St., North Kingsville (formerly the Dean Funeral Home), with the Rev. Raymond Lamb, pastor of the Conneaut Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
