BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP - Uarda J. Kovach, 79, of Bainbridge, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at her home.
She was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Ashtabula, and lived in Cleveland Heights before moving to Bainbridge.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Davis of Westlake; sons Warren of Wales, and the Rev. Raymond of Akron; grandchildren Elena Murphy and Ciaran Kovach; one great-grandchild; and sisters Flora Speer of Ashtabula County, and Josephine Osborne of Conneaut.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; a daughter, Cynthia; sisters Marguerite Brock, Helen Williams, Ethel Pelow, Mercedes Nelson and Mary Rath; and brothers George and William.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bainbridge Community United Church of Christ, 17751 Chillicothe Road, Chagrin Falls.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 S. Franklin St., Chagrin Falls; and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. to the time of service.

Sylvia E. Lehto
CROSSVILLE, Tenn. - Former Ashtabula resident Sylvia Eleanor Lehto, 87, of Crossville, Tenn., died Thursday, March 28, 2002, in Crossville.
She was born April 27, 1914, in Lawrenceburg, Tenn., the daughter of George and Mary Ellen (Jones) Martin.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin K. Lehto of Crossville, Tenn.; two sons, Donald Lehto of Northfield, and Lanny Lehto of Falls Church, Va.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Shawn M. Fiala
ELKRIDGE, Md. - Shawn M. Fiala, 26, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
He was born Aug. 20, 1975, in Baltimore, Md., to Ashtabula County native Howard Fiala and Priscilla Diane (Pickett).
Mr. Fiala was a member of St. Augustine Church of Elkridge, Md., and graduated from Cedar Lane School in Columbia, Md.
Survivors include his parents; sister Angela Maria Ward; brothers Gregory Scott Fiala and Michael Wayne Fiala; and foster brother Matthew, all of Elkridge, Md.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Frank J. and Mollie L. Fiala, and Ben H. and Leona S. Pickett Sr.
Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m. today at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Elkridge, Md. Burial is at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, Md. Calling hours were Sunday evening at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., Elkridge, Md.

Lawrence A. Woodworth
GENEVA - Lawrence A. “Woody” Woodworth, 85, of Geneva, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at his home.
He was born Feb. 24, 1916, in Geneva, the son of Homer C. and Lena (Chapman) Woodworth.
Mr. Woodworth was a lifelong resident.
He was an industrial installer for 44 years for the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co., Ashtabula Plant, retiring in 1982.
Mr. Woodworth served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II.
He married Ina (Wakkila) on May 20, 1944, in Fairport Harbor.
Mr. Woodworth was a member of the Geneva United Methodist Church; Geneva Blue Lodge 334 F & AM; he was High Priest of the Geneva Chapter 147 Royal Arch Masons; a member of Geneva Council 145 Royal and Select Masons; Commandry El-Kadir Grotto and Order of the Eastern Star Grace Chapter; and a past member of the Geneva Garden Club.
He enjoyed gardening, covered bridges, travel and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cora A. Walker and Leah M. Pitkin, both of Geneva; four grandchildren, Tina, Renee, Kim Pitkin and Donnie Walker and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt, Cora Chapman and his half-sister, Margaret Densmore.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, with the Rev. Hugh E. Hookway, Jr., of the Geneva United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ahti M. Orrenmaa
ORLANDO, Fla. - Ahti “Art” Michael Orrenmaa, 81, of Lake Margaret Drive, Orlando Fla., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001.
He was born in Conneaut and moved to Florida in 1959.
He was a member of the United States Coast Guard, serving in World War II.
Mr. Orrenmaa was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 766, Orlando American Legion 0286 and the National Association for Amateur Radio.
Survivors include his daughters, Diane Green, and Jacqueline Fecher, both of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Ellen Gee and Elizabeth Hedrick, both of Conneaut; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Betty A. Schoenbeck
GENEVA - Betty A. Schoenbeck, 78, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at Esther Marie Nursing Home, Geneva.
Born May 8, 1922, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Edward F. and Olga J. (Zieske) Berndt and had been a Geneva resident since 1979, coming from Cherry Valley Township.
She married Robert K. Schoenbeck on Oct. 11, 1958, in Cleveland.
Mrs. Schoenbeck was a homemaker as well as a bus driver for Pymatuning Valley Local Schools.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Kinter of West Andover; two sons: Ronald of Macon, Ga., and Karl of Austinburg Township; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Berndt of Mentor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1991, and her parents.
Service is noon Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 811 S. Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev. Charles Althoff officiating. Burial will be in Harpersfield Cemetery.
Calling hour is from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.
