Enrico J. DeVitis
GENEVA - Enrico J. DeVitis, 79, of Geneva died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 14, 1923, in Canonsburg, Pa., the son of Enrico and Ann (Lanzy) DeVitis.
He was a bartender in Pennsylvania.
Mr. DeVitis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Fraternal Order of Eagles, both in Geneva and Canonsburg.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his three sisters, June A. Barent, Nicki Costello and Martha Christie; and two brothers, Ben and John DeVitis.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated during the first week in October in Canonsburg, Pa., followed by a graveside service and burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in McMurray, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities Corp. of Cleveland, 1111 Superior Ave., Cleveland, 44114.

Dennis L. Griffiths
GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE - Dennis L. "Griff" Griffiths, 53, of Hawley Drive, Geneva-on-the-Lake, died Monday, March 18, 2002.
He was born March 4, 1949 in Conneaut, the son of Lee and Marilyn (Fox) Griffiths.
Mr. Griffiths was a chemical operator for 26 years at ASHTA Chemicals.
He married Cynthia M. (Turner) on Aug. 27, 1983 in Geneva.
Mr. Griffiths served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970.
He enjoyed walking, fishing, country music, western movies, playing cards and was a race car fan. He loved his family and enjoyed friends at work.
Mr. Griffiths attended Geneva Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include wife; five daughters, Julie and Deanna Griffiths and Verdeana Vacchelli, all of Ashtabula and Veronica and Victoria Griffiths, both of Geneva; three grandchildren, Alexandra, Gerilyn and Julionna; two sisters, Sandy Thress of Ashtabula and Judy Crites of California; and four brothers, Mike, Mark, Jeff and David of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Geneva Church of the Nazarene, 710 Centennial St., Geneva, with the Rev. Shirley Deemer of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.

Clara L. Runo
GENEVA - Former 55-year Euclid resident Clara L. Runo, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Geneva Health Care Center.
She was born Aug. 28. 1910, in Cleveland, a daughter of John and Julia Berg.
Mrs. Runo had worked as a nurses aid and dental assistant, but most or her married life she was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. William's Catholic Church, Euclid.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph, to whom she had been married 69 years; two daughters, Marcia Volk of Geneva and Jackie Wolfe of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a son, Donald of Kirtland; seven grandchildren, Jim, Rob and Mike Wolfe, John and Jim Volk, Kris Johns and Kim Robinson; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary, Celia and Olga; and three brothers, Edward, Raymond and Max Berg.
Funeral mass is 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. William's Catholic Church, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mark E. Hall
GENEVA - Mark E. Hall, 33, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born May 21, 1968, in Madison, the son of Harold Eugene Sr. and Margaret (Weisbarth) Hall
A 1986 Pymatuning Valley High School graduate, Mr. Hall attended Washington State Community College in Marietta. He worked as general manager of Dale's Geneva Truck Wash.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Panama conflict.
Mr. Hall enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, drawing, woodburning, outdoor activities, and socializing with family and friends.
Survivors include his brother, Harold "Sonny" Hall Jr. of Jefferson; five half-brothers, Phillip "Skip" Kuhn of Pierpont Township, William Kuhn of Elyria, Charles Kuhn of Grafton, Robert Hall of Geneva, and Tom Hall of California; and five half-sisters, Mary Vanderhoof of Conneaut, Dorothy Bledsoe of Andover, Millie Wichert of Marietta, Debbie Hall of Florida, and Martha Hall of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his step-mother, Sally Hall.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva. The Rev. John Pratt will officiate. Burial will be in Unionville Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Edward A. Brown
GENEVA - Edward Alan Brown, 48, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Country Club Retirement Center in Ashtabula.
He was born July 19, 1954, in Ashtabula to Raymond and Ruth Brown. He was a lifelong Madison, Geneva and Ashtabula resident.
Mr. Brown enjoyed fishing, the Indians, the Browns, WWF wrestling and playing chess. He also volunteered with Head Start.
Survivors include his mother, of Ashtabula; a sister, Judy Brown of Ashtabula; and a brother, Donald Brown of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Service is 6 p.m. Thursday at Behm Family Funeral Homes, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva. Burial is in Perry Cemetery.
Visitation is 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Hilma E. Jones
TROY, Ohio - Former Ashtabula resident Hilma E. Jones, 94, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at the Caldwell House Nursing Home in Troy.
She was born Sept. 10, 1907, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine Stenross.
An Ashtabula Harbor High School graduate, she was a retired bookkeeper and stenographer at Buffalo Press in Buffalo, N.Y., News Enterprise Association of Cleveland and Mabelle's Store in Ashtabula.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a sister, Martha Loufman of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Jacob Stenross.
Private burial will be held Thursday at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Ashtabula.
