Jacquelyn Whelpley
GENEVA - Jacquelyn Wray Whelpley, 69, of West Liberty Street, Geneva, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at her home.
She was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Geneva, the daughter of Mabel and Maynard Barrett, and had been a lifelong area resident. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Whelpley, Aug. 21, 1948 in Covington, Ky.
She graduated from Geneva High School and Kent State University with honors.
She taught and inspired elementary students in the Geneva Area Schools district for many years, and more recently worked for the Geneva Public Library.
She was an avid reader and storyteller, and especially enjoyed bird-watching, Cleveland Indians baseball, gardening and visiting with family and friends. She was also a member of the United Church of Geneva.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Randy, Rory, Roby, Ryan and Rodd; a granddaughter, Megan Whelpley; three sisters, Bobby Busse, Nicolle Picking and Rikki Barrett; and a brother, David Barrett.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter-in-law, Pat Whelpley.
Service is noon Saturday at the Kennedy-Billman Funeral Home, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva. The Rev. G. Reed Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church Music Fund or Hospice of Ashtabula County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Twila J. Hatch
GENEVA - Twila "Billie" J. Hatch, 88, of Geneva, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Rae-Ann Geneva in Geneva.
She was born June 16, 1912, in Crawford County, Pa., the daughter of Harry Ellis and Naoma Adelaide (Jones) Ross. She moved to the Geneva area in 1988 from Madison.
She was co-owner of Hatch's Sohio Station in Madison between 1933 and 1972, and also worked as a cashier at North Madison Food Market from 1957-1974.
She was a member of the Sorority Guild in Madison, and enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Hatch of Geneva and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence, in 1957; and three sisters.
Service is 2 p.m. Friday at the Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River St., Madison. Burial will be at North Madison Cemetery in Madison.
Calling hour at the funeral home is 1 p.m. Friday until the time of service.
Norma O. Perry
GENEVA - Norma O. (Wilshaw) Perry, 82, of Geneva, died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at the Austinburg Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided since 1999.
Born on August 13, 1920, in England, the daughter of George and Florence Wilshaw.
Mrs. Perry was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star. She was a former 30-year resident of Eastlake.
Survivors include her two daughters, Elaine (Douglas) Gryczan and Georganne (David) Rellick; four grandchildren, Heather Cairns, Natalie Rellick, Cathryn (Shane) Pacholke and Kevin Gryczan; two great-grandchildren, Summer and Alexis Pacholke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W.; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the Monreal Funeral Home of Eastlake, 35400 Curtis Blvd. (Just East of Rt. 91), Eastlake.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2003, at the funeral home.

Helen Kasper
GENEVA - Helen Kasper, 86, of Geneva, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, at the Rae-Ann Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 14, 1916, in Cleveland, and lived in Southlake, Texas, before moving to Geneva.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Whitsitt of Madison; a grandson, Mark Whitsitt, of Arlington, Texas; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Josephine Barnum and Sophia Payne, both of Geneva; and a brother, Frank Schultz of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kasper; a sister, Lucille Getzy; and brothers Ed and Joseph Schultz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison. The Rev. Luigi Miola will officiate. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison.
Philip A. Anice
GENEVA - Philip Angelo Anice, the son of Kathleen E. Powell and Philip L. Anice, was stillborn Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at LakeEast Hospital in Painesville.
Survivors include his parents; his maternal grandmother, Josetta Powell of Ashtabula; and paternal grandparents, Angelo and Bernadette Anile of Burgettstown, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Frank and Catherine Esposito; and paternal great-grandparents, Leonard and Mary Anile, and Fortuné and Josephine Fortune.
Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, Carpenter Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Paul Tobin will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula.
Evelyn E. Bliss
GENEVA - Evelyn E. Bliss, 81, of South Broadway, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at the Rae Ann Nursing Home in Geneva.
She was born May 20, 1920, in Painesville, the daughter of Edwin E. and Leona (Robbins) Herron.
Mrs. Bliss was a lifetime area resident.
She was employed as a jailer at the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Department and had been a nurse at Painesville Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
Mrs. Bliss was a member of the United Church in Geneva, where she taught Sunday school and was active with the youth.
Survivors include her step-son, James C. Bliss of Andover; a step-daughter, Mildred J. Bushnell of Madison; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, William A. Wholf, her second husband, Charles E. Bliss and two sisters, Rosemary and Eleanor.
Service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Kennedy-Billman Funeral Home, 323 South Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev. Robert Cunningham of the United Church officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Thompson.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
