Donald P. Ferron
GENEVA - Donald P. Ferron, 63, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at Ashtabula County Medical Center in Ashtabula.
Mr. Ferron was born April 24, 1939, in Green Bay, Wis., the son of Louise (Massart) and Peter Ferron.
He married Marilyn Crane on May 19, 1958, in Painesville.
He was a boat builder at Tartan Marine in Grand River for 20 years.
He served in the Great Lakes for the U.S. Coast Guard from 1956-62. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Geneva and a former member of Painesville Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping and sports, particularly the Cleveland Indians and Browns and NASCAR.
Survivors include five sons, Donald D. of Harpersfield Township, Daniel W. of Painesville, David B. of Hamlet, N.C., Mark P. of Geneva, and Michael L. of Ashtabula; 10 grandchildren; his fiancé, Nancy Thompson; and a sister, Evelyn VanDenplas of Green Bay, Wis.
She was preceded in death by his wife on May 14, 1993; parents; and two brothers, Willard and Wilfred.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 175 South Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev. Fred Grimm of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jefferson.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.

Richard P. Balogh
GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE - Richard P. Balogh, 69, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
He was born March 12, 1932, in Lorain.
Mr. Balogh graduated from John Carroll University in 1954.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille (Strong) Balogh; and his parents, Paul and Agnes (Urban) Balogh.
A memorial Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison.

Wallace Newton Field
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Wallace Newton Field, 73, formerly of Ashtabula, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001.
He was born July 16, 1928, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., the son of Newton Y. and Susan (Stevenson) Field.
He graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1946. After 3 1/2 years in the Air Force, he attended, and graduated from Ohio State University and Indiana University. He was retired from the University of Michigan.
Survivors include his wife. Hilda (Maury) Field whom he married in 1977; sons, Mark and Thomas Maury; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Brianna and Madelyn Maury; and a sister, Peggy Mosier of Zenia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter and a sister, Kathleen A. Rinto.
NIE Funeral Home in Ann Arbor was in charge of arrangements.
Marie Y. Duruttya
GENEVA - Marie Y. Duruttya, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 at HCR Manor Care in Cleveland. She was a resident of Geneva.
Born April 20, 1920 in Heiligenkreuz, Austria, she was the daughter of Leo and Marie (Haider) Schwarzenecker.
Mrs. Duruttya was a home maker. She also cleaned houses and enjoyed rose gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Nick of Mentor and David of Geneva; three daughters, Rosie Mah of California, Margaret Hoag of Mayfield, and Nancy Cerillo of Virginia; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Theresa Walker of Burton.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nick; her parents; a sister Josephine Frances.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Eastwood Street, Geneva. The Rev. Paul Tobin of the Assumption Church, Geneva, will officiate.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Society and the Alzeimers Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Gertrude E. Smith
GENEVA - Gertrude E. Smith, 87, died Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Inn-Madison.
She was born July 14, 1913, in Saybrook, the daughter of Otto K. and Altine M. (Allcock) Hass. She had lived in Geneva since 1949.
She married Steven Smith June 27, 1937 in Saybrook.
Mrs. Smith worked as a schoolteacher for 30 years in the Geneva City Schools before retiring in 1978. She also taught in the Ashtabula and Saybrook schools and attended Bowling Green State University.
She was a member of the Ashtabula County Retired Teacher's Association, the State Retired Teacher's Association, and Geneva Study Club. She was also a member of the Grace Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Marcia L. Lewis of Mentor; a son, David K., of Los Lunas, N.M.; two grandchildren, Laura Ann and Angela Hinshaw; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1998; her parents; a sister, Jeanette Eskelin; and two brothers, Everel and Hubert Hass.
Service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva. The Rev. Harry Pishcura of the New Life Assembly of God, Geneva will officiate. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery in Monroe Township.
