Selma O. Herrmann
JEFFERSON - Selma O. Herrmann, 91, of South Market Street, Jefferson, died late Saturday evening, Sept. 30, 2000, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Warren.
She was born Dec. 28, 1908, in Denmark Township, the daughter of Perry and Hilma (Lindeberg) Svenson, and had lived in the Jefferson area her entire life.
She married Milford J. Herrmann on Oct. 14, 1933, in Denmark Township.
She was a member of the Denmark Grange and the First Baptist Church, where she was active in the Nettie Hacket Circle and the Win-a-Couple Sunday school class. She also was church organist for 30 years.
She enjoyed reading, playing the piano and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Carroll L. Herrmann of Warren; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1984; two sons, Lynn M. and Carl W. Herrmann; three sisters, Anna Evans, Olga Aikin and Esther Ryder; and two brothers, Lawrence and Carl Svenson.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, 85 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. The Rev. William L. Offutt will officiate. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.

James P. Silver
JEFFERSON - James P. "Jay" Silver, 56, of South Chestnut Street, was found dead Sunday, May 12, 2002, in Butler, Pa.
Mr. Silver was born April 10, 1946, in Burnsville, N.C., the son of Claude and Madge (Rathburn) Silver.
He had been a Jefferson resident for the past 35 years.
He was a dry wall finisher with Lake City Home Builders and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelley L. Silver and Kristina J. Pascarella of Jefferson; his former wife, Betty J. Silver of Jefferson; his mother, Madge McMahan of Burnsville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Kayla and Caleb Harris and Hailey Pascarella; and a brother, Vance of Nashville, Tenn.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. John Young of the Jefferson Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pauline M. Sajevic
JEFFERSON - Pauline M. Sajevic, 91, of West Satin Street, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2003, in the Hospice unit at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born April 2, 1911, in Euclid, the daughter of Vincent and Anna (Terbanc) Peskar, and move to Jefferson from Euclid in 1972.
She worked as a seamstress for many years at the Richmond Brothers clothing store.
She married Alphonse J. Sajevic on July 1, 1933, at St. Christine Church in Euclid.
She was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, the Euclid Progressive Slovenian Women and St. Cyril Methodius Lodge 191 in Euclid and was formerly active at the Recher Hall Slovenian Home in Euclid, the Jefferson Senior Center and the Jefferson Golden Agers.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Ann Boyle of Ashtabula, and Jacquelyn Heath of Jefferson; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Molly Primozic of Mentor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1989; a son, Alan George Sage, in 1984; a brother, Vincent Peskar; and three sisters, Julia Strancar, Anna Zimperman and Mary Lavrencic.
A memorial Mass will take place 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson. The Rev. Stephen Wassie will officiate. Cremation occurred at the Care Group Cremation Center.
No calling hours will be observed.

Arlene M. Frampton
JEFFERSON - Arlene M. Frampton, 74, of Beech Street, died Monday, June 3, 2002, at the Jefferson Geriatric Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Ashtabula County, to Reed and Cora (Bowdler) Van Allen. She was a lifetime area resident.
Mrs. Frampton loved bingo, gardening and sewing.
Survivors include sons Ben of Kent, Jack of Phoenix, Ariz. and Dennis of Kingsville; daughters Jean Gaines of Ashtabula, Sue Perez of Jefferson and Sheri Gonzalez of Ashtabula; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene in 1989, sons Ford and Mark, great-granddaughter Whitney Nicole Maxwell, and brothers Richard Van Allen, Buddy Van Allen and Robert Van Allen.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, officiated by the Rev. Stephen Long of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial is in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.

Theresa Jeanette Enstrom
JEFFERSON - Theresa Jeanette Enstrom, 72, of Lenox New-Lyme Road, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
Born on October 19, 1930, in Cleveland, OH, she was the daughter of George Raymond and Myrtle Janice (Bunch) Lexington and has been a resident of Jefferson for several years after moving from Battle Creek, MI.
She enjoyed leather crafts, crocheting, and woodcrafts.
Survivors include son Robert and wife Maricel Enstrom and their three children, Thomas, Joseph and Rachael Enstrom, who is stationed in Japan while serving in the Navy; and a sister, Gloria Goodwin of Battle Creek, MI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Charles Enstrom, in November 1997.
Special thanks to the family and friends who have assisted her since her move to Ohio.
A Memorial Service will take place at a later date at The Potter's House United Pentecostal Church in Battle Creek, MI, with Rev. Mark Hopper officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.

Mary L. Speaker
JEFFERSON - Mary L. Speaker, 95, of Jefferson, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at the Jefferson Geriatric Center, where she had been a patient for the past 15 months.
She was born May 23, 1907, in Lenox Township, the daughter of Ira W. and Clara (Askue) Leonard and had been a resident of Ashtabula County all her life, living in Jefferson for more than 60 years.
Mrs. Speaker married Clarence E. Speaker on Oct. 14, 1927, in Ripley, N.Y.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, reading and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris L. Kuncz of Jefferson, and Darlene S. Perkins of Atlanta; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1983; a brother, William Leonard; and three sisters, Frances Dewey, Florence Van Tassell and Vivian Duncan.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. William L. Offutt of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
