Virginia Reuschling
JEFFERSON - Virginia Reuschling, 73, of West Cedar Street died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Reuschling was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Calvin and Carol (McCoy) Hayes. She had been a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of Jefferson High School, she retired after working for more than 30 years at General Electric Co. as a quality control agent.
Mrs. Reuschling enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, shopping, playing cards, bird watching and flowers.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert Jr. of Jefferson and Dick of Charlottesville, Va.; a daughter, Mary Collins of Hendersonville, N.C.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Greg Hayes of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Reuschling Sr., in 1998, whom she married Sept. 19, 1947, at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church in Jefferson; and by her parents.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ducro Funeral Services - Jefferson Home, 17 N. Market St., Jefferson. The Rev. Brian Wright, associate pastor of First Assembly of God, will officiate.
Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

James H. Smith
VERNON, Fla. - James H. Smith, 78, of Pioneer Road, died Friday, May 10, 2002, in the Hospice Unit at Ashtabula County Medical Center after being admitted Monday.
He was born May 12, 1923, in Lenox Township, the son of William and Dora (Askue) Smith and had been a resident of the Jefferson area all of his life before moving to Vernon, Fla., in 1971.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Subic Bay, the Philippines, during World War II.
He was an electrical instructor for 15 years at Washington-Holmes Technical Center, Chipley, Fla., retiring in 1987.
Mr. Smith previously owned Smith Brothers Construction with his brother, Harry, and was former director of the Dorset Milk Co.
He was always involved with farming.
Mr. Smith was a former member of First Baptist Church, Jefferson; was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Chipley, Fla., and the Washington County & Florida Farm Bureaus.
Survivors include his wife, Norma J. (Robinson) Smith, whom he married Sept. 15, 1990, in Vernon; four sons, Gary L. of Dorset Township, James “Ted” of Dothan, Fla., Steven P. and Christopher J. of Vernon; five grandchildren; and a brother, Thomas E. of Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joyce R. (Gochneaur) in 1990; four brothers, Harold M. in 1976, Harry R. and William K., in 1995 and Ithiel A., in 1997; and three sisters, Dora Mae Smith, in 1985, Alice E. Chapman, in 1989 and Mary E. White, in 1995.
A service was held Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church, Chipley, Fla. Burial was in Vernon City Cemetery.
The Brown Funeral Home, 1068 Main St., Chipley, Fla., was in charge of Florida arrangements.
A local memorial service is set for 11 a.m. May 18 at the First Baptist Church, 85 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. William L. Offutt officiating.

Frank Lambert Jr.
JEFFERSON - Frank Lambert Jr., 58, of Route 307 died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Dony, Ky., the son of Frank and Lillie (Jones) Lambert and had been an area resident most of his life.
Mr. Lambert had been working as a dispatcher for Domino Logistics for the past three years and was a truck driver for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed driving trucks, western movies, animals and country music.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne (Laskowski) Allen-Lambert, whom he married April 22, 2002; three sons, Frank III of Hartsgrove Township, Bill of Ashtabula, and Scott of Rome; two stepsons, Jimmie Tucker Jr. of Ashtabula and Ronald Tucker of Rowlett, Texas; two stepdaughters, Debbie Wallace of Garland, Texas, and Connie Fullen of Ashtabula; 17 grandchildren; ; three great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Corene Sagle of Columbus, Margaret Bentley and Margeline Mitchell of McDowell, Ky., and Jean Keton and Ann Johnson of Ashtabula; and four brothers, Kilmer, Kent, and Randy of Ashtabula and Tony of Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Nicky, and his parents.
Service is 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Ducro Funeral Services – Jefferson Home, 17 N. Market St., Jefferson, with his brother, the Rev. Kilmer Lambert of the Church of the Living God, officiating. Burial will be in Eagleville Cemetery, Austinburg Township.

J.T. Robinson
EFLAND, N.C. - J. T. Robinson, 69, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in Duke University Medical Center.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1931, the son of John and Eva Nevelee (Fellows) Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was a 1950 graduate of Weston High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Navy, from 1952 until 1956.
Mr. Robinson lived in Ashtabula from 1958 until 1985, when he moved to North Carolina.
He retired from the Durham Public Schools System, Durham, N.C., in January of 1997. He served as ground maintenance group supervisor.
While Mr. Robinson lived in Ashtabula he worked in Jefferson at the Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School from 1978 to 1985.
He spent his years retired traveling with his wife of 25 years, Shirley A. Budd, whom he married on Dec. 10, 1976.
Survivors include his wife; son, Jay T.; six daughters, Kathleen Burgett, Reitha Smith, Ruth Ayers, Nancy Bates, Patricia Greenlief and Tammy Pogue; four step-sons, Michael, Edward, Mark and Russell Hunt; two step-daughters, Rhonda Cole and Jacqueline Whitlock of Ashtabula; 26 grandchildren; six great-grandsons; three brothers, Jimmie Robinson and James and Edward Budd; six sisters, Marcella Cannon, Willanna Robinson, Norma Britton, Roberta Kern, Mary Reynolds and Eileen Martin.
Service and burial of Mr. Robinson's ashes will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the St. Joseph Cemetery, with Rev. Donald Johnson of the St. Joseph Church officiating.

Francis L. Park
JEFFERSON - Francis L. "Buzz" Park, 78, of Route 307 East, Jefferson, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, after an eight-month battle with cancer.
He was born July 29, 1922, in Warren, the son of Orra L. and Grace M. (Farqhar) Park.
Mr. Park has lived in Austinburg Township and Jefferson most of his life.
He was a graduate of Austinburg High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, including the Normandy Invasion. He married Marilyn A. (Harvey) Dunford on April 14, 1973, in Jefferson.
He was a 35-year employee of Union Carbide, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene; a 25-year member of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department and the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Park was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, trapping and going to air shows.
Survivors include his wife; eight children, Connie Rae Taylor of Ocoee, Fla., Donna Lee Wolff of Tampa, Fla., Sandra L. Lendzian, Cheryl G. Shelatz and Rick E. Park, M. Randall Park, Denise P. Kapferer and Jeff W. Park, all of Jefferson; three step-children, Sherry A. Martin and Cary A. Dunford of Jefferson and Scott O. Dunford of Thompson Township; 29 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers; Leslie of Dunedin, Fla., Eugene of Jefferson; and a sister, Betty Williams of Dunedin, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Church of the Nazarene, 55 E. Satin St., Jefferson, with the revs. Kevin Angel and Richard Wright officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Jefferson.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.

Betty V. Cook
SPRINGFIELD - Former Ashtabula resident Betty V. Cook, 83, of Springfield, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at the Ohio Masonic Home of Springfield where she had resided since April 2000.
She was born Oct. 17, 1917, in Rock Creek, the daughter of Mood and Bessie Bender.
Mrs. Cook and her husband, Harland Cook, moved to Bradenton, Fla., and then to Lakeland, Fla., from Ashtabula. They were in the mobile home business before their retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Metzger; nieces, Barbara Hacker of Hartsgrove and Virginia Burgwin of Ashtabula; and nephews, Cart Lee of Newark and Calvin Lee of Jefferson.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union Cemetery in Rock Creek.
