Helen M. Grady
EUSTIS, Fla. - Helen M. Grady, 82, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at Waterman Hospital, Eustis, Fla.
She was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Hubbard, the daughter of Michael and Anna (Paulson) Yohman.
Along with her husband, Gerald, she owned and operated the Rosey O'Grady Antique Shop, Madison. She also worked with children while living in Florida.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Larry Quickel Jr., of Perry, and Terri Bartle of Eustis, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters in the Youngstown and Hubbard areas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two daughters Florence Marie and Betty Anne.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Kennedy-Billman Funeral Home, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev. Dean Roush officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Forrest E. Huser
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Forrest E. Huser, 78, formerly of Rock Creek, died Sunday, April, 14, 2002, at the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
He was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Rock Creek, the son of Owen and Cora (Alford) Huser.
Mr. Huser graduated from Rock Creek High School in 1942, and was a resident of Ashtabula County for 65 years before moving to North Myrtle Beach in 1988.
He worked as a chemical operator at SCM Corp., retiring in 1988.
Mr. Huser retired as a staff sergeant from the U.S. Army and was a member of the Ashtabula Post #943 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the 790th Military Police Co. B.
He was also a member of the Rock Creek Masonic Lodge Triandria 790.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Janice (Gowdy); a son, Mark J., of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jeremy Paul, Michele L. and Ryan E. Huser; and a sister, Pauline Makar of Austinburg Township.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Kevin Paul and Darren S.; and a sister, Pauline Mausling.
A Masonic service will be observed at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Fleming Funeral Home, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, followed by calling hours from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Gordon Emerson, lay pastor of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsville Cemetery, Austinburg Township.
Dorothy Sandison
JEFFERSON - Dorothy Sandison, 86, of Jefferson, died Friday, August 15, 2003, at the Jefferson Geriatric Nursing Center.
Born December 10, 1916, Cleveland, OH, the daughter of Stephen and Anna (Sueal) Kohanik.
She worked for Halle Brothers Department store; as an assistant buyer, coordinated fashion shows and worked in the advertising department. She also worked in advertising for LaSalles in Toledo.
She married George P. Sandison, November 9, 1946.
She resided 21 years in the Sarasota-Bradenton, FLA area.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, was fond of animals and her dog Lady.
Survivors include a daughter Jean Sandison of Jefferson and a sister Alexandra Weeda of Olmstead Twp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, her son James, and a sister Ruth Spach.
Mrs. Sandison will be inurned with her husband and son in the Columbarium in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
A private service will be held.
In her memory contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Road, Ashtabula, OH 44004.

June V. Jeppe
JEFFERSON - June V. Jeppe, 86, former resident of Route 46 north, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center after being admitted from the Country Home in Jefferson where she resided.
She was born May 4, 1916 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Paul M. and Clara M. (Lloyd) Laughlin and was a resident of Ashtabula before moving to Jefferson in 1955.
She married Henry G. Jeppe July 26, 1942, at the First Christian Church in Ashtabula.
Mrs. Jeppe was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, where she formerly sang in the choir and was active in the United Methodist Women and always participated in the church bazaar.
She always volunteered and assisted others, was a Gray Lady at the hospital for many years, was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader when her children were growing up, was a seamstress, enjoyed knitting, reading and flower gardening.
Survivors include her three children, Patricia J. Nowack of Lexington, Ky., William H. Jeppe of Hockessin, Del. and David G. Jeppe of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry, in 1999; and a brother, Richard Laughlin.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., with the Rev. Meredith Coleman and Gordon Emerson, lay pastor, both of the church officiating.
Cremation took place at the Care Group Cremation Center.
No calling hours will be observed.

Joan L. Wright
JEFFERSON - Joan Louise Wright, 70, of Pinney Topper Road, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002.
Mrs. Wright was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Saegertown, Pa., the daughter of William and Margaret (Gretler) Jensen. She married Marvin Wright on March 10, 1951.
She played high school basketball, was a cheerleader for the boys basketball team, and enjoyed roller-skating and Girl Scouts.
She also enjoyed camping, boating and crafting.
Mrs. Wright was a Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader and homeroom mother for all five children. She also was a 36-year member of Plymouth United Methodist Church, where she held several offices.
She cared for many newborns and did countless hours of baby-sitting. She said rocking babies was her favorite thing to do.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin; four daughters, Susan Smith of Austinburg, Judy Meier of Kingsville, Nancy Wright of Ashtabula, and Robin Wright of Espyville, Pa.; a son, Kevin Wright of Ashtabula; eight grandchildren, Kasha, Brian, Russell, Gary, Kelly, Eric, Sally and Laura; two brothers, Richard Jensen of New Jersey and Roderick Frazier of Meadville, Pa.; and a sister, Bonnie Adsit of Meadville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at Plymouth United Methodist Church, 970 Plymouth Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Vernon Palo, pastor, officiating. The Rev. Betsy Schenk will assist.
No calling hours will be observed.

Victoria A. Sarna
JEFFERSON - Victoria A. Sarna, 86, of East Jefferson Street, died early Wednesday morning at the Jefferson Geriatric Center, where she had lived the past 6 1/2 years.
She was born May 23, 1916, in Cleveland, the daughter of Joseph and Victoria (Kapelko) Malec and moved to Jefferson from Garrettsville in 1949.
She married Joseph F. Sarna June 20, 1936, at St. Edwards Church in Parkman. For several years she spent her winters in Florida.
She was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
Survivors include six children, Donald E. Sarna of Jefferson, James J. Sarna of Amarillo, Texas, Dorothy J. Saurer of Santee, Calif., Nancy G. Budd and Angelina M. Kidner, both of Ashtabula, and Joanne G. Placek of Jefferson; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Malec of Tustin, Calif., and Steve Malec of Largo, Fla.; and a sister, Mary Groborchik of Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Vera Hurchanik.
A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson. The Rev. Stephen Wassie will officiate. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with a prayer service at 8:45 p.m.
