K. Sue Mellon
JEFFERSON - K. Sue Mellon, 56, of Fairway Drive, Jefferson, died early Tuesday morning, March 19, 2002, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 22, 1945, in Pontiac, Mich., and moved to Jefferson nine months ago from Rochester Hills, Mich.
A licensed practical nurse, she married Lee J. Mellon on Sept. 1, 1970, in Flint, Mich.
She was a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout and Boy Scout den mother in Virginia. She enjoyed crafts, needlepoint and visiting yard sales and flea markets.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Lee D. Mellon of Ashburn, Va.; a grandson, Reed Mellon; a sister, Dorothy Haden of Rancho Cucamon, Calif.; and a brother, Don Ashbaugh of Atlanta, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley Reed.
Service is 10 a.m. Friday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. The Rev. Stephen Wassie, of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, will officiate. Cremation will follow at the Care Group Cremation Center.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Edward G. Flack
JEFFERSON - Edward G. Flack, 75, of N. Spruce St., Jefferson, died early Sunday morning at the Jefferson Medical Associates (Geriatric Center) after being admitted the previous day.
He was born June 15, 1928 in Cherry Valley Twp., the son of Arthur & Frances (Hedrick) Flack and was a Williamsfield Twp. resident most of his life, living in Jefferson the past 14 years. Mr. Flack was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was self-employed, doing excavating, welding and other miscellaneous jobs. He served as Williamsfield Twp. Trustee for four terms from 1970-1985.
Mr. Flack attended St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, was a member of the Ashtabula Co. Trustees Associates, the American Legion, Kinsman Post #506, V.F.W., POst #943 in Ashtabula, Jefferson Eagles, Aerie Lodge #3881, was involved with many areas of local politics and was a general handy man that could fix anything.
Survivors include his wife, Betty L. (Hadlock) Flack, whom he married on December 9, 1989 at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church in Jefferson, four children, Nancy J. (Charles) Schroeder of Mogadore, Laurie J. (Joseph) Mezinger of Cherry Valley Twp., Terry L. (Tammy) Flack of Williamsfield Twp. & Jane M. (Leroy) Hudson of Pierpont Twp., a step-son, Lewis B. Antolak of Jefferson, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Robert Flack of Williamsfield Twp. & Eugene Flack of Andover Twp. and a sister, Joanne Eastlake of Williamsfield Twp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Mary Ellen (Herpy) Flack in 1985 and a brother, James Flack.
The funeral mass will be at 11:00am Wednesday at St. Josph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047. Following services cremation will take place at the Care Group Cremation Center with burial of ashes taking place at a later date.
Calling hours will be Tuesday form 3-4 & 7-9 at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc. 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph Calasanctius Church Memorial Fund at the above address and envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
WANDA MAE KRAY
JEFFERSON - Wanda Mae Kray, 79, died at 1:10 p.m. Friday, at at ACMC. Services are being handled by Burton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula.
Doris L. McElroy
AIKEN, S.C. - Doris L. Vosburg McElroy, 93, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at the Mattie C. Hall Nursing Home in Aiken, S.C.
She was born Aug. 3, 1908, in Buffalo, N.Y., to John B. mad Charlotte (Ehrlich) Kettell.
Mrs. McElroy was raised in Conneaut and graduated from Conneaut High. She attended Ohio University and was employed as a librarian at the Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia, Pa.
Survivors include daughter Doris A. Deuber of Mays Landing, N.J.; sister Betty Boyd of Conneaut; and grandchildren William Deuber of Smithville, N.J., and Daniel Deuber of Tuckerton, N.J.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Lawrence Vosburg, second husband Arvine McElroy, and brother Albert Kettell.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, officiated by the Rev. Walter Coy of the United Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in Conneaut.
At the family's request, there will be no calling hours.
Wanda Mae Kray
JEFFERSON - Wanda Mae Kray, 79, of Bula Road, Jefferson, died on Friday, June 20 at 1:10pm at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was in Ashtabula on September 27, 1923 to Benjamin and Elsie Mae (Durfee) Hoare and was a lifelong resident of Ashtabula County.
Wanda founded the Bula Calvary United Methodist Bible Study. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowers and sewing and was active in the Church lodge and club affiliations.
Survivors include a son, Carl and Ruby Kray of San Antonio, Texas; daughters: Kathryn and Richard R. Baker of Painesville, Bonnie Lou of Ashtabula; 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Ann and Jerry Bosworth of Painesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank Charles Kray, who died July 22, 1993 and her brother Wilson.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 23, 2003 at 12:00 at the Burton Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula. Officiating will be Pastor Pat Fisher form the Leon-Richmond United Methodist Church. Call hours will be on Sunday, June 22, 2003, from 2-4:00pm and the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bula Calvary United Methodist Church, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Margaret E. Gornick
JEFFERSON - Margaret E. Gornick, 93, of Jefferson died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Jefferson Geriatric Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1909 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of George and Ethel (Wilkes) Ross.
Mrs. Gornick was a Jefferson resident since 1994, moving from Geneva.
She was a 1927 graduate of Cleveland High School.
Mrs. Gornick worked at Wright's Department Store as an assistant manager for six years before retiring.
She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Gornick enjoyed crafts and traveling.
Survivors include her son, Richard Tamblyn; a daughter, Adele Savchak, both of Geneva; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reginald Tamblyn; her second husband, Ed Gornick; a son, Jimmy; a great-grandson; a brother, George Jr.; a sister, Marie Balzano and her parents.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday at the Jefferson Geriatric Rehabilitation Center, with the Rev. Stephen Wassie of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at a later time.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson Geriatric Activities Fund, 222 E. Beech St., Jefferson.
Envelopes will be available at the center and Ducro Funeral Services-Jefferson Home, 17 North Market St., Jefferson, who is in charge of arrangements.
Eloise Schaub
PALMETTO, Fla. - Eloise (Reed) Schaub, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in Manatee Memorial Hospital, Bradenton, Fla.
She was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Geneva, OH and graduated from Platt R. Spencer High School.
Mrs. Schaub worked as a beautician in Geneva, following graduation from Cleveland School of Beauty.
She married Robert Schaub on May 4, 1946 and moved to Mansfield. In 1983 after her husband's retirement, they moved to Palmetto, Fla.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; two daughters, Kathleen Peters of Hamilton, and Kimberly Aleck of Homewood, Ill.; three sons, James of Sarasota, Fla., Robert of Ada, Mich., and Ronald of Lexington; three sisters, Geraldine Ratliff of Ashtabula, Janice Beebe of Painesville, and Phyllis Hagedorn of Ellenton, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 12 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial in Florida National Cemetery.
The Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Ellenton, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
