Margaret H. Edwards, 87, of Dennison, formerly of Cadiz, Ohio, died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Twin City Hospital, Dennison. She was born December 31, 1916 in Hopedale, OH, a daughter of the late Archer Fremont and Grace Schultz Hedges
She was a member of Scott United Methodist Church, and was a past Worthy Matron of the Unionport Chapter 360, Order of the Eastern Star. In the late 1950's Mrs. Edwards helped to found what is now the MR DD Program in Harrison County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Quinn Edwards in 1997.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Charles Archer Edwards and his wife, Gloria of Woodsfield, and Daniel Joseph Edwards and his wife, Pamela of Sugar Creek; three grandchildren, Danielle Hamsher and her husband, Ryan, and Daylene and Grant Edwards.
Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Harry Milligan officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery. An Eastern Star Service will be held during calling hours at the funeral home.

Cynthia B. McMaster
November 24, 1946 - May 23, 2004
Cynthia B. McMaster, 57, Cadiz, died Sunday, May 23, at University Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Cindy was born November 24, 1946 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of the late Robert H. McMaster and Virginia L. Stevens McMaster.
Cindy was a former employee of the Harrison News Herald and Sally Buffalo Park both in Cadiz and a member of FOE #2162, Cadiz.
Cindy is survived by a sister, Mrs. Leonard (Sandy) Kidd of Carrollton, 3 nephews: James, Todd, and Trent Kidd, and a niece Leanne Sapp.
Calling hours are Wednesday, May 26, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz with Rev. Fr. Thomas Vennitti officiating.
Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.

Deborah Eckley Meyer
June 20, 1965 - May 18, 2004
Deborah Eckley Meyer, 38, Cadiz, died Tuesday, May 18, at Allegheny General Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Debbie was born June 20, 1965 in Wheeling, West Virginia a daughter of the late Homer W. and Emily Sickle Eckley.
Debbie was a skilled laborer at the Timken Company in Canton, Ohio, a member of the Harrison County Baseball Association, and a member of the First Church of Christ, Cadiz.
Debbie is survived by her son Wesley Andrew Meyer of the home; a brother Douglas Eckley of Wintersville, Ohio; 2 nieces: Aaron and Hannah Eckley; and her Aunt Rosalie Horn and husband Tom of Jewett.
Calling hours are Friday, May 21, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of Christ, North Main Street, Cadiz, with David Collier officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Jewett, Ohio.

Marcella Brooks Ballard

Marcella Brooks Ballard, 95, of Cadiz, died Monday, May 10, 2004 at the Carriage Inn of Cadiz. She was born December 28, 1908 in Cadiz a daughter of the late Elanora Jones.
She was a member in good and regular standing of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz. She was the former owner of the Brooks Barber Shop and retired as the Motor Vehicle Registrar in Cadiz. She was a former member of the Puskarich Public Library Board and the former Cadiz Public Library Board, and was a member of the Harrison County Republican Central and Executive Committee.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles H. Brooks, Sr. in 1960, and by her second husband, Robert W. Ballard in 1993; two sons, Gene Everett and Hartzell Gordon Brooks; and three brothers, Lincoln, Richard and Hartzell Jones.
Surviving are a son, Charles H. ''Hennie'' Brooks of Cadiz; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, 300 East Market St., Cadiz, Ohio 43907 with Rev. D'Wain O. Wales officiating.

T.C. ''Pat'' Anderson, 88, of New Athens Road, Cadiz, died Tuesday, May 4, at his home.
He was born May 16, 1915 in Cannonburg, Pennsylvania a son of the late Rev. Alexander and Elva Maud Weaver Anderson.
Pat was a miner having worked at Consol and the Goodyear Mine and was a self employed business owner having owned a couple of grocery stores and the bowling alley in New Athens, Ohio. Pat was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Harrisville, Ohio.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by a brother Donald Anderson.
Pat is survived by his wife Clarice Thornton Anderson; a son Lester Anderson and his wife Sandra Lee of Millersport, Ohio; a daughter, Jeannette Arnold and husband Charles of Leesburg, Florida; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; 3 brothers: Boyd of Sanibel Island, Florida, John of Clermont, Florida, and Paul of Elyria, Ohio; and a sister, Ana Lois McCollugh of Fruit Lane Park, Florida.

George A. Jenkins

George A. Jenkins, born August 15, 1908 in Cadiz, Ohio, and died May 2, 2004 in Dublin, Ohio. He worked in the coal fields in the Cadiz area for over 50 years in a variety of capacities. Employed by Harmon Creek Coal Co., Apex Coal Co., Hanna Coal Co., Consolidated Coal Co., and the State of Ohio. Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Cadiz High School Boosters Club, the Masonic Order, Lions Club and many other organizations. Former member of Cadiz Village Council.
Survived by his wife, M. Irene (Liggett) Jenkins; daughter, Cenia Cox and son-in-law, Bob Cox; son, George Jenkins and daughter-in-law, Gina Jenkins; grandchildren, Franklin D. Dowdle, Sheilla Turrell, Sylvia (Steve) Johnson and Dawn (Johannes) Assen; great grandchildren, Chad Williams, Chelsee Williams and Darcy Johnson.

Youstina Waszil

Youstina Waszil, 86, of Cadiz, died Friday, November 5, 2004 at her home. She was born November 25, 1917 in Apex, Ohio, a daughter of the late Steve and Anna Gural Murral.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, and was a retired employee of the Harrison County Home with over twenty years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and Charles Murral; and three sisters, Mary Kerstin, Catherine Zitko and Pearl Miller.
Surviving are a son Andrew S. Waszil of Cannonsburg, PA; four daughters, Helen Knight of East Liverpool, Jane Henwood of Cadiz, Karin Wiley of Thornville, and Deborah Meadows of Cadiz; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Scott of Jewett.

Pearl K. Culbertson
April 19, 1920 - October 23, 2004
Pearl K. Culbertson, 84, New Athens, died Saturday, October 23, at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born April 19, 1920 in St. Clairsville, Ohio a daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Hawthorne Glover.
She was a member of the New Athens Presbyterian Church where she served as treasurer, was a member of the Mary Williams Missionary Society, and was a choir member and organist for several years. She was a graduate of St. Clairsville High School and attended the Elliott Business College in Wheeling, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her husband, Roy M. Culbertson in 1997; two brothers: Leslie and Paul Glover; and an infant sister, Margaret Glover.
She is survived by a son Minard Culbertson and his wife Jan of Cape Coral, Florida; 2 daughters: Mrs. Kathleen Angle and her husband Lee of New Athens, Ohio and Burde Ma Culbertson of the home; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; and 4 step great grandchildren.
Calling hours are Monday, October 25, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where friends will be received Tuesday, from noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack Visser officiating. Burial will follow at Longview Cemetery, New Athens.

Catherine Luther Klug
November 25, 1903 - October 21, 2004
Catherine Luther Klug, 100, of Cadiz, died Thursday, October 21, 2004 in Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born November 25, 1903 in Poland, a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Kasner.
She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Cadiz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William P. Luther and her second husband, Henry Klug; an infant son, Robert Eugene Luther; and a sister, Mary Williams.
Surviving are her son, William Luther, II and his wife, Mae of Cadiz; four daughters, Dorothy and Teresa Luther, both of Cadiz, Mary Catherine Corse and her husband, Richard of Tappan Lake, and Betty Fledderus and her husband, Myron of Cadiz; twelve grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home Sunday from 6-8 p.m. where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 25, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Fr. Thomas Vennitti. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
