Frank J. Del Duchetto
ORWELL - Frank J. Del Duchetto, 83, of Orwell, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at the Grand Valley Nursing Home in Windsor.
He was born May 28, 1919, the son of Antonio and Assunta (DeFrancesco) Del Duchetto, and had lived in Orwell for 40 years.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European and Middle Eastern theaters, and fought in Algeria­French Morocco, Tunisia, Naples­Foggia, the North Apennines and the Rome­Arno campaigns.
He was the owner and operator of Frank's Shoe Repair in Orwell, Middlefield and Chardon for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joanna DeMarco and Mary DeMartini; and two brothers, Ernest and Joseph Del Duchetto.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 26 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Warren.
The Burr Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Chardon is in charge of arrangements.

Martha M. Skinner
ORWELL - Martha M. "Marti" Skinner, 65, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at her home.
She was born May 3, 1937 in Middlefield, the daughter of Melvin A. and Barbara J. (Shetler) Miller.
Mrs. Skinner had been a van driver for the Country Neighbor Program in Orwell and also worked for the Senior Aid Program.
She enjoyed playing Ruritan Wednesday night bingo, camping and doing for others she especiallyenjoyed and loved her family.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Klingensmith of Orwell, James Byler of Orwell, Rose Marie Moss of Spartenburg, S.C., Paul Byler of Orwell and Lee Byler of Colebrook; brothers, Allen and John Miller of Smicksburg, Pa. and Freeman and Owen Miller of Middlefield; sisters, Sarah Gingerich of Horseshoe, Ky., Emma Slaubaugh, Barbara and Betty Miller of Mesopotamia and Ada Miller of Middlefield; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John (Jack) Skinner on Jan. 9, 1988; and a brother, Andy Miller.
Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 East Main St., Orwell, with the Rev. Kevin Angel of Jefferson Church of the Nazarene officiating.
Burial will be in Orwell North Cemetery, Orwell.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home and 10 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.

Mary Kaibas
ORWELL - Mary Kaibas, 87, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Kaibas was born Sept. 17, 1914, the daughter of Joseph and Magdeline (Kondrat) Magyar.
She was a member of St. Mary Church in Orwell, Daughters of Mary, St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Franciscan Order in Cleveland.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling and visiting shut-ins.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Magyar of Wayne; and a sister, Theresa McCorkell of Midway City, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, on Oct. 22, 1992; and three sisters, Barbara Toth, Jennifer McGee and Helen Sibrava.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Church, 103 N. Maple Street, Orwell, with The Rev. Gregory Fedor of the church, officiating.
Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Orwell.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell.

William Hyslop
FAIRFIELD, Calif. - William Hyslop, 86, died Feb. 20, 2002, at NorthBay Medical Center.
Mr. Hyslop was born May 19, 1914, in Goderich, Ontario, Canada, and was raised in Geneva, OH.
He graduated from Ohio University in 1938 with a degree in business. Mr. Hyslop served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1966.
He then worked at Lockheed, Sunnyvale, Calif., for 13 years as a logistician.
Mr. Hyslop lived in San Jose, Calif., for 30 years and Fairfield, Calif., for four years.
He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau, Ohio University call of 1938, and was a charter member of Almaden Country Club, San Jose, Calif.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marjorie M. Hyslop; a daughter, Hilla Brookshire of San Jose, Calif.; and a son, Andrew of San Clara, Calif.
Service was 1 p.m., Saturday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva, with a piper playing at 1 p.m.
Inurnment will be at the cemetery in the family plot.
The Bryant-Baker Funeral Home, Fairfield Calif., had charge of the arrangements.

Raymond R. Novello
ORWELL - Raymond R. Novello, 60, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 15, 1940, in Cleveland, the son of Mary (Lucas) Novello.
A 30-year Orwell resident, he worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction for many years.
He attended St. Mary's Church in Orwell, and was a member of American Legion Post 714 in Orwell.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and hog-farming.
Survivors include his mother, of Orwell; his wife, Danielle (Brun, ) whom he married May 2, 1970, at Holy Trinity Church, Bedford Heights; a sister, Rita Novello of Orwell; and brothers John of Caldwell, and Dale of Perry.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Theresa.
Service is 8 p.m. Friday at the Paine Funeral Home, 3119 W. Water St., Rock Creek. The Rev. Gregory Fedor, of St. Mary's Church, Orwell, will officiate.
Calling hours at the funeral home are from 6 p.m. Friday until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Warrensville Heights, or the American Cancer Society.

Thelma Horvath
ORWELL - Thelma Horvath, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at her home.
She was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Ivona, Pa., the daughter of Arthur and Rachel Howe.
Mrs. Horvath retired as a molder at KD Manufacturing in Orwell. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and crocheting.
Survivors include her two sons, Glenn E. Dorhn of Bristolville, and Francis P. Dorhn of Colebrook Township; a daughter, Marsha Shannon of Hartsgrove Township; two sisters, Goldie Dotts of Glen Hope, Pa., and Fran Krauss of Houtzdale, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Basil O. Lake of Orwell.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward J. Dorhn, in 1967; her second husband, John Horvath, in 1988; and a great-grandson, Baby Cash.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell. The Rev. Thomas Purchase, of Grand Valley Church of the Nazarene, will officiate.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Orwell North Cemetery.
