Linda K. Boylen
ORWELL - Linda K. Boylen, 35, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital, Claridon Township, from probable heart complications.
She was born Nov. 2, 1966, in Butler, Pa., the daughter of Leroy J. and Cathryn Piper, and moved to the area two years ago, coming from Youngstown.
A 1985 East High School, Youngstown, graduate, she worked as a cashier at the Burger King restaurant in Middlefield.
She was a CB radio enthusiast and collected bears and porcelain dolls.
Survivors include her husband, Peter Paul; a daughter, Mary Kathryn, at home; two brothers, Dave Piper of Campbell, and James Piper of Slippery Rock, Pa.; and two sisters, Karen Schlagle of Butler, Pa., and Donna Phipps of Harrisville, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Peter Paul Piper Boylen.
Burial of cremated remains will take place at a later date.

Mary Lou Melvin
ORWELL - Mary Lou Melvin, 66, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at her home.
She was born April 8, 1936, in Rome Township, the daughter of Arthur M. and Betty J. (Warner) Wolfe. and had lived in Orwell for 23 years, coming from Chardon.
A Mentor High School graduate, she married Ralph W. Melvin Jr. on Nov. 12, 1960, in Mentor.
Mrs. Melvin worked as a tool crib operator for 33 years at Carlisle Engineered Products Inc.
She enjoyed birds, collecting candles and teddy bears, shopping, bingo, country music, traveling, playing hand-held games, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; seven daughters, Betty Simpson of Colebrook Township, Annie Freeman of Orwell, Nancy Nevison of Orwell, Mary Bright of Hartsgrove Township, Kimberly Peck of Orwell, Kelly Miller of Bristolville, and Cathy Stutler of South Carolina; two sons, Ralph G. of Chardon, and John A. of Mesopotamia; 28 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Jarvis of Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James A. Wolfe.
Service is 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell, with the Rev. Tom Ross of Hartsgrove Assembly for Christ officiating. Burial will be in Orwell North Cemetery.
Calling hours are 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Cecelia J. Svec
ORWELL - Cecelia J. Svec, 85, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Harborside Healthcare in Westlake.
She was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Osage, W.Va., the daughter of John and Susie (Hugo) Sevec.
She was a retired secretary to the purchasing agent of Chardon Rubber Co.
Mrs. Svec was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Daughters of Mary, Orwell. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, dancing and people. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her three children, Bonnie Kittel of Colorado Springs, Colo., JoAnn Peluso of Cleveland, and Jerry Svec of Scurry, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Svec, on Nov. 22, 1994; four brothers, Joseph, John, Andy and Alex Sevec; and a sister, Pauline Sevec.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, 103 N. Maple St., Orwell. The Rev. Gregory Fedor will officiate.
Calling hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
Harriet M. Moody
ORWELL - Harriet M. Moody, 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at the Grand Valley Country Manor in Windsor.
She was born May 4, 1912, in Orwell, the daughter of Andrew and Elsie (Henderson) Moody.
A graduate of Orwell High School, she was a member of the Orwell United Methodist Church. She was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 30 years.
She enjoyed her home and her family.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces, including Dale Sharp of Orwell, and Robert Moody of Mentor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ledru and Donald Moody; and a sister, Juliet Sharp.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell. The Rev. George Dauler of Chardon will officiate.
No calling hours will be observed.
Burial will be in Orwell North Cemetery.

Juliet P. Sharp
ORWELL - Juliet P. Sharp, 93, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at her home.
She was born Aug. 28, 1907, in Orwell, the daughter of Andrew and Elsie (Henderson) Moody.
Mrs. Sharp was a lifelong member of the Orwell United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed her flowers and plants., watching television, embroidery, listening to Lawrence Welk and Tennessee Ernie Ford music, her home and especially enjoyed her grand and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Dale Sharp of Orwell; a sister, Harriet Moody of Orwell; two grandchildren, Brian Sharp of Ashtabula, and Deborah Libby of Gibstonia, Pa.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Ledru Moody.
Funeral will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the gravesite in Orwell North Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeff Fatica, Orwell United Methodist Church and the Rev. George Dauler, Orwell Presbyterian Church officiating.

Agnes C. Shannon
ORWELL - Agnes C. Shannon, 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Grand Valley Country Manor.
She was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Hazleton, Pa., the daughter of James and Ann (Tucker) McGlynn.
A 50-year Orwell resident, she was a 1935 graduate of Euclid High School.
She was a member of St. Mary Church in Orwell, the Daughters of Mary, Women's Club of Orwell, Orwell Garden Club, was a life member of the Grange, a member of the Old Brick Historical Society and served as a volunteer for the Country Neighbor program.
She was 1995's Ashtabula County Senior Citizen of the Year.
She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; doing volunteer work for Country Neighbor; flowers and gardening; and reading and documenting information.
Survivors include a son, James of Hartsgrove; two daughters: Patricia McGann of Bristolville and Jackie Millikin of Orwell; a sister, Annamae Springborn of Edenton, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland R., on Dec. 2, 1988; a daughter, Geraldine Drenski; four brothers; and two sisters.
Service is 1 p.m. Friday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell. The Rev. Gregory Fedor of St. Mary Church will officiate. Burial will be at Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristolville.
Calling hours at the funeral home are 11 a.m. Friday until the time of service.
