Wilmore Mallory, 87, of Cadiz, Ohio, formerly of Smithfield, Ohio, died Sunday, October 17, 2004 at the Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit in Steubenville, Ohio. He was born May 5, 1917 in Triadelphia, WV, a son of the late William and Vinnie McAfee.
He was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in Cadiz, and was a retired Construction Worker with Union Local 809 in Steubenville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Gladys Mallory; his second wife, Lydia Ann Mallory; and four children, Richard, Walter (Wicky), James (Jimmy), and Charles (Smiley) Mallory.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Mallory of Steubenville, and JoAnn (Charles) Gross of Cadiz; seven sons, Robert (Mary Ann) Mallory of Roanoke, VA, Vincent (Lisa) Hampton of Columbus, Tyrone Smith, Sr. and Lance Smith, both of Cadiz, Butch Smith and Kim Smith, both of Las Vegas, NV, and Robert (Donna) West of Columbus; three sisters-in-law, Mayola Johnson of Steubenville, Jeanne Stewart of Mansfield, and Louine Porter of Columbus; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at St. James A.M.E. Church with Rev. D'Wain O. Wales officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
William J. Miner
February 22, 1922 - October 11, 2004
William J. Miner, 82, of Cadiz, died Monday, October 11, 2004 at his home. He was born February 22, 1922 in Trimble, Ohio, a son of the late William G. and Valera M. Somplansky.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ of Cadiz, the Harrison County Coonhunters Club. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Yellowstone National Park, and was an owner and operator truck driver for 50 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Bihlman Miner; two daughters, Anna (James) O'Neil and Marilyn (Terrance) Hyde, both of Cadiz; three grandchildren, John O'Neil, William and Dianna Hyde, and serveral cousins..

James J. Stillwagon, Sr.
April 24, 1953 - October 03, 2004
James J. Stillwagon, Sr., 51, of Cadiz, died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born April 24, 1953 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a son of the late Leonard and Lila Schucht Stillwagon.
He was an employee of Saint Gobain's Bay Form Plant in Cadiz, and was an EMT for the Cadiz Emergency Squad for nearly twenty years. During the Viet Nam Era, he served in both the Navy and Marines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Jimmy Stillwagon and a sister, Peggy Stillwagon.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Duffy Stillwagon; a son, James J. Stillwagon, Jr. of Cadiz; a daughter, Tiffany Stillwagon of Cadiz; eight grandchildren; three step-sons, Chuck Duffy of Cadiz, Ralph Duffy of Bridgeport and David Morgan of Jewett; a step-daughter, Shauna Palmer of Cadiz; three brothers, Roy Stillwagon of Seattle, WA, Randy Stillwagon of Bloomingdale and John Stillwagon of Hopedale; seven sisters, Beverly Mansfield, Nancy Beach, Bonita Stocking, Mary Jane Abel and Janet Mansfield, all of Cadiz, Ethel Hall of Clearwater, FL and Shirley Ridgeway of Hendersonville, SC.

Katie Ann Campbell

Katie Ann Campbell, infant daughter of Scot and Kayla Campbell of Cheyenne, WY, died October 2, 2004. Katie is survived by her grandparents Jeff and Judy Campbell of Cadiz and Mitch and Mary Malcomb of Jewett; great grandparents Earl and AnnaMae Heath of Tippecanoe, Louise Campbell of Freeport, Frank Cerny of Wooster, Marjorie Myers of Wooster, Lola Malcomb of Heaters, WV and Ron and Laura Coblentz of Slidell, LA. Aunts and uncles include Annie and Eric of New Athens, Tonya, Brittany, Jessie, Brent and Kody of Jewett, and Robbie and Shawna of England.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Nottingham Church Cemetery with Rev. William Hudson officiating. Arrangements are by Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home.
Robert Miller Swann

Robert Miller Swann, 92, of Cadiz, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Harrison Community Hospital. He was born March 3, 1912 in Cameron, West Virginia, a son of the late Fred Andrew and Arizona Miller Swann.
He was a member of the Minksville Church of Christ. Bob was a retired Welder and Mechanic for Consolidation Coal Co. of Cadiz, where he worked for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Pauline (Moore) Swann; two daughters, Carole Lee and her husband, Forest of Marion, Ohio, Joyce Slatt and her husband, Mike of St. Clairsville, Ohio; a son, Fred Swann and his wife, Pat of Minerva, Ohio; a brother, Earl Swann of Cadiz, Ohio; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Josephine Walls

Josephine Walls, 83, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at her home. She was born February 27, 1921 in Mannington, WV, a daughter of the late Shirley and Goldie Gray Barrett.
She attended the Cadiz Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday School. She was a former member of the Harrison Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver W. Walls in 1983; a son, Donald Walls; and two brothers, Howard and Ed Barrett.
Surviving are a son, Oliver Walls, Jr. (Buddy) of Beaufort, SC; three daughters, Nancy Cole and her husband, Larry of Bay Village, Barbara Miller and her husband, Holly of Hopedale, and Patty Demangone of Cadiz; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Barrett of Dotson, NC.

Lois C. McLaughlin, 90, of Cadiz, Ohio, formerly of Jacksonville, Florida and Stewart, Tenn. died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born July 26, 1914 in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of the late Paul E. and Katharine Allen Cowgill.
She was a retired employee of the State of Florida and was a Baptist by Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dunham.
Surviving are a daughter, Kate Allen of Annandale, VA; a sister, Barbara Henson of Cadiz, OH; a brother, Daniel Cowgill of Silver Spring, MD; three grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

Clyde L. ''Big Daddy'' Vincent, 52, Scio, Ohio died Friday, September 17, at the Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. He was born January 25, 1952 in Mingo Junction, Ohio a son of the late Arnett and Mildred Winland Vincent.
He was the owner of Cadiz Collectibles and Antiques and a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his friend and companion, Carol Flannigan of the home; 4 brothers: Harold E. (Gene) Vincent and wife Dorothy of Steubenville, Donald Ray Vincent of New Zealand, John Earl Vincent of Lindsey, California and Paul Leroy Vincent of Farmersville, California.

Erca Harris Wrightson

Erca Harris Wrightson, 82 of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Cadiz, Ohio, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004 in Melbourne. She was born July 22, 1922 in Spencer, WV, a daughter of the late Russell and Marjorie Evilsizer Phillips.
Mrs. Wrightson was a self employed tax accountant in the Cadiz area for many years and was a former member of the East Warren Street Church of Christ in Cadiz. She currently belonged to the Melbourne Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harley Harris and by three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are her husband, Frank Wrightson; one daughter, Grace (Robert ''Buddy'') Erwin of Tupelo, MS; two sons, Wayne (Sara) Harris of Eufaula, OK and Leroy Harris of Birmingham, AL; seven grandchildren, including Spencer (Julie) Greer of Alexandria, Va and Shaye Greer of Tupelo, MS; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Anna Mae Doolittle of Spencer, WV; two brothers, Stephen and Kenneth Phillips, both of Charleston, WV; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen C. Abercrombie, 82, Cadiz, Ohio formerly of Wheeling, West Virginia, died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. She was born September 17, 1921 in Joseph Mills, West Virginia a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Binegar Ash.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Cadiz; a past matron of the West Liberty OES; member of the Wellsburg OES; a member to the Ohio County Homemakers and the AARP; and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Samuel Lynn Abercrombie; a daughter, Catherine Ann Abercrombie; a brother, Frederick Ash; 3 sisters: Ruth Maxwell, Erma Hutton, and Glenda Rusen.
Surviving are a son, James Abercrombie and his wife Linda of Follansbee, West Virginia; a daughter, Lynne Christine Stevens and her husband John of Stafford, Virginia; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Ash of Palm Desert, CA; 2 sisters: Ruby Pettay and Virginia McFarlan both of Cadiz, Ohio; and a special niece Lavonda New of Cadiz, Ohio..
