Ethel M. Lytell
ORWELL - Ethel M. Lytell, 90, a resident of Orwell Township, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at the Serenity Manor in Orwell.
Born on June 22, 1913 in New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of Rayford and Lessie (Delatte) Nixon and was a resident of Orwell for 51 years.
She enjoyed embroidering, traveling to visit family and friends. Ethel loved animals, especially her dogs.
Survivors include two sons, Forrest, and Louis Lytell of Austintown; two daughters, Louise Putt of Orwell, and Florence Nicholson of Weston, WV; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Glen, and Edward Lytell.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2003, at THE GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 140 East Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076-0026, with burial to follow at the Orwell North Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday Morning, August 1, 2003, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the activities fund of Serenity Manor in Orwell or to the Country Neighbor in Orwell, OH.
Samuel A. Eovino
HONOLULU, HI - Samuel A. Eovino, 85, of Honolulu, HI, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, in Honolulu, HI.
He was born on February 11, 1918 in Ashtabula. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Honolulu, HI.
Mr. Eovino worked as an Engineer for the ConRail out of Ashtabula for 35 years, retiring in 1978 and moving to Hawaii.
He served in World War II in the South Pacific. Mr. Eovino was a member of DAV and was 100% disabled. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Club, enjoyed swimming, coin collecting, and also collected R.R. memorabilia.
Survivors include a son, Donald Eovino and a daughter, Marcia Eovino, both of Hawaii; a step-son, Frank Janiso of New York; a step-daughter, Donna Atkinson of Washington; two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Lee.
Funeral Services were held at ORDENSTEIN'S HAWAIIAN MEMORIAL PARK MORTUARY in Honolulu, HI.
Georgia P. Dodge
ORWELL - Georgia Pauline Dodge, 83, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital in Chardon.
She was born Jan. 18, 1919, in Colebrook, the daughter of George P. and Norma (Lucas) Dodge.
A graduate of Colebrook High School in 1936 and Orwell High School in 1937, she was employed by Griffith's General Store in Colebrook. She also worked at Orwell Implement Co. and the Farmers National Bank and Trust Co. in Orwell. She retired in 1984.
Mrs. Dodge's memberships included Colebrook United Methodist Church, Colebrook United Methodist Women's Club, charter member of V.V.C. of Colebrook, Orwell Garden Club, Grand Valley Senior Citizens, and Grand Valley Interfaith Service.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and word puzzles.
Survivors include several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four aunts, Grace Lucas, Vesta Clute, Doris Krieg, and Delillah Bedell.
Service will be noon Saturday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell. The Rev. Richard Cheney and the Rev. Thomas Purchase will co-officiate.
Burial will follow in Colebrook North Cemetery, Colebrook.
Calling hours will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Colebrook United Methodist Church.
Paul Benak
ORWELL - Paul Benak, 89, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary Gillespie of Arizona; a son, Paul Michael of Rock Creek; a granddaughter, Kim Gillespie Best of California; a grandson, James Paul Gillespie of Georgia; one brother; and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (Casline); and his parents, Paul and Rosi (Fila) Benak.
A committal service is 6 p.m. today at Greenlawn Cemetery, Green Township, Trumbull County.
No calling hours will be observed.

Elizabeth Kirner
ORWELL - Elizabeth Kirner, 84, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Village Square Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 1, 1916 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Joseph and Katalin (Willand) Willey.
During World War II, she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" on the B-29's.
She was a Girl Scout leader in Cleveland and was a resident of Rock Creek for the past 16 years. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Church in Rock Creek.
Her interests include gardening, baking, needlework and crafts.
Survivers include her daughters; Sandra H. Derkacs of Bethlehen, Pa., Katherine M. Takacs of Rock Creek, Nancy E. Hopka of Hinkley, sisters Rose Pavlik of Newbury, Ann Delsky of Parma; brother Joseph Willey of Middleburg Heights and 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her sister, Gizella Szabo; and brother, John Willey.
In keeping with Elizabeth's wishes, she will be cremated.
Funeral mass will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 3409 N. Main St., Rock Creek.
Monsignor Edward Kowaleski will officiate.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, at a later date.
Edward L. Carlson
ORWELL - Edward L. Carlson, 92, died Sunday, Feb. 4., 2001, at Village square Nursing Home in Orwell.
He was born April 26, 1908 in Francisville, Ind., the son of Charles G. and Caroline (Erickson) Carlson.
An area farmer, Mr. Carlson was a member of the Orwell Presbyterian Church, a Grange member for over 50 years, an Orwell Township trustee for 12 years, and an Ohio delegate to the state Grange council. He enjoyed Grange programs, traveling, going to area sales, and calling square dancing.
Survivors include his wife, Audra (Wallace) Carlson, whom he married Oct. 19, 1931; two sons, Ray of Orwell and Glen of Roaming Shores; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Cox of N. Bloomfield, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfred, Harold, Clyde, and Emory Carlson; and two sisters, Florence and Myrtle.
Service will be noon Thursday at the Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell. The Rev. George Dauler of the Orwell Presbyterian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Brownwood Cemetery in North Bloomfield.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
