Verda M. Huhn
ARLINGTON - Verda Maribeth (Patrick) Huhn, 85, of Powell Street, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Center, Arlington.
She was born March 17, 1917, in Austinburg, to Lewis and Emma (Johnston) Patrick. She graduated from Grand River Academy.
Mrs. Huhn was the co-owner of an ice cream store.
Survivors include a son, William Huhn; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald E. Huhn.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at Crates Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St., Arlington, officiated by the Rev. Bruce Colbert, pastor. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

JoAnna M. (Simms) Mitchell
MIDWEST, OK - JoAnna M. (Simms) Mitchell, 57, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 8, 2003, in Midwest, 6_19_MITCHELL_obit__eps OK.
She was born in Hazard, KY, to Charles E. and Margaret C. (Brewer) Simms on October 30, 1945. A graduate of Ashtabula High School, Ms. Mitchell was a financial counselor. She attended Church of the Harvest and loved to travel, crafting, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her dear friend, David Emberling; her mother, Margaret Simms of Ashtabula; two daughters, Lisa (Wayne) Thatcher of Harrah, OK, and Shellie Erickson of Cornville, AZ; two sons, Chuck (Tami) Mitchell of Choctaw, OK, and Brian (Tori) Mitchell of Harrah, OK; eight grandchildren; her brother, Dave Simms, and her sister, Jeanne (Brian, Jr.) Wright, of Ashtabula; aunts, Elizabeth Pence and Denna (Andy) Skaruppa of Ashtabula, and Lucille Jones of Irongate, VA; and uncles, Clyde Brewer of Dayton and John Brewer; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles; paternal grandparents; and maternal grandparents, Joe and Murriel Brewer.
Funeral Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003, at the First Assembly of God Church, 2300 Austinburg Rd., Ashtabula, with Rev. Brian Wright Sr. officiating.
Graveside committal will directly follow at Edgewood Cemetery, State Rd., Ashtabula. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Larry Hamilton, Jr., Matthew P. Hamilton

Brothers Larry Hamilton, Jr., age 33 of Footville-Richmond Rd., Lenox Twp. and Matthew P. Hamilton, age 30, Dadyville Rd., Austinburg Twp., died early Saturday morning from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Larry was born September 4, 1974 and Matthew was born June 5, 1977, both in Ashtabula, sons of Larry Hamilton, Sr. and Rosemary A. Dodge. Both have lived in this area all of their lives. Larry liked to work on motors and enjoyed art, drawing and spending time with his children. Matthew loved music, played in a garage band, enjoyed the company of his dog, “Tyler”, liked to work on his house and loved to spend time with his wife, Holly and his friends.
Larry leaves behind three daughters, Mindy, Mary & Summer Hamilton. Matthew leaves behind his wife, Holly (Dewey) Hamilton, with whom he’s been with the past nine years and a step-son, Ryan DeMoss.
Both Larry & Matthew are survived by their mother and step-father, Rosemary & Elmer Herman of Jefferson, their father, Larry Hamilton, Sr. of Dayton, seven siblings, Sam Hamilton of Jefferson, Angel Bryant of Dayton, Tammy Hamilton of Pikeville, KY, Amanda Cravalho of Southington, Anita Homa of Newton Falls, Danny Hamilton of Ivel, KY & Albert Bull of Jefferson, grandparents, Squire & Laura Mae Hamilton of Pikeville, KY and Albert & Patty Dodge of Jefferson.
They were preceded in death by a grandmother, Menda Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 1:00 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with their grandfather and uncle, Squire and Scott Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00 A. M. to 1:00 P. M. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the family in c/o Holly Hamilton, 1761 Dadyville Rd., Austinburg, OH 44010, envelopes will also be at the funeral home.
William J. Kolehmainen

William J. Kolehmainen, age 91, E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, died Saturday afternoon at his residence after being under hospice care the past three months.
He was born June 10, 1916 in Ashtabula, the son of Nester & Selma (Takala) Kolehmainen and has lived in Jefferson most of his life. He was married to Verla M. March on December 17, 1941 at the Jefferson Methodist Church parsonage. Mr. & Mrs. Kolehmainen just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. He was employed more than 32 years with Ashtabula Bow Socket, retiring in 1978.
Before his work at the Bow Socket, Mr. Kolehmainen, along with his mother and brother, operated the Kolehmainen Dairy, delivering milk in Ashtabula for many years. He was a man of principals and high morals. He built the home they live in, he enjoyed traveling and going for local drives around Ashtabula Co. He used to be a bee keeper, a wine maker and raise sheep. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, softball and playing horse shoes. He enjoyed all sports, especially teaching them to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Verla, four children, Richard W. (Linda) Kolehmainen of Rootstown, Suann S. (Larry) Penniman of Conneaut, Dr. John R. (Beverly) Kolehmainen of Enon Valley, PA & Kay N. Kendzerski of Ashtabula, 13 grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Esther Masirovits, two brothers, Karlo & Nester Kolehmainen, Jr. and two grandsons.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of the Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.

Larry L. Smith, Sr., age 52, Lenox-New Lyme Rd., Lenox Twp., died early Friday morning at his residence following complications of cancer.
He was born October 2, 1955 in Ashtabula, the son of Harry G. & Jennie A. (Mitcham) Smith, Sr. and has lived in Ashtabula Co. all of his life. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and was a former employee of Andover Industries. Mr. Smith enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing horse shoes and pool.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene J. (Cottle) Smith whom he married on September 16, 2007 in Jefferson, his mother, Jennie A. Smith of Sheffield Twp., seven children, Kelly L. (Jesse) Ludwick of Jefferson, Larry L. (Cassie) Smith of Ashtabula, Candy L. (Jeff) Richards of Plymouth Twp., William M. (Chrissy) Case of Jefferson, Daniel A. (Missy) Case of Sheffield Twp., Wilma J. Case of Indiana & Sally A. Case of Jefferson, nine grandchildren, four siblings, Shirley Wolfgang of Denmark Twp., Harry (Butch) Smith, Debbie Wittington & Bobby Smith, all of Sheffield Twp. & his mother-in-law, Geraldine Cottle of Andover. Dorothy H. Lingham

Dorothy H. Lingham, 100, a resident of Royal Meadows the past five years, died Tuesday afternoon at the Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born January 12, 1907, in Medway, Massachusettes. She was the daughter of Robert J. and Carolyn B. (Hodges) Hodgson. She was a graduate of Brown University. She married Phillip Lingham in Framingham, Massachusetts on December 30, 1932.
She was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church as well as the Austinburg Garden Club. She was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include two children, Richard M. Lingham of Jefferson and Jean L. Wakeman of Leland, NC; two grandsons, David R. Wakeman of Columbus and Stephen R. Wakeman of Arlington, VA; two granddaughters, Laura J. Lingham of Columbus and Donna L. Lingham of Stow, Ohio; four grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Kenneth Hodgson of Whiteville, NC.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Phillip in 1991, two sisters, Sylvia Richardson and Marjorie Hanna, and one brother Robert Hodgson.
