James L. Gregg
MELBOURNE, Fla. – James L. Gregg, 67, of Parkland Drive, died of cancer, Friday, May 18, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 14, 1933, in Eagleville, the son of William and Goldie (Slifer) Gregg. He moved to Brevard County in 1991 from Jefferson.
Mr. Gregg was a 1951 graduate of Austinburg High, attending Lakeland Community College and Brevard Community College. He retired as a pipefitter from RMI Titanium in 1991.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of Moose Lodge No. 547, Ashtabula; American Legion Post No. 117, Palm Bay, Fla.; the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union, American Association of Retired Persons; Palm Bay Senior Center; and Lakes of Melbourne Homeowners Association.
Mr. Gregg enjoyed all outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, reading and his grandchildren. He coached Junior League Bowling at Jefferson Lanes, twice taking a girls team to state tournaments. He also coached and umpired for Jefferson Area Girls Softball.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Joan “Jodi”; two daughters, Beth Ann Trask of Ravenna and Deborah Sue Wong Chong of Parkland, Fla.; four grandchildren, Brittany and Chad Trask of Ravenna and Summer and Autumn Wong Chong of Parkland; two brothers, William and Donald of Jefferson; and four sisters, Marthetta Kuhar of Geneva, Dorothy Messenger of Columbus, Pa., June Starek of Maywood, Calif., and Ruth Kolehmainen of Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Charles.

Anna Feysa
TRUMBULL TOWNSHIP - Anna Feysa, 91, of Trumbull Township, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at Austinburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Home.
Born May 5, 1911, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth Lacinak. She lived most of her life in the Cleveland area as a devoted wife to Jacob Feysa, a mother, and a homemaker.
She loved watching her soap operas and was quite a jokester.
Survivors include two sons, Edward of Seven Hills, and James of Florida; two daughters, Carol Kulick of Trumbull Township, with whom she made her home, and Eileen Jack of Nevada; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Dolores Bycoskie; two brothers, Paul and Rudolph Lacinak, and three sisters, Mary Hominsky, Dorothy Lacinak and Louise Kozick.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Kennedy-Billman Funeral Home, 323 S. Broadway, Geneva, with Father Paul Tobin of the Assumption Church in Geneva officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brookpark.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Anna Gurgul
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Anna Gurgul, of Long Beach, Calif., and formerly of Orwell, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002.
Mrs. Gargul was born April 19, 1919, in Austinburg Township, to Stanislaw Molenda and Rosalia (Gorniak) Molenda.
She is survived by her husband, Ignace Gurgul; a daughter, Kathleen Molenda, of California; a son, Leonard Gurgul of Colebrook Township; three grandsons, Raymond and John Pustinger, of California, and David Pustinger; and one great-grandchild.
David L. Putka
THOMPSON - David L. Putka, 65, of Thompson for the past two years, and formerly of Lake County for most of his life, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Austinburg Rehabilitation Center in Austinburg.
He was born April 5, 1937, in Willoughby, the son of George and Mabel Putka.
Mr. Putka was an inspector at Caterpillar Corp. in Cleveland and Mentor. He enjoyed building homes and remodeling.
Mr. Putka was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Karen, of 26 years; sons, Phillip Putka of Eastlake and David Putka of Hixon, Tenn.; a daughter, Deborah Rayl of Leroy; three step-children, Timothy and Stephen Woodruff, both of Mentor, and Terrence Woodruff of Madison; six granddaughters, Angela, Kelly, Kristina, Alexis, Jill, and Tabitha; six grandsons, Tim, Matthew, Stephen, Drew, Jason and Michael; a great-granddaughter, Summer; and a sister, Janet Farmer Klee of Mentor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Gregory Putka.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Inurnment of cremains will be in Perry Cemetery, Perry.
Calling hour will be from noon until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Marion S. Gertz
MICHIGAN - Marion S. Gertz, 80, a resident of Sterling Hts., Michigan, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, in Royal Oak, Michigan. Mrs. Gertz was born on November, 10, 1922, in Austinburg, Ohio, the daughter of John and Gertrude (Zurstadt) Strasen.
She was the secretary to Geneva Public Schools superintendent and was active at Grace Lutheran Church for many years. She was also a member of the Geneva Quilters Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude Strasen; brothers, John, Richard and Robert; and her sister, Gertrude.
Survivors include her husband, Reinhart; her daughter, Melinda (Lee) Althoff, of Holly, Michigan; a son, Jonathan (Joan) Gertz, of Lexington, Kentucky; and her grandchildren, Michelle (Steve) Grifka, Becky (Mike) Wegner, Leigh (Shawn) Mannion, Kathleen Althoff, Johanna Gertz and Jonathan Gertz; a brother, Edmund Strasen; and 4 Sisters-in-law and 2 Brothers-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, in Thompson, on May 28, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 27, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at The Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street (corner Routes 528 & 84), Madison, Ohio. The Rev. Ross Fees, of Grace Lutheran Church, Thompson, will officiate. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery, Cleveland.

Marie M. Baker
LENOX TOWNSHIP - Marie M. Baker, 93, of Lyme Road, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at the UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva. She was born June 9, 1909 in Cleveland, the daughter of Charles P. and Louise W. (Erler) Fink.
She has been a resident of Ashtabula County the past 59 years, coming from Willoughby. She was married to J Langshaw Baker, Nov. 4, 1932 in Willoughby.
Mrs. Baker was a member of the Austinburg United Church of Christ and the Mary Martha Circle at the church. She was a leader in the Stitch and Sew 4-H Club. She was part of the original ground observers for the Civil Air Patrol in World War II, served on the rescue squad in Willoughby, was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #202 in Willoughby and was a 58-year member of the Austinburg Grange and the Austinburg Garden Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Jean Harder of LaRue and Frances R. Richards of Jefferson; eight grandchildren, Janet McDermott of Burbank, Roxanne Sparks of Findlay, Ronald J. Harder of Milford Center, Lawrence P. Harder of Mt. Victory, Ronda A. Keaton of Chillicothe, Jay T. Richards of Andover, Christopher S. Richards of Jefferson and Jodi White of Perry; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1976 and a daughter, Anne Marie Prater in 1970.
A graveside service for burial of remains will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Austin Cemetery in Austinburg Township with the Rev. Glen Warner of the Second Congregational Church of Christ officiating.
