Frank Kizlik
ROCK CREEK - Frank Kizlik, 84, of Rock Creek, died Sunday evening, May 26, 2002, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital in Chardon.
He was born Dec. 4, 1917, in Canada, the son of Emil and Josephine (Slaffer) Kizlik, and lived in Middlefield for 27 years before moving to Roaming Shores in 1996.
He worked as a punch press operator for 24 years at Volchek Tool in Cleveland prior to retirement.
He was married to the former Mary Sigmeth for 55 years.
He served with the Army in the European Theater during World War II, and received the European Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars. He also earned a Distinguished Unit Citation.
He was a black power gun enthusiast.
Survivors include a son, James Kizlik of Rock Creek; a sister, Helen; two grandchildren, Frank J. and Lawrence; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, John; and a stepbrother, Albert.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield. The Rev. Harry S. Winca, of St. Lucy Catholic Church in Middlefield, will officiate. Burial will be at Middlefield Cemetery in Middlefield.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Lillian R. Gianantonio
ROCK CREEK - Lillian R. Gianantonio, 84, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born March 8, 1918, in Cleveland, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Stocking) Taylor.
She worked at Great Lakes Tractor, and Smith and Wesson Corp., Rock Creek, and was a former owner-operator of Village Floral, Jefferson, and Rock Creek Mower Parts and Repair. She also was active with her husband, Edwin, in Ed's Concessions.
She was a member of the Rock Creek United Methodist Church and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, making angels and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Parker of Willoughby, and Joanne Otto of Rock Creek; two sons, Edwin of Yukon, Okla., and Robert of Jefferson; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin J., on March 8, 1998; two sisters, Alma Merkel and Dorothy Durkin; and three brothers Bud, Roy, and George Taylor.
Service is 1 p.m. Saturday at the Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 3119 W. Water St., Rock Creek. Gordon Emerson, lay pastor of Jefferson United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Rock Creek.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Max Whetson
ROCK CREEK - Max William Whetson, 78, of Rock Creek died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 17, 1923, in North Bloomfield, the son Elgin L. and Nina Mae (Downing) Whetson.
Mr. Whetson was a partner, with his brother Laddle, in the Bloomfield Inn, selling it in the early 1960s. He was also a retired shipper in 1984, for Chardon Rubber Co., Chardon after 20 years and was a partner in Rock Creek Pizza Shoppe for the past 20 years, and was self-employed in various businesses.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Whetson enjoyed western movies and working in the yard.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Irene (Fink); two daughters, Dorothy Shinkle and Maxine "Suzie" Whetson, both of Rock Creek; a son, Max Whetson Jr., of Geneva; two sisters, Irma Karasiewicz of Cortland and Leona Tryon of Warren; brother, Nelson "Buster" Whetson of North Bloomfield and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Alice Coffee, Alma Crawford, Arlene Whetson; and brothers, Elton Leon "Laddle" and Elgin Whetson Jr.
Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 3119 West Water St., Rock Creek, with the Rev. Bill McMinn of the Eagleville Bible Church officiating.
Calling hours will be 5 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Donna M. Kraus
ROCK CREEK - Donna M. Kraus, 76, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at University Hospital, Cleveland.
Born Feb. 25, 1926, she was a graduate of Rock Creek High School.
Mrs. Kraus was owner of the Village Coffee Shop and Donna's Hair Fashions, Rock Creek.
Survivors include a son, Terry Graham of Hartsgrove Township; two grandchildren, Candy Graham Miechowicz and Theodore T. Graham; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Neal Graham and William Kraus; and a son, William Graham.
In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated.
A committal service will be held at the family's convenience.

EDWARD KENDZERSKI
ROCK CREEK - Edward J. "Eddie Joe" Kendzerski, 52, of Rock Creek, died Friday, May 30, 2003 in the Hospice Unit at Ashtabula County Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 3119 West Water Street, Rock Creek. Visitation will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Larry D. Kobella
July 5, 1948 - August 24, 2013
Services: August 31st, 2013 at 11:00 A. M.
Larry D. Kobella, age 65, E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, died Saturday morning at his residence after extended suffering with COPD.
He was born July 5, 1948 in Brusnwick, OH, the son of the late John “Jack” A. & Margaret L. (Pitonak) Kobella and has lived in the Jefferson area most of his life, coming from Brunswick. Larry was a graduate of Jefferson High School. He was a member of the 9th Platoon in the U. S. Army serving in the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart, multiple Army Commendation Medals and Bronze Star Medals.
He was a member of Tuscan Lodge #342 F. & A. M. Larry enjoyed hunting, collecting guns, archery, dirt bikes and four-wheelers. He loved his pets and animals and was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include four children, Kristen L. Kobella of Willoughby, Michael D. (Stephanie) Kobella of Chesterland, Amanda L. (Mike) Milinski of Rock Creek & Larry D. Kobella, II of Jefferson, four grandchildren, Cecilia, Sylvia, Makenzie & Mason, a brother, Robert J. Kobella of Jefferson and two sisters, Donna Mae L. Prindle of Orwell & Diana Margaret E. Jackson of Conneaut.
A visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 P. M. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson. Memorial contributions may be directed to In-Country Vietnam Veterans, c/o Ed Harcourt, P. O. Box 97, Unionville, OH 44088.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A. M. Saturday in Oakdale Cemetery with American Legion Post #103 offering full military honors.
Beatrice Weeks
February 28, 1925 - August 29, 2013
Services: September 9th, 2013 at 2:00 P. M.
Beatrice “Bea” Weeks, age 88, died peacefully under hospice care Thursday evening at her residence on Railroad St. in Rock Creek with family by her side.
She was born February 28, 1925 in Inman, VA, the daughter of Jessie & Maggie (Wilson) Williams and has been a resident of this area since 1968, coming from Cleveland. She was married to Clarence Weeks on March 25, 1960 in Elizabethton, TN. Mrs. Weeks was a 2003 graduate of the Kent State University Able Program and then attended KSU.
She worked for many years at the Gazette Newspapers and also at the Ames and Hills Department Stores. Mrs. Weeks volunteered at the Rock Creek Elementary School. She was a gifted crotchetier, winning many ribbons at the county fair and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include a son, David W. Weeks of Rock Creek, three grandchildren, Gloria D. (Shaun) Swonger of Rock Creek, Joseph W. Weeks & Abigayle L. Weeks, both of Springboro, PA, three great-grandchildren, Logan & Lydia Swonger and Jayden Weeks and two sisters, Thelma Stout of Cleveland and Corrine Ballard of Elizabethton, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence in 2009, a brother, Hoover Williams and a sister, Dora Stout.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at 2:00 P. M. in Oakdale Cemetery with Sister Laurie Divoky of Hospice of the Western Reserve leading the service. No calling hours will be observed.
