Raymond F. Vlasa
YOUNGSTOWN - Raymond F. Vlasak, 89, a former Windsor Township and Andover area resident, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Liberty Health Care Center in Youngstown, where he had been a resident for the past 21¼2 years.
He was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Libby, Mont., the son of Antonio and Mary (Vlasak) Yisha and lived in Windsor Township most of his life, living in Andover from 1969 to 1992, and the past four years in Girard.
Mr. Vlasak owned and operated his own sawmill, was a sawyer all of his life, retiring in 1978.
He was a life member of Hartsgrove Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons; was a 32nd degree Mason and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Walter R. of Lakewood, Wash.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel (Chilan) in 1970; a daughter, Adelene Vaux in 1993; and a great-granddaughter, Angela Piekarski.
Service is 2 p.m. Monday at the Fleming Funeral Home Inc., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Meredith Coleman of Jefferson United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery, Windsor Township.
No calling hours will be observed.
Steven D. Carr
RICHMOND TOWNSHIP - Steven D. Carr, 42, of Hall Road, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, because of complications from injuries sustained in a November 2000 motorcycle crash.
Born Aug. 8, 1959, in Parsons, W.Va., he was the son of Denny Carr and Flora (Warner) Robinson, and had lived most of his life in the Andover area.
He was a member of Richmond Riders Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed hunting, four-wheeling, restoring automobiles and was a an avid Harley-Davidson rider, participating in poker runs and other motorcycling activities.
Survivors include his mother; his wife, Michelle (Estep), whom he married Nov. 7, 1992, in Dorset Township; a daughter, Ashley; a brother, Roger Robinson of Andover, and a sister, Pamela Carr of Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Frederick Robinson.
A memorial bike run will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday from Ducro Funeral Services, Jefferson Home, 17 N. Market St., Jefferson, to Mr. Carr’s home, 6542 Hall Road, Richmond Township. Anyone wishing to participate should be at Ducro’s by 10:45 a.m.
Memorial service is noon Sunday at the Carr residence. The eulogy will be given by John “Rotten” McGrath.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Charles D. Brydle
RAVENNA - Charles D. Brydle, 55, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at Robinson Memorial Hospital, Ravenna.
He was born Feb. 10, 1947, in Conneaut, to Charles L. and Mary Elizabeth (Shank) Brydle. He moved to Ravenna two years ago, formerly living in Mentor.
Mr. Brydle was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kent, the Pierpont Masonic Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star of Euclid. He was the property manager of Storage U.S.A. of Kent.
Survivors include his wife JoAnn (Church) Brydle; son Edward D. Brydle of Ravenna; daughter Susan Dadante of Madison; brother Robert Brydle of Kelloggsville; sisters Joanne Brumfield of St. Clairsville, Sally Miller of Valencia, California and Betty Loveless of Conneaut; and his father, Charles L. Brydle of Kelloggsville.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the Kelloggsville United Methodist Church, 4763 N. Monroe-Center Road, Kingsville. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
The Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, is in charge of arrangements.
Walter E. Gulick
TAMPA, Fla. - Walter E. Gulick, 84, of Tampa, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at University Community Hospital in Tampa.
He was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Randolph, N.Y., the son of Herbert E. and Delia Gulick.
He moved to Florida four years ago from Conneaut.
Mr. Gulick was a salesman for the Metropolitan Insurance Company.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Coudersport, Pa., the Eastern Star in Conneaut, the Amboy Rifle Club and the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Conneaut.
Mr. Gulick was a master wood carver and an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include a daughter, Gail Ott of Tampa, Fla., four grandchildren, Hal Ott Jr., Diane Cooper, Nancy and Barbie Ott; and one great-grandson, Brendon.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Betty; and one brother, Robert.
Services were held Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Zephyrhills, Fla. The Rev. Craig Ford officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Conneaut, or to the American Cancer Society.
The Kelly Memorial Funeral Home, 5221 Eighth St., Zephyrhills, Fla., was in charge of the arrangements.
Lois Ann Tracy
PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP - Lois Ann Tracy, 71, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at her home.
She was born April 16, 1930 in Warren to Elden and Hilda (Vihljama) Cain. She married Elmer Tracy Feb. 25, 1950. Mrs. Tracy and her husband in Ashtabula together most of their lives.
Mrs. Tracy was a housewife and was a nurse's aide at Ashtabula County Nursing Home for a short time.
She enjoyed spending time with the ladies from the East Congregation of Jehovah's Witness Church, where she was a member.
Survivors include her husband; daughters Lynn Tracy of Kingsville and Lori Lock of Pueblo, Colo.; brothers Ronald Cain of North Carolina and Robert Cain of Pennsylvania; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dale Eugene, and sister Wanda Fox.
Service is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the East Congregation of Jehovah's Witness in Ashtabula, officiated by Donald G. Mack. A private graveside service will be at Edgewood Cemetery.

David W. Drummond
MONROE TOWNSHIP - David W. Drummond, 75, of Scriber Road, died Friday January 31, 2003, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pa.
He was born August 6, 1928, in Washington, Pa. and had been a resident of Monroe Township since 1958, formerly of Youngstown.
Mr. Drummond enjoyed the outdoors and operating his oil and gas wells.
He was a member of the merchant marines and served during World War II.
Mr. Drummond is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Avery), whom he married Oct. 5, 2002; three sons, David A. of Conneaut, Rex K. and Frank A. of Monroe Township; a daughter, Paula Jane of Monroe Township; two stepdaughters, Alice Post and Saundra Sullivan, both of Ashtabula; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Mary Berganti of Boardman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Pauline and his infant son, Bruce, a brother, Chuck Drummond and stepsister, Sandy Drummond.
Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut with the Rev. Jerry Webb, pastor of the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
Burial will take place at the Kelloggsville Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
