Ruth A. Hull
Painesville - Ruth A. Hull, 89, of Painesville, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Homestead II in Painesville.
She was born Sept. 1, 1913, in Painesville, the daughter of Glen A. and Lillian A. (Gray) Abbey, and spent the last 10 years in Painesville. Previously, she lived in Perry.
She married Everett W. Hull on July 9, 1933, in Ripley, N.Y.
Her hobbies included fishing with her husband and caring for her flower garden. She also judged fruits and vegetables at the Lake County Fair.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Hanson of Jefferson, and Barbara Kalina of Perry; five grandchildren, Daniel Hanson, Deborah Thompson, Wayne Hanson, Justin Kalina and Jason Kalina; and nine great-grandchildren. Hull also considered the staff and residents of Homesteaders II to be part of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1975; a grandson, Duane Hanson; and two stepbrothers, Harry Sumner and Warren Sumner.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison. Burial will be at Perry Cemetery in Perry. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Anna Belle Jeffers
PAINESVILLE - Anna Belle Jeffers, 91, formerly of East Springfield, Pa., died Wednesday evening, Jan. 8, 2003, at Ivy House Nursing Home in Painesville.
She was born May 8, 1911, in Lowville, Pa., the daughter of Jesse and Elma (Hyde) Emory.
In her younger years, she worked as a cafeteria cook at an Ashtabula elementary school.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ashtabula and a former member of the Federated Church in East Springfield.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing and intricate handwork, including embroidery and crochet.
Survivors include two sons, Claude Ball of Hudson and Ronald Ball of Painesville; three daughters, Norma Cogan of Minneapolis, Minn., Nancy Secaur of Whitewater, Wis. and Nancy Brockway of Jefferson; a sister, Frances Himelein of Sherman, N.Y.; a brother, John Emory of Jamestown, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Ball; her second husband, Ralph Jeffers; two brothers and four sisters.
Service is 1 p.m. Monday, at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main St., East Springfield, Pa. Ed Huntley, pastor of the Federated Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Springfield Cemetery in East Springfield.
Calling hour at the funeral home will be noon Monday, until the time of service.

Dorothy M. Kinder
PAINESVILLE - Dorothy M. Kinder, 69, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Harbor Care Assisted Living in Fairport Harbor.
She was born April 15, 1933, in Painesville, the daughter of Albert C. and Margaret (Sauer) Breedlove and had been a lifelong Painesville resident.
She was a seamstress at the former Gary-Allen Sportswear Co., in Painesville and retired in 1996 as a nurse's aide for Homestead 2 Nursing Home in Painesville.
She was a member of First Church of Christ in Painesville and enjoyed flea markets, collecting bells and carousel horses and playing cards, especially canasta.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Kinder of Painesville and John Kinder of Fairport Harbor; four daughters, Shirley Wright of Keenesburg, Ill., Bonnie Weaver of Saybrook, Judy Barker of Braceville and Beverly Kinder of Painesville; a brother, Harold Breedlove of Concord; eight grandchildren, Jeff and Bill Kinder, Abby and Joshua Kinder, Steve Weaver and David, Brian and Rachelle Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grover Carl Kinder, in 1991; three brothers, Charles, Arthur and Lloyd Breedlove; and a granddaughter, Katie Kinder.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

James H. Wilson
PAINESVILLE - James H. Wilson, 88, lifelong resident of Painesville died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at Lake Med and Rehabilitation Center in Painesville Township.
He was born Oct. 28, 1914 in Thompson.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the United Methodist Church of Painesville, Temple Lodge 28 F& AM of Painesville, Lake Erie Consistory Valley of Cleveland and Painesville Elks Lodge 549 BPOE.
He enjoyed being a private pilot and retired in 1972 as chief engineer for the Painesville Municipal Light Plant.
Survivors include his daughters, Kim Hurley of Painesville Township and Eva Thomas of Concord Township; and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Katherine Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dan and sister, Ruth Brezee.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, with the Rev. Gerald D. Kalb of United Methodist Church of Painesville officiating.
Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

David W. Egeland
PAINESVILLE - David W. Egeland, 59, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at his home.
He was born Aug. 1, 1942, in Painesville, the son of Earl and Myrna (Williams) Egeland, and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1960 Riverside High School graduate, he worked at Lonza in Painesville from 1967 to 1992, and at Tri Delta, Mentor, from 1992 to 2001.
He was a member of the Goodtime Cruisers Club, Painesville; the Corvair Club of Painesville, BPO Elks 549, Painesville, and the Lake County Rod and Gun Club.
He was avid fisherman and golfer, and a classic car enthusiast.
Survivors include two sons, David H. of Phoenix, Ariz., and Eric of Painesville; two brothers, Howard of Painesville, and James of Geneva-on-the-Lake; a sister, Marci Thiery of Lorain; and longtime companion, Jonrae McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.

Charles W. Hawkins
PAINESVILLE - Charles W. Hawkins, 91, of Painesville, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Alter Care of Mentor in Concord Township.
He was born Jan. 9, 1911, in Montville, the son of William and Jenny Hawkins.
He retired from the Diamond Shamrock Co., in Painesville, in 1976, where he was a machinist. He also worked at Ohio Rubber.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Painesville, where he sang in the choir; the Diamond Men's choir; the Diamond Toastmasters Club; Temple Lodge No. 28 F&AM of Painesville; Urania Chapter No. 284 Order of the Eastern Star; Lake Erie Consistory Valley of Cleveland; Al Koran Shrine of Cleveland; Caliph Grotto of Lake and Geauga counties; Painesville Coin Club; Painesville Senior Citizens; and the Lake County Nurseryman's Association. He did landscaping in Lake County.
Survivors include daughters Nancy Egeland and Valerie Hunter, both of Painesville, and Janet Ruszkai of Coldwater, Mich.; a son, Charles Hawkins Jr. of Rock Creek; grandchildren Mark and Craig Egeland, Steve Ruszkai, Kelly Brown, Rebecca Birousek, Jill Murrin, Heidi Hunter, Emily Morris and Katie and Amanda Hawkins; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by hßis parents; his wife, the former Ruth Becker, on Jan. 21, 2002; a son, David; and sisters Genevieve Merck and Elizabeth Trout.
Service is 1 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville. The Rev. Gerald D. Kalb, of United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Mentor Cemetery.
Calling hour at the funeral home will be noon Saturday until the time of service. Masonic services by Temple Lodge will be 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
