Barbara A. Byers
PAINESVILLE - Barbara A. Byers, 73, of Eastlake, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born on February 15, 1930, in Painesville, she was a graduate of Harvey High School. She enjoyed cooking, camping, and crocheting.
Survivors include her 2nd husband, Robert Byers of Eastlake; four sons, Larry Humpolick of Middlefield, Joseph Humpolick of Geneva, Thomas Humpolick of Eastlake, and Ronald (Pam) Humpolick of Terre Haute, IN; two sisters, Nancy Dalton of Painesville, and Charlotte Kish of Painesville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Joseph Humpolick, in 1984; and a son, Charles, in 1969.
Private Graveside Services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2003. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2003, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville, OH 44077.
Sylvia M. Gribble
PAINESVILLE - Sylvia May Hockman Gribble, 71, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Madison Health Care Center, Madison Township.
She was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Ridgeley, W.Va., the daughter of Edward R. and Mildred V. (Lease) Albright.
She was employed at Red Rooster, May Co. and The Beachcomber as a waitress.
She was an avid participant in Alcoholics Anonymous, enjoyed dancing, roller skating and the theater.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Matheson of Sarasota, Fla., Paula Arra of Willoughby, and Tina Loth of Painesville; two sons, Paul David Hockman of Painesville and Kenneth Hockman of Painesville; seven grandchildren and a brother, "Punchy" Albright of Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Hockman; her second husband, Joseph Gribble; a son, Dale Hockman; a brother, Dale Albright; and a sister, June Hockman.
Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St. Madison. Burial will be in Madison Memorial Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Bryan A. Sprankle
PAINESVILLE - Bryan Alvin Sprankle, 64, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 13, 1938 in Huntington Pa.
A 40-year resident of Painesville, formerly of Ashtabula, Sprankle was employed for 20 years as a repairman for Air Tool Service Co. in Mentor, retiring in 1989.
He served with the Army as a paratrooper in Germany. He was Past Master of Hartsgrove Lodge 397 F&AM, the Fairport Harbor Rod and Reel Club, Rock Creek Conservation Club and Little Mountain Free Trappers. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and boating.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, to whom his was married since Sept. 16, 1961; a son, Bryan Sprankle, of North Perry; three daughters, Shirley Tash, Wendy Lengyel and Shannon Roberts, all of Painesville; his father, John Riley, three sisters, Elizabeth Meany and Clara Galliazzo, both of Ashtabula, and Martha Albright, of Claysburg, Pa.; and seven grandchildren, Michael, Kristen, Tyler, Emily, Mathew, Chel-Cee and Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Olive (Jenkins) Riley, and two brothers, John and Gregory Sprankle, .
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Masonic services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home,

Margaret M. Gain
PAINESVILLE - Margaret Mary Gain, 66, of Painesville, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby.
She was born July 7, 1935, in Painesville, and was a lifelong resident.
She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Fairport and the church's Women's Fellowship. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include two sons, Leroy Gain Jr. of Painesville, and Daniel Gain of Fairport; daughters Margie Gain, Amber Gain, Norma Crissey and Cheryl Becks, all of Painesville, and Darlene Harber of Virginia; a brother, John Yuhaz of Madison; sisters Irene Kish of Fairport, Betty Curtis of California, and Katie Laurel of Hawaii; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her former husband, Leroy Gain Sr.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Nunley, in 1959; a brother, Elmer Nyznik; a sister, Florence Hegybeli; and granddaughter Carlene Becks.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 601 Plum St., Fairport Harbor. The Rev. Louis Medgyesi will officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville.

Gerald J. Watson
FAIRPORT HARBOR - Gerald J. Watson, 77, of Fairport Harbor, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Lake East Hospital in Painesville.
He was born Aug. 1, 1924, in Wellington.
He served with the Army during World War II, and retired in July 1987 as a machine operator at Bethendale in Mentor.
He was an avid Painesville Speedway for 35 years, never missing a night of racing until the onset of his illness. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, the former Eleanor Hardway; a daughter, Bonnie Christian of Geneva; a son, William Watson of Geneva; a son, Tom Wilson of Millersburg; daughters Samantha Toth of Painesville, and Glenna Guzzi of Fairport Harbor; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters Virginia Ransom of Perry, and Betty Davidson of Madison; and a brother, Robert of Perry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Stanley Wilson, in 1966; a sister, Carlene Davis; and a daughter, Laura Mae Watson.
Service is 10 a.m. today at the Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville. The Rev. John Thomson of First Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be at Western Reserve Memorial Garden in Chester Township.

Patricia Flacke
FAIRPORT HARBOR - Patricia Flacke, 71, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at her home.
She was born March 17, 1930, in Cleveland, the daughter of Joseph and Georginia (Perkins) Casey, and had lived in the Fairport Harbor area for 40 years, coming from Perry.
She was manager of the former Ben Franklin store in Painesville, and retired after working 20 years as a bookkeeper for Aruta Drug, Madison.
She was a member of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie 2278, Painesville. She enjoyed crafts, ceramics and playing bingo.
Survivors include her former husband, Gerald Flacke; two daughters, Coreen Ferris of Fairport Harbor, and Cindee Khakdoust of Chagrin Falls; a sister, Theresa Hines of Ashtabula; and 10 grandchildren Paul and Patrick Palmer, Ralicia, Jonathan, Avrael and Autumn Ferris, Landon, Sophia, Tiffany and Olivia Khakdoust.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Paul Palmer, in 1985.
Family and friends will gather between 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday, at 422 New St., Fairport Harbor.
