Ted was born August 4th, 1926 in North Kingsville, OH and was a life long resident of North Kingsville except for 2 years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married the love of his life, Jessie (Cox) on November 27, 1948. They raised four children together on their 48-acre family farm in North Kingsville, OH.
From the time Ted was a young boy, he loved to travel the open road. When he turned 14, he received his early driver’s permit and started driving trucks for his father, G. N. Crowther in his new trucking business. From that moment on, he had no doubt what his profession would be- trucking and transportation. He had outstanding mechanical skills, which were only exceeded by his recollection of roadmaps. He literally knew every back road and short cut from Chicago to New York to Orlando, Florida where he and Jessie enjoyed many winters in the warm Florida climate in their later years. He was loyal, hard-working, self-made man of great Christian faith who loved his family, his work and his country.
Ted leaves behind his wife Jessie of 63 years and his children; Cynthia (David) Fish of Madison, OH, Patricia (Michael) Pearce of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany and Charles (Cathy) Crowther of The Woodlands, TX. He also had nine grandchildren: Jennifer (William) Spruill of Sacramento, CA, Richard (Michelle) Howe of Bellevue, NE, Jason (Catherine) Gintert of North Field, OH, Melissa Gintert of Charlotte, NC, Bethany (Oliver) Giles of Vienna, VA, Michael Crowther of Austin, TX, and Ryan Crowther of The Woodlands, TX and seven great grand-children.
