Gerald A. Denslow
MADISON - Gerald A. Denslow, 59, of Madison, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at Lake East Hospital.
Born on August 17, 1943 in Painesville, he was the son of Olid and Anne Denslow.
He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and belonged to the Madison VFW.
He worked as a laborer at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant.
Survivors include his mother, Anne Denslow of Madison; three children, Clara Guzman, Theresa Lyon, and Gerald Denslow, all of AZ; sister, Shirley (David) Heinly of Ashtabula; brother, Kenneth (Mary Lou) Denslow of Geneva; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Olid Denslow; and two sisters, Judith Lupton, and Marjorie Endress.
Friends will be received at the POTTI FUNERAL HOME, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison, on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at the POTTI FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Madison Memorial Cemetery.
Nyda E. Burgess
MADISON - Nyda E. Burgess, 74, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, at Heather Hill Nursing Home in Munson Township.
She was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of Robert and Kathryn Lash. She was a longtime Madison resident.
Mrs. Burgess retired seven years ago from the Madison School District, where she was a secretary at Red Bird Elementary School.
She was a member of the North Madison Church of Christ.
Survivors include children Nyda Ann Gallitio of Madison; David Burgess of Beaumont, Texas; Jeffry Burgess of Nederland, Texas; Joyce Stewart of Madison; Steve Burgess of Madison; Tresa Lawson of Madison; and Tami Russell of Fairport Harbor; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, in 1993; a daughter, Janet Burgess; a granddaughter, Stephanie Lawson; her parents; and a brother, William Lash.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison. The Rev. Jerry L. Hillyer of North Madison Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Erma J. Kostan
MADISON - Erma J. Kostan, 60, of Bennett Road, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Cleveland Clinic.
She was born in Buckhannon County, Va., the daughter of Earnest C. and Nancy (Fuller) Mullins.
She had been a Lake County resident for 22 years.
Mrs. Kostan was employed for 20 years as a secretary for Dworken Bernestein, attorneys in Painesville, and worked for Dworken Realty.
She married George Kostan on July 30, 1977, in Ashtabula.
Mrs. Kostan enjoyed spending time with her family, studying scripture and was active in her faith.
Survivors include her husband, George; two sons, Christopher of Strongsville, James of Painesville; granddaughter, Mira Ann Kostan; four sisters, Dolly Faye Furguson and Mildred Davidson both of Ashtabula, Evelyn Smallwood of Geneva, Juanita Stein of North Kingsville and a brother, Percy James Mullins of Knoxville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Stefan; two brothers, Otis and Viril Mullins and sister, Rosalie Blair.
Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Annes in the Field Episcopal Church, 5236 Middle Ridge Road, Madison, with the Rev. Frederick Fick of Charismatic Episcopal Church of Great Lakes Diocese officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Geneva.
Calling hours will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.

Daniel T. Hayes
MADISON - Daniel T. Hayes, 75, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1927, in New Haven, Conn., the son of Jack and Theodora (Omanski) Hayes.
He married Jane Elizabeth Hard on Oct. 7, 1950, in Red Hook, N.Y.
He earned an engineering degree from Yale University and was vice-president of sales for Premix in Ashtabula.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Cathy Crawford of Avon Lake, Sue Webster of Madison, and Beth Hayes of Cleveland Heights; three grandchildren, Joshua and Ian Webster, and Leah Barron; a brother, Cornelius Hayes; and a sister, Veronica Gagnon of Connecticut.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Danny.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Chapel United Methodist Church, 2019 Hubbard Road, Madison, with the Rev. Vernon Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Red Hook, N.Y.
No calling hours will be observed.

Norman J. Reynolds
MADISON - Norman J. Reynolds, 50, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003 at his residence. He was born June 24, 1952 in Painesville, the son of Rolland and Ida (Belfi) Reynolds.
He lived in Madison for three months, moving from Painesville.
Mr. Reynolds was a dye maker at Pilot Run Stamping in Mentor. He belonged to Painesville Assembly of God Church, North America Hunts Club and the National Rifle Association.
He had served in the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Susan (Todd) Reynolds; four daughters, Laura Reho, Sharon Reynolds, Denise Reynolds and Michele Reynolds, all of Madison; a son Norman J. Reynolds, Jr. of Madison, two stepdaughters, Stacy Dezendorf of Andover and Vicky Cameron of Painesville; five stepsons, Bradley Cameron of Conneaut, David Cameron of Ashtabula, Jeff Cameron of Ashtabula, Steven Cameron of North Carolina and Greg Cameron of Jefferson; a brother, Jerry Reynolds of Painesville; a half brother, Roland Reynolds of West Virginia; two sisters, Beverly Ede of Painesville and Hazel Stone of Perry; and 23 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Painesville Assembly of God Church, 10949 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Painesville.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Potty Funeral Home, 1009 Mentor Ave., Painesville.
Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.
Margaret Yvonne Wall
MADISON - Margaret Yvonne Wall, 50, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
She was born Aug. 23, 1951, in Red Ash, Va., the daughter of Elliott and Myrtle (Charles) Lawson.
Mrs. Wall had been a Madison resident since 1967.
She was a shipping clerk at 3M Corp., and was a Madison High School graduate.
Mrs. Wall enjoyed gardening and flowers, doing crafts and collecting dolls.
Survivors include her husband, Fred, a son, Fred Jr. of Tacoma, Wash; two grandchildren, Mariah and Sierre Wall; her parents, Myrtle and Elliott Lawson of Madison; two sisters, Shelby King and Mary Lillie of Madison; and seven brothers, Jerry, Leslie, and Ronald Lawson, all of Madison and Lee, David and Dennis Lawson, all of Mentor and Kenneth Lawson of Pierpont Township.
Service is 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. Gordon Densmore officiating.
Visitation is 6 p.m., until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
