Jack D. Mackey
MADISON - Jack Donald Mackey, 70, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Born Aug. 2, 1932, in Painesville, he was the son of Jacob E. and Helia (Nieminen) Mackey. He married Martha-Jo Fahnestock on June 8, 1957, in Painesville.
Mr. Mackey worked as an industrial arts teacher at Madison High School for 31 years.
He was a former member of Madison Kiwanis Club, a member of Painesville United Methodist Church, and a former member of Park United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Beth Clipper of Dexter, Mich.; two grandchildren, Amanda and Kevin; and a brother, Merle S. Mackey of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marilyn Hisey.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. Gerald Kalb, of Painesville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Madison.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Helen M. Brewster
MADISON - Helen Mildred Brewster, 88, of Madison, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 17, 1914, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Eva (Maki) and Charles Wuori.
She was a secretary and retired from the former Fasson Co. (now Avery Dennison) in Painesville.
She married William A. Brewster July 10, 1937, in Ashtabula.
She was a member of Perry Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith M. Brewster of Madison; a son, Tom Brewster of Madison; a grandson, Scott Brewster; and a stepgrandson, Ricky Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1986; and a sister, Viola Ketola.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Perry Christian Church, 3566 Center St., Perry. The Rev. Will Stackhouse, of Perry Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Perry Cemetery, in Perry.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.

Vernon M. Gress
MADISON - Vernon M. Gress, 77, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, in Cleveland.
He was born July 26, 1925, in Painesville, a son of AP and Rose Gress and was a lifelong resident of Madison.
Mr. Gress was a car salesman for Frank Stanton Ford Motors for 25 years and was president and owner of Gress AMC, Jeep and Mazda; which he built in 1976.
He was past president of the Madison Lions Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Claudia Bently of Madison; his son, Todd of Madison; four grandchildren, Vern, Vivien, and Chloe Bentley; and two brothers, Peter of Madison and Tom of Geneva.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in 1999; his parents; a sister, Jane Lastition; and three brothers, Ray, Dick, and Gerald "Shorty.
A private graveside service was held with the Rev. James Sutton of New Mercy Community Church, Burton, officiating.

Margaret E. Nash
MADISON - Margaret E. Nash, 81, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, in Hospice House, Cleveland.
She was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Madison, to Harry Willis and Ethel Viola (Wilson) Nash.
Ms. Nash was a 1939 graduate of Madison High School. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1943 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
She began her nursing career in 1943 at Lake County Memorial Hospital in Painesville. She was a public health nurse for the city of Cleveland and a head nurse and assistant to the afternoon supervisor at University Hospitals. While at the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, she served the Bedford community and schools. She held various additional nursing positions, including night supervisor at Rainbow Babies' and Children's Hospital.
Ms. Nash was an active member of the Central Congregational Church since the late 1940s. She served in various positions including historian, choir member and bell ringer. She loved animals, especially her cats and horse.
She was a correspondent for many area newspapers. She loved her community and was skilled at communicating its history and ongoing concerns.
Survivors include sister Catherine Merkel of Bay Village, brother John Stephen Nash of Madison and 19 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Frink, and brother Harry "Heinie" Nash.
Service is 4:30 p.m. Friday at Central Congregational Church, 71 Park St., Madison. Burial is in Unionville Cemetery, Unionville. Private family graveside service will take place prior to the memorial service.
There will be no visitation.

Sophia Ann Wetzel
MADISON - Sophia Ann Wetzel, 83, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Madison Health Care.
Born May 15, 1917, in Republic, Pa., she lived in Cleveland before moving to Madison 31 years ago.
Mrs. Wetzel worked in Cleveland at the Columbia Electric Co.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was active in renewal and Cursillo.
Survivors include one brother, Louis Novak of Lakewood; and two sisters: Rose Tentler of California, Pa., and Louise Schroner of Parma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1986; two sisters; and four brothers.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, with the Rev. Luigi Miola officiating.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison.
Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.
Frank B. Wesolowski
MADISON - Frank B. Wesolowski, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Western Reserve Health Care in Kirtland.
Mr. Wesolowski was a machinist at Coe Manufacturing in Painesville before retiring in 1982.
He is survived by two sons, Christopher Wesolowski, of Perry, and Dale Wesolowski, of Eastlake; a brother, Joseph Wesolowski; four sisters, Stephanie Barnett, Ann Kichielinski, Barbara Myszko and Genevieve Schrecongost; three grandchildren, Bryan, Brittany and Violet Wesolowski.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Coletta, a son, Frank, sisters, Sophie Kaczmarec and Nancy Kortovich, brothers, John and Thomas Wesolowski, and his parents, Stanley and Stella Wesolowski.
A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Rd., Madison. Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Rd., Madison.
Kenneth D. Cain
MADISON - Kenneth Dwain Cain, 67, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, in the Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cleveland.
He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Tanner W.Va., the son of Columbus D. and Izen (Anderson) Cain.
Mr. Cain married Doris Bower on March 12, 1955, in West Virginia.
He was an administrator at TRW Valve Division.
Mr. Cain enjoyed golf, reading, baseball, football and coin collecting.
Survivors include his wife, Doris of Madison; two sons, Stan Cain of Perry, and Jeffrey Cain of Eastlake; four grandchildren, Kenny, Ashley, Jeffrey Jr., and Tamara; a brother, Franklin Cain of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a sister, Ruth Adams of Deltona, Fla.; a half sister, Lola Worthington of Parkersburg; and a half brother, Audrey Cain of Parkersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. Stephen Fisher, of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Perry Cemetery, Perry.
