Timothy J. Winters Jr.
MADISON TOWNSHIP - Timothy James "TJ" Winters Jr., 26, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 7, 1977, in Chardon.
Mr. Winters was employed by R.W. Sidley Inc. in Thompson. He was a member of American Legion Post 601 as a Son of the Legion. He enjoyed Dodge cars and trucks and raced at the Thompson Drag Raceway. He enjoyed being with his family.
Survivors include his parents Rodney and Mary (Hoffman-Winters) Bias of Madison; sisters Sarah and Rosemary Bias; brother Rodney Bias Jr; grandparents Nancy Winters of Montville, Herb and Mary Lou Hoffman of Mentor and Emil and Reva Bias of Madison; and longtime girlfriend Jenny Graham of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his father Timothy James Winters Sr. and grandfather James R. Winters.
Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at North Madison Church of Christ, 6835 North Ridge Road (Route 20), Madison, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Hilliard. Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road (Route 528), Madison.
Contributions may be made to the family.

Mary L. Kump
MADISON - Mary Lillian Marvagene (Jeanie) (McNabb) Kump, 78, a former Willowick resident, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, in Mayfield.
Born June 9, 1924, in Palmer, Tenn., she was a well-known musician in the Lake County area for many years. She brought smiles to many people with her piano playing and songs.
Survivors include five daughters, Marvene E. Korb of Twinsburg, Demetrice Parcell of Houston, Annice Ely of Madison, Dreama Aveni of Mayfield, and Teresa Shampay of Mentor; two brothers, Crandall McNabb of Jasper, Tenn., and Thomas McNabb of Eastlake; a sister, Charlotte Patti of Florida; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husbands Leeroy Smartt and John Kump; and two brothers, Marion and David McNabb.
Service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison, with the Rev. Vernon Shepherd, of Chapel United Methodist Church of Madison, officiating.
Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor, 44060.

Frances Klein
MADISON - Frances (Jakomin) Klein, 101, of Madison, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
She was born Feb. 21, 1900, Horjul Vrhnika, Yugoslavia. A former Cleveland resident, Mrs. Klein lived in Madison the past 70 years.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, in Madison.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances Williams and Lillian Shepherd, both of Madison; two sisters, Angela Kulka, of Mentor, and Jean Korosec, of Louisiana; one brother, Joseph Jakomin, of Euclid; seven grandchildren, Carol Gockerell, William and Joseph Shepherd, Debbie Price, May Hill, Shirley Powell, and Jim Williams; 28 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton; grandson Thomas Shepherd; great-granddaughter Ashley; and two brothers and a sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison. The Rev. Luigi Miola will officiate. Burial will be in Madison Memorial Cemetery, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Potti Funeral Home, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison.

Charles W. Holcomb
MADISON - Charles W. "Gus" Holcomb, 69, of Fifth Street, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at LakeEast Hospital, Painesville.
He was born Oct. 6, 1931, in Rupert, W.Va., the son of Opha and Mable "Teddy" (Day) Holcomb.
He had lived in Madison for 11 years, coming from Kirtland.
Mr. Holcomb worked as a hydro-press operator for General Electric for 37 years before retiring in 1993.
He married Elba T. Galvan on May, 26, 1955, in Puerto Rico.
He served in the U.S. Air Force until his discharge in 1960.
Mr. Holcomb was an avid fan of bowling, baseball and boxing, and had excellent athletic abilities. He was a member of the Geneva Church of the Nazarene and a former member of the Willow Lake Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy L. Holcomb of Madison; a son, Charles W. of Jefferson; two grandchildren, Amanda and Elaina; and a sister, Mary Lou Beverage of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is noon Friday at the Geneva Church of the Nazarene, 710 Centennial St., Geneva. The Rev. Shirley Deemer will officiate. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Garden, Chester Township
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St., Geneva.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society or the Geneva Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Maurice G. Curtis
MADISON - Maurice G. Curtis, 80, died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at LakeEast Hospital, Painesville.
Mr. Curtis was born April 11, 1921, in Corning, the son of Richard and Margaret (Morris) Curtis.
A Madison resident since 1953, he also lived in Fairport Harbor and Perry. He married Marie Zeman on Aug. 18, 1945, in Fairport Harbor.
Mr. Curtis was a farmer and also worked at Diamond Alkali. He was an avid outdoorsman and a charter member of the Lake County Rod and Gun Club. He also was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Immaculate Conception Church, Madison Township.
He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judith Petraitis of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Janet White of Fairfax Station, Va.; a son, Richard of Hillsdale, Mich.; six grandchildren, Lisa, Meredith, Anna, Erica, Kristin and Nolan; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Shepherd of Fairport Harbor; three brothers, Thomas R. of Fairport Harbor, James H. of Madison and Harry W. of Concord.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Raymond and Donald.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison Township, with the Rev. Luigi Miola officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Madison.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River St., Madison.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, in care of Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison 44057.

Carol J. Boerner
MADISON - Carol Jane Boerner, 74, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at her home.
Born Sept. 20, 1926, in Warren, she was the daughter of Carroll and Marian Wohlgamuth.
Mrs. Boerner grew up in Cleveland and graduated from the Cadet Nurse Corps of Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing in 1947.
After marrying A. Richard Boerner, she lived in Circleville and Warren; Mattoon, Ill.; Schenectady, N.Y.; Owensboro, Ky.; and spent the last 30 years in Madison.
Mrs. Boerner was an active member of the Central Congregational Church in Madison.
She was a practicing nurse at various times in her life and an accomplished soprano soloist. She loved flowers, gardening and baking.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Arthur of Jeffersonville, Ind., James of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Tom of Land-o-Lakes, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Central Congregational Church, 71 Park St., Madison.

Mary R. Schoemer
MADISON - Mary R. Schoemer, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000 at the Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 28, 1916 in West Mifflin, Pa. the daughter of William and Romilda (Ruby) Demmel. She married Sylvester B. Schoemer July of 1942 in Biloxi, Miss.
Mrs. Schoemer was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.
She is survived by two sons, James of Las Vegas, Nev. and Robert of Madison; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Finney of Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; her parents; a brother, William Demmel and a sister, Clara Delaney.
Funeral services and burial were held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Hill, Pa.
Arrangements were made by Behm Family Funeral Homes Inc., Madison.
