Betty J. Evans
MADISON - Betty Jane Evans, 79, of Madison, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Inn-Madison Health Center in Madison.
She was born March 21, 1924, in East Liverpool, the daughter of Helen (Evans) and Ray Stephens, and lived 43 years in Mentor before moving to Madison in 1997.
She worked for the Bureau of Support for 26 years, and was also a homemaker.
She married Ernest A. Evans, in Cleveland, in 1943.
She was salutatorian of her high school class and earned an associate's degree in accounting from Lakeland Community College. She was active in many church and community organizations over the years, often holding leadership positions.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Tamburo of Thompson; three sons, Ernest S. Evans of Campobella, S.C., Michael J. Evans of Concord, and Stephen F. Evans of Erie, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1971; and a son, Robert L. Evans, in 2001.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison. The Rev. Luigi Miola, church pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family or a favorite charity.

Maysel I. Jarvis
MADISON - Maysel I. Jarvis, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003 at her home. She was born Jan. 31, 1914 in Clay County, W.Va., the daughter of Levia (Rollins) and Samuel E. Hyer.
She married Sidney Jarvis May 24, 1936 in West Virginia.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening and sewing and was a member of the Park United Methodist Church, Madison and Rebecca’s Lakeside. She enjoyed spending the winters in Florida with her husband.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Mollohan and Shennett Gibson, both of Madison; one son, Samuel G. Jarvis of Jefferson City, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, Don, Greg and Mike Mollohan, Debbie DePledge, Cindy Swiger, Kathy Kuhn, Robin Brueggeman, Susie Farinacci, Sherrie Katulick, Duane Jarvis, Beth Norris and Heather Rumbut; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1997; two brothers, Van and Virgil Hyer; and a sister, Murial Blucker.
Service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. William Alvey of Park United Methodist Church, Madison, officiating.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery, Madison.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor 44060.

Elsie C. Wolf
MADISON ­ Elsie C. Wolf, 86, of Madison, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Inn-Madison Health Center.
She was born April 2, 1916, in Madison, a daughter of Frank and Clara (Harcsarik) Kalnasy.
She married Harold Wolf on July 6, 1942, in Napoleon.
Mrs. Wolf was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Madison. She moved to Madison, in 1976, from Cleveland Heights.
Survivors include a son, Martin Wolf, of San Jose, Calif.; three grandchildren, Terese Ruffino, Rebecca Wolf and Martin Wolf Jr.; one great-grandson; and a sister, Margaret Cz of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Kathleen Wheeler; and a brother, Frank Kalnasy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, with the Rev. Luigi Miola, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery, Madison.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.

Lucy T. Blouin
MADISON - Lucy T. Blouin, 78, died Sunday, May 26, 2002, at Heather Hill Hospital and Health Care Center in Chardon.
Mrs. Blouin was born Dec. 13, 1923, in Wiskey Run, Pa., the daughter of Angelina (Marucca) and Louis Gallo.
She married Russell N. Blouin on May 5, 1946.
She was a dietitian who retired from Geneva Memorial Hospital in 1987.
Mrs. Blouin was a member of American Legion Post 601 and the Erie Shores Golf League. She loved bowling and bingo.
Survivors include his two daughters, Terry Gerred-Ditchcreek of Madison and Lorraine Edwards of Rohnert Park, Calif.; son Nelson Blouin of Richmond Heights; sister Sara Jedick of Avon Lake; six grandchildren, Michelle, Jennifer, Bobby, Anne, Tara and Steven; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1978; and sister, Geneva.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2846 Hubbard Road, Madison, with the Rev. Luigi Miola officiating.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River St., Madison.

Marion Troje
MADISON - Marion Troje, 76, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
She was born Oct. 7, 1926 in Cleveland, the daughter of Fannie (Fink) and Ferdinand Troje.
She was a Geneva/Madison area resident since 1980, moving from Warrensville.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Willingham of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and a brother, Joe Troje of Prospect, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Grave side services and burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland. Services will be announced at a later date.
The Behm Family Funeral Home, Inc., 26 River St., Madison is handling the arrangements.

Evelyn R. Holden
MADISON - Evelyn R. Holden, 80, of Lake Grove, Geneva-on-the-Lake, died Monday, May 26, 2003, in Madison Health Care, Madison.
Born on October 7, 1922, in Geneva, OH, she was the daughter of James F. and Flossie I. (Allen) Branford and has been a Geneva resident all her life.
Mrs. Holden was a graduate of Geneva High School. On May 16, 1942, she married Harry E. Holden in Geneva. She was the owner of Holden Court Cottages of Geneva-on-the-Lake for 35 years. She also liked flower gardening and was a Tap Dance Teacher.
Survivors include her husband, Harry E. Holden; one son, Richard of Shelby, OH; two daughters, Linda Stoneback of Madison, and Deborah Schultz of Geneva; two grandchildren, Andrew Rowley of SC, and Jacob Holden of Dublin, OH; and two brothers, Donald of Geneva, and Cecil of Ft. McCoy, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Clara Shemel.
Friends and relatives may gather at Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman Street, Geneva, to remember Evelyn's life with the family, on Sunday, June 1, 2003, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ireland Cancer Center (corner of Mentor and Heisley Rd.), Mentor, Ohio 44060. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Arrangements are being handled by the Donald E. Walker Funeral Home, Geneva.

Janice E. Burke
MADISON - Janice E. Burke, 68, of Madison, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at UHHS Memorial Hospital of Geneva.
Born Aug. 31, 1932, in Byesville, she was the daughter of Ellis and Ruth (Kackley) Moffatt and had been a Lake County resident since 1959.
She married Donald Burke on Feb. 15, 1957, in Byesville.
Mrs. Burke was a homemaker. She also was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was an AWANA Childrens Club leader.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carol Schmidt of Oak Forest, Ill.; two sons, Joseph of Mentor and Ron of Geneva; 10 grandchildren, Mallory, Mikayla, Benjamin, Leah, Donald, Joseph, Jennifer, Nicole, Stephanie and Andrew; and a sister, Carol Selders of Byesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Service is 10 a.m. Monday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. Robert Ladygo of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in North Madison Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
