Jane Wilden, 76, of Cadiz, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville, OH. She was born December 27, 1928 in New Philadelphia, OH, a daughter of the late Alvertus and Bessie Angel Phillips.
She attended the Adena United Methodist Church, and was an avid Bingo player in the Cadiz area. She was a member of the Cadiz Aerie 2162, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary for over forty years, she served the club as past Madam President, and was its Secretary for twenty nine and a half years. She also held District and Zone Offices for the FOE Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilden in 1982; four brothers, Ralph, Buss and Howard Lawrence, and Jesse Phillips; and three sisters, Ruth Ross, Helen Angeloni, and Phyllis Kennedy.
Surviving are a son, William and his wife, Beth Wilden of Cadiz; three daughters, Linda and her husband, Rick Wheeldin of Cadiz, Beverly and her husband, Leonard Snyder of Wellston, OH, and Sandy and her husband, Dean Huffman of Burbank, OH; six grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Ashley Wheeldin, Jane Snyder, Jimmy and his wife, Becky Snyder, Casey and Heidi Huffman, and Sarah Wilden; a great granddaughter, Raegan Wheeldin; a brother Paul Phillips; and a sister, Marie Stuber, both of Dover, OH.
Friends may call Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. James McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery. The FOE Auxiliary will conduct services at 6:45 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Margaret Lynn

Margaret Lynn, 86, of Cadiz, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born February 16, 1918 in Orrville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harvey and Alta Miller Gardner.
She was a member of the New Athens Presbyterian Church, and was a former Linotype Operator for the Cadiz Republican.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lynn in 1995; a sister, Alice Hahn; and a brother, Howard Gardner.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Jane Washburn of Farmington, NM; two granddaughters, Amy Spiwak of Phoeniz, AZ and Jennifer Hawthorne of Farmington, NM; two great grandchildren, Kyler and Kailee Spiwak; a brother, Ralph Gardner; five sisters, Esther Oetzel, Bessie Towles and Miriam Antill, all of Orrville, Marie Abel of Cadiz, and Ruth Schlabach of Walnut Creek.

Edna L. Wade

Edna L. Wade, 89, of Jewett, formerly of Steubenville, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville, Ohio. She was born July 8, 1915 in Adena, Ohio, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dowdle.
She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of America.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wade Sr. in 1977; and a brother and a sister, Bud and Sis.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth Wade, Jr. of Crumpton, MD and two sisters, Dorothy and Pat.
A private service was held at the convenience of the family at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz. Burial was in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates.

Allen L. Thompson
February 12, 1938 - January 02, 2005
Allen L. Thompson, 66, of Jewett, formerly of Flushing and Piedmont, Ohio, died Sunday at Twin City Hospital, Dennison. He was born February 12, 1938 in Harrison County, Ohio, a son of the late Oscar and Bessie Carrothers Thompson.
He was a former Coal Miner with Consolidation Coal Company and attended the Nottingham Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Johnson.
Surviving are two sons, Terry Thompson of Prescott AZ and Jeffrey Thompson of Mesa, AZ; a daughter, Lisa Kavanagh of Chandler, AZ; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Covert of Hollywood, FL, Virginia Ullrich of Rockford, IL, and Ella Perkins of Sherrodsville, OH.

Earle L. Kimmel

Earle L. Kimmel, 90, of Jewett, died Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz. He was born September 22, 1915 in Archer Twp., Harrison County, Ohio, a son of the late Rupert R. and Anna P. Chalfant Kimmel.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Jewett; a graduate of Jewett High School; a member of the American Legion and the Jewett Sportsman's Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virbel M. Russell Kimmel, whom he married March 9, 1937, in 1988; two brothers, George and Royal R. Kimmel; two sisters, Helen and Ruth Kimmel; and an infant brother.
Surviving are a son, Edward Kimmel of Ft. Wayne, IN; three daughters, Donna Abel of Cottonwood, AL, Linda Bake and her husband, Abe, and Ruth Blackburn, all of Jewett; ten grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and two sisters, Mary Hamilton of Dennison and Edna Morris of Uhrichsville.

Karen Louise Reed

Karen L. Reed, 55, of Cadiz, died Thursday, January 6, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville, Ohio. She was born January 6, 1951 in Steubenville, a daughter of Donald and Mary Paulin White of Jewett.
She was a Corrections Officer at the Belmont Correction Institution in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Reed, Sr. on January 30, 2006.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her son, James F. Reed, Jr., of Cadiz; two step-daughters, Jamie Reed of Washington, PA and Monica Kramer of Monessen, PA; three step-grandchildren, Joshua, Isaik and Solomon James; a sister Pam and her husband, Wayne Dulkoski of Jewett; a brother, David White of Steubenville; and several nieces and nephews.

Pauline Arbaugh

Pauline Arbaugh, 89, of Jewett, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center, West in Steubenville. She was born August 20, 1916 in Port Homer, Ohio, a daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Knox Mercer.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Jewett and the Jewett Grange. She was a retired employee of the Scio Pottery Co.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dean S. Arbaugh; a brother Charles A. Mercer; 2 sisters, Georgia Ewing and Hilda Pickering; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Glaser.
Surviving are three daughters. Deanna Glaser (Gary) of Magnolia, and Sharon Jones (Randy) and Marsha Coulson (John), all of Cadiz; five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.

Lee Butler, 61, Cadiz, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz, Ohio. He was born July 19, 1944 in Blacksburg, Virginia a son of the late Wesley D. And Cynthia Mills Butler.
Lee was a member of Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz; the former owner and operator of Butler's Sunoco in Cadiz and was a employee of ODOT in the Cadiz garage.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents; by a sister Mary Conrad and a brother Bart Butler.
He is survived by his wife Donna Hatfield Butler; a son D.J. Butler and his wife Kelly of Barnesville, Ohio; a daughter Tracey Byers and her husband Russ of Cadiz; 3 grandchildren: Brittany and Natalie Butler, and Katie Byers; and a sister Della Christopher and her husband Robert of Columbus, Ohio.

Ruth Lucille Reed, 90, Reynoldsburg, formerly of Cadiz, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Wesley Ridge in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She was born September 5, 1915 in Tippecanoe, Ohio a daughter of the late Henry Lake and Mary Elizabeth Irwin Groves.
She was a member of the Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Lisle Jones Circle; a 50 year 4-H leader in Harrison County; a member of the Cadiz and Ohio Garden Clubs; Democratic Womens Club; Business and Professional Womens Club; MRDD Board; and co-chairperson of the Cadiz Christmas Basket program.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband William Paul Reed in 1987; a granddaughter, Amy Hooper; and a brother Dwight Groves.
She is survived by 4 daughters: Norma Smith and her husband William of Columbus, Beverly R. Poppe of New Bremen, Ohio, Joy Sue Long and her husband Jerry of Grove City, Ohio, and Sharon Lee Reed of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; 5 grandchildren: Barbara Poppe (Bill Faith) Columbus, Jill Poppe of Minneapolis, MN, Sandy (Perry) Green, Longmont, CO, Kris (Susan) Poppe of Wapakaneta, OH, and Holly Teague of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and 8 great grandchildren.

Fremo Ross
January 28, 1925 - January 15, 2006
Fremo Ross, 80, Cadiz, died Sunday, January 16, 2006 at the Carriage Inn of Cadiz. He was born January 28, 1925 in Piney Fork, Ohio a son of the late Michael and Laura Ross.
He was a member of the Scott United Methodist Church in Cadiz; a retired coach and school teacher having taught in Lafferty for two years, Mt. Pleasant for three years, Cadiz for six years and Wintersville for nine years before retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II, a member of the Cadiz American Legion for 52 years, the Cadiz Country Club, and the Husky Sideliners.
He is survived by his wife Velma Yansens Ross; a daughter Kimberly Davia and her husband Randy of Cadiz; a son, Michael Ross of Cadiz; 2 grandchildren: Jessica and Robbie Davia; and a sister Cesira Krawczyk of Cleveland, Ohio.
