Howard M. Frye
PERRY - Howard M. Frye, 71, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Veteran's Hospital in Brecksville.
He was born March 19, 1931 in Cleveland, the son of Howard H. and Anna H. (Kulberg) Frye.
Mr. Frye married Marilyn (Thompson) Jan. 18, 1958 in Madison.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 18, for 40 years.
Mr. Frye was a 1949 graduate of Perry High School and resided in Perry since 1941, moving from Fairport Harbor.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Perry; a daughter, Christine Billey of Willoughby; two sons, Sterling Frye of Painesville and Chuck Frye of Madison; six grandchildren, Gwen and Krystle Billey; Tiffany, Jacqueline, Justin and Jillian Frye; three sisters, Shirley Hurlburt of Palm City, Fla., Phyllis Ford of North Haven, Conn., Donna Trunko of Rocky River.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carolyn Cherunshin; and a brother, Leonard Frye.
Services will be 7 p.m., Saturday at Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. Kelly M. Irish of St. Anne-in-the-Fields Church, Madison officiating.
Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, in Perry Cemetery, Perry.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Thomas A. Baker
PERRY - Thomas A. "Bud" Baker, 70, of Perry and formerly of Cleveland, died Monday, July 22, 2002.
Born July 19, 1932 in Uniontown, Pa., he was a mechanic for eight years at the Madison Country Club in Madison. A mechanic by trade, he spent most of his time tinkering in his garage, fixing cars and building things. He also enjoyed farming and raising animals.
A Korean War Army veteran, he served as a paratrooper. He was a member of VFW Post No. 6846 in Geneva.
Survivors include his daughters, Andrea Noble and Debra Wizniak; stepchildren, Ronald Wizniak, Donald Wizniak, John Michael Wizniak and Laurene Buzz Nelson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Sharon Hurt.
Service is at 8 p.m. Thursday at Brunner-Nixon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 176 N. State St., Painesville.
Burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Perry Cemetery, on the corner of Middle Ridge and Center Road in Perry.
Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Lloyd Frost
PERRY - Lloyd Spencer Frost, 80, a lifelong Perry resident, died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Madison Health Care in Madison.
Born April 29, 1922, in Perry, he was the son of George and Mildred (Downing) Frost.
Owner of Frosty Construction, he operated Frosty Donuts with his wife, Gertrude. He served in the Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 697 in Perry.
He had served as a Veterans Service Officer for more than 20 years Lake County. He also worked on various committees for North Perry Village.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Elliott of Perry; two grandchildren, Michelle Dreis of Mentor and Ralph Elliott III of North Perry; great-granddaughter, Destiny Hanzak; and four sisters, Florence Welch of Madison, Helen Meek of Painesville, Lois Hall of Ashtabula, and Georgia Belk of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, June Frost.
Service is at 10 a.m. Thursday Behn Family Funeral Homes, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. James Patton of St. Cyprian Catholic Church in Perry officiating. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.

Kathryn M. Anzelc
PERRY - Kathryn M. Anzelc, 86, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Nov. 2, 1915, in Painesville, the daughter of Henry Joseph and Adeline Ann (Grendlack) Krauter and was a lifelong Perry resident.
She worked as a press operator for the Madison Press and the Painesville Telegraph.
Survivors include two daughters, Joan Saari of Sarasota, Fla., and Kathryn Anzelc of Perry; six sons, Joe Pocza of Highland, Ind., Jim Pocza of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kenneth, Anthony and John of Perry, and Robert of Bethany, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Elizabeth Cook of Cleveland, Coletta Mangine of California, and Henrietta Ivancic of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Agnes Hritz; and a brother, Joseph Krauter.
A private family graveside committal service will be held at Lane Road Cemetery, Perry, at a later date.

Ava M. Thompson
PERRY - Ava M. Thompson, 75, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at Rae-Ann Geneva.
She was born June 24, 1927, in Painesville, the daughter of Russ and Mary (Lipovich) Billington.
She married Richard C. Thompson Dec. 9, 1942, in Perry.
A lifelong Perry area resident, Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a member of the Perry Garden Club, Happy Hookers and the Perry Moms' Club.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Donna Geddes of Geneva and Dianne Thompson of Columbus; one son, Russ Thompson of Perry; and four grandchildren, John and Holly Holmes, and Tiffany and Erica Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, James Billington.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at Behm Family Funeral Homes, 26 River St., Madison, with The Rev. Will Stackhouse of Perry Christian Church, Perry, officiating. Burial will be at Perry Cemetery.

Kermit R. Weekley
PERRY - Kermit R. Weekley, 83, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at LakeEast Hospital, Painesville.
Mr. Weekley was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Doddridge County, W.Va., the son of Homer and Sarah (Herron) Weekley and had been an area resident for more than 57 years.
Mr. Weekley worked in construction labor with Laborers Union 496, and loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Kermit and Robert of Madison; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Homer, of West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Betty, in 1995; three sons, William in 1995, Kenneth in 1998, and Daniel Ray in 2001; two sisters, Juanita Belle and Wanda Guthrie; and a brother, Kenneth.
Graveside service is 10 a.m. Thursday at Fairview Cemetery, Madison, with the Rev. William Alvey officiating.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison.
Ben J. Parker
PERRY - Ben J. Parker, 77, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003 at the Hospice House of Cleveland. He was born Aug. 31, 1925 in Newport, Ark., the son of Eunice (Ward) and Ben Parker, Sr.
He married Mary J. (Pasternack) Parker on July 28, 2002 in Perry.
Mr. Parker worked at Addressograph Multigraph as a metal finisher for 30 years, retiring in 1981.
He enjoyed traveling, fishing and boating.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Patricia Speece of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Russell Parker of Lexington, Ill. and Bennett Parker of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Deborah Smith of Matthews, N.C.; a stepson, Stephen Pasternack of Westerville; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Albert Parker of Hico, Texas; and four sisters, Wanda Adams and Ava McKay, both of Searcy, Ark. and Edith Wilson and Evelyn Sue Parker of Newport, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanore; and his parents.
Service is noon Tuesday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. Will Stackhouse of Perry Christian Church in Perry officiating.
Calling hours are 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Perry Cemetery, in Perry.
