Richard L. Hoover
CORTLAND Richard L. Hoover, 69, of Emerald Lane, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 16, 1931, in Andover, the son of Francis and Gladys V. (Britton) Hoover.
A lifetime Andover resident, Mr. Hoover had lived in Cortland for the past 10 years. He was a 1949 graduate of Andover High School and attended Youngstown State University majoring in business administration.
Mr. Hoover served as vice president and secretary for the Kinsman Sand and Gravel Co. for more than 25 years and later owned and operated Tri County Protection Systems for more than 10 years. He later served as a business consultant until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover where he earlier served as a trustee. He was a director of Cortland Banks for more than 21 years; served a number of years on the Andover Planning Commission; was a director with the Pymatuning Area Industrial Development committee; was a member and past master of the former Masonic Lodge No. 506 Free and Accepted Masons, Andover; Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland; Al Koran Temple; El Kadir Grotto; past president of the former Ashtabula County Shriners Club; Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 54, Andover; a lifetime member of Percy D. Hyatt Post No. 226 American Legion, Andover; past president of the former Ohio Aggregates Association and past director of the former National Sand and Gravel Association.
Mr. Hoover was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene B. (Barnes) whom he married Nov. 4, 1951; a son, Randall B. Hoover of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Melanie K. Anderson of Bay Village; a brother, Wayne B. Hoover of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Marian L. Cole of Hermitage, Pa.; and two granddaughters, Megan K. and Marnie Lee Anderson, both of Bay Village.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack D. and Roy C. "Bay" Hoover; and two sisters, Beverly L. Roach and Sally J. Flannery.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 181 South Main St., Andover, with the Rev. Jeffrey W. Stoll officiating. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover.

Kristin Ann Mello
CORTLAND - Kristin Ann Mello, 22, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000 in Marietta, Ga., while on a family vacation.
She was born Sept. 18, 1978 in Mansfield, the daughter of Michael L. and Suzan A. (Archer) Mello and has been a resident of Trumbull County for most of her life.
Kristin graduated from Matthews High School (Vienna), a member of the class of 1996. After completing her degree in business communications, she graduated from Sawyer College in 1998. She went on to complete a college internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. She most recently worked for the H.L. Libbey Co. of Youngstown.
Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Kimberly M. Harrington of Marietta, Ga., and Katie L. Burkey of Poland; paternal grandmother Margaret R. Mello of Ashtabula; maternal grandmother Florence P. Archer Kelley of Youngstown.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Lawrence E. Mello; and maternal grandfather Raymond A. Archer.
Services will be held at noon Thursday at the Trinity Fellowship, 4749 South Ave., Boardman. The Rev. Fred Markusic and the Rev. John Ruggeri will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Childs-Williams Funeral Home, 1440 W. prospect Road, Ashtabula, and from 10 a.m. to the time of the service at the church in Boardman.

Rose M. Yuhas (1 of 2)
WARREN - Rose M. Yuhas, 90, of Warren died Sunday, May 29, 2001, at Community Skilled Nursing Centre, Warren.
She was born May 11, 1911, in Conway, Pa. to Joseph and Anna Mako. She has lived in the Warren area since 1934.
Mrs. Yuhas was a graduate of Conneaut High School, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Women's Society of the Church, the True Fellowship Class and a Charter Member of the Warren Township Garden Club.
Survivors include sons, Robert J. of Columbus, David M. of Warren, brother Paul P. Mako of Monroe Township, sister Anna M. Ware of Conneaut and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Joseph, brothers, Joseph Mako Jr. and Frank F. Mako.
Service is Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 N. Park Ave., Warren.
Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. today, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Monroe Township Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.
Rose M. Yuhas (2 of 2)
WARREN - Rose M. Yuhas, 90, of Warren, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Community Skilled Nursing Centre, Warren, following an extended illness.
Born May 11, 1911, in Conway, Pa., Mrs. Yuhas was the daughter of Joseph J. and Anna (Zednik) Mako and lived in Warren since 1934.
She graduated from Conneaut High School and married Joseph Yuhas on Dec. 2, 1929.
She was a homemaker and member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Women's Society of the Church and the True Fellowship Class.
Survivors include two sons: Robert J. of Columbus, David M. of Warren, a brother, Paul P. Mako of Monroe Township, sister Anna M. Ware of Conneaut; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother Frank F. Mako.
Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 N. Park Ave., Warren.
Burial will be at Monroe Township Cemetery.
Calling hours is 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Clara P. McCurry
WARREN - Clara P. McCurry, 92 of Warren, Ohio died Saturday evening May 1, 2004 at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland, Ohio.
She was born April 15, 1912 in Marlington, West Virginia the daughter of John and Sara Jane (Cogar) McCombs.
She enjoyed being with people, gardening, and flowers.
Mrs. McCurry is survived by Larry D. McCurry of Windsor and Lawrence D. McCurry of Orwell. Daughters; Helen Warner of Columbus, Ohio and Ruth Sams of Streetsboro, Ohio. Sister; Gloria Green of Marlington, WV. 19 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her parents, her husband Allison McCurry on April 24, 1975, daughters Geraldine Snyder, Linda Smith, and Jounita Parobek; brothers Cecil, Claude, Coleman, And Clarence McCombs and sister; Clemetine McCombs.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at the Paine-Guerriero Funeral Home, 140 East Main Street, Orwell, Ohio with interment following in Dodgeville Cemetery, New Lyme Township, Ohio.
Friends will be received 9:30 AM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Kevin L. Poff
WARREN - Kevin L. Poff, 30, of Victoria Street SW, Warren, OH, died Tuesday evening, June 3, 2003, at his residence.
Born on November 8, 1972, in Warren, he was the son of David H. Poff and JoAnne (Beer) Stewart. Mr. Poff was a resident of Warren most of his life.
He was an employee of the Youngstown Crab Company this last year, as a waiter.
Survivors include his parents, JoAnne Stewart of Warren, and David H. Poff of Ashtabula; step-father, Clarence Stewart of Warren; one brother, Keith Poff of Wilmington, DE; one sister, Tina Poff of Charlottesville, VA; two half-sisters, Jaime Poff of Ashtabula, and Annastacia Michaels of Bexley, OH; and one step-brother, James Poff of Columbus, OH.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 N. Park Ave., Warren, OH 44481.
Floyd F. Redmond
WARREN - Floyd F. Redmond, 77, of Warren, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at University Hospital of Cleveland.
He was born on July 1, 1923 in Vienna, the son of Joseph and Marie Redmond.
Mr. Redmond was employed with A.Y.I. Food Systems of Warren for 22 years, as executive chef. He retired in 1991.
He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church, founded the Ashtabula Coin Club and was a life member of BPOE 295.
Mr. Redmond enjoyed golf and gardening.
Survivors include his wife Mary, two daughters; Heidi Yoder of Phoenix, Ariz., Amanda Stiberth of St. Charles, Ill., one step-sister; Lila Brennan of Penbrook Pines, Fla., and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother, William.
Services are Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., at the Blessed Sacrament Church.
Burial at All Souls Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Staton-Gillen-Larkins Funeral Home.
