Frank Zigarevich
GUSTAVUS - Frank Zigarevich, 74, of Wakefield Creek Road, Gustavus, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home, Fowler.
He was born July 3, 1928 in Youngstown, the son of Sergey and Julia (Opalko) Zigarevich.
Mr. Zigarevich was formerly from Youngstown and was a resident of Gustavus for more than 51 years.
He was a 1947 graduate of East High School.
Mr. Zigarevich owned and operated a dairy farm for 10 years and worked for Valley Mould & Iron of Hubbard for more than 25 years, in maintenance, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Zigarevich served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Austria.
He enjoyed model trains and woodworking.
Mr. Zigarevich married Margaret M. Maurer Feb. 16, 1950.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Gustavus; daughters, Sandra A. Adams of Gustavus, Susan M. Mullett and Emilla J. O'Donnell, both of Hartford; sons, Frank J. Zigarevich of Timberlake, N.C.; and Michael P. Zigarevich of Gustavus; a brother, William Zigarevich of Youngstown and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Joseph and Peter Zigarevich.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday, at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, with the Rev. Steven W. Trimble officiating.
Cremation will follow.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice.

Anna L. Logan
GUSTAVUS - Anna L. Logan, 84, of Gustavus, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Horizon Hospital Greenville, Pa.
Born March, 13, 1917, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., to Arthur S. and Anna Beck.
Formerly of Cadiz, Mrs. Logan was a Gustavus resident since 1940. She was a 1934 graduate of Scio High School in Scio. She earned her teaching certificate in 1936 from Kent State University.
She taught school for several years for the Doe Run School in Harrison County and Bristol School in this area and substituted for local area schools.
She married George D. on Oct. 12, 1940. They owned and operated Loganway Farms in Gustavus for many years.
She was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church, where she served on the Ladies Community Aide program. Mrs. Logan was also a member of the Gustavus Grange, Gustavus Farm Bureau Council, the Mary Chesney Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the U & I literary club, Mothers Club, AG Forum of Trumball County and she was and advisor for 4-H for 45 years and a member of the Gustavus Historical Society.
Survivors include sons, Gary of West Bend, Wisc., Jay R. and Arthur, both of Gutavus, Myron G. of Gilbert, Ariz., Duane of Plain City; daughter Virginia of Canton; sister, Elizabeth B. Welsh of Cadiz; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Frances B. Smith and Kathryn M. Beck.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, with Robert P. Jeffers officiating.
Burial will take place in Gustavus Cemetery.
Calling hours will be at the funeral home today from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Wade M. Sweitzer
FOWLER - Wade M. Sweitzer, 95, of 4250 Sodom Hutchings Rd. NE, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Briarfield of Cortland, Fowler Township.
He was born Aug. 17, 1906 in Accident, Md., to Charles H. and Clare (Feik) Sweitzer. He married Ethel Mae Campbell Oct. 28, 1928, and she died on their 62nd wedding anniversary in 1990.
Mr. Sweitzer moved to Ohio from Morgantown W.Va.. in 1965. Prior to that, her lived and worked in Fredonia, Pa. He was a long-time farmer, but also worked for the former Greenville Steel Car Co., retiring in 1969. He cared for his wife from 1986-1990 and worked vigorously in yard and maintenance work until age 87.
Survivors include daughters Arlene Mitchell of Kinsman, Linda Allen of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Kathy E. Dunbar of Cortland; sons Randall W. Sweitzer of Kinsman, Robert A. Sweitzer of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Glenn F. Sweitzer of Kinsman; sister Kathryn Flynn of Sharon, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons Donald E. and John Sweitzer; sisters Carrie Glover, Viola McCord and Mary Jane Bright; and brothers Elmer, Jake, Jonas and Ernest Sweitzer.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, officiated by Pastor Jeffrey Greiner. Burial is in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours are 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown 44512.

Susie E. Fowler
FOWLER TOWNSHIP - Susie E. Fowler, 83, of died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Fowler Township.
Born Sept. 7, 1918, in Cleveland, she was a daughter of William and Suzanna (Frazier) Szabo.
Formerly of Mecca, Miss Szabo moved to the Vernon area in 1944. She was a homemaker and enjoyed farming with her family.
Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Luckey of Hiram.
Preceding her in death are her parents; one sister, Julie Lovelace; and four brothers, Louis, George, Valentine and William Szabo.
Miss Szabo will be cremated and burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery.
No calling hours or service will be observed.
The Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, has charge of the arrangements.

June Rose Flask
FOWLER - June R. Flask, 83, died Friday, Dec. 20, at the Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home, Fowler.
She was born July 7, 1919, in Niles, daughter of Newton J. and Edna M. Hartman.
Mrs. Flask has lived in Fowler Township for the past 10 years. She was married Oct. 25, 1941 to James H. Flask Sr.
Mrs. Flask was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cortland. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and listening to music.
Survivors include one son, James H. Flask Jr. of Gustavus Township; sister, Roma Welss of Girard; two brothers, Phillip Hartman of Nevada and James Hartman of Tennessee; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Francis L. Swick
FOWLER TOWNSHIP ­ Francis L. "Jack" Swick, 82, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, in Briarfield of Cortland.
He was born Oct. 19, 1919, in Bazetta, the son of Lester R. and Edna F. (Drake) Swick.
A lifelong Farmdale resident, Mr. Swick was a 1927 graduate of Kinsman School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.
He married June E. (Fenn) on Feb. 10, 1946.
Mr. Swick owned and operated Swick Roofing and Heating for more than 20 years. He also worked for the Farmdale Post Office as a rural postal carrier for more than 27 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and a deacon. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and reading.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Joyce J. Hughes of Bazetta and Phyllis J. Peltola of Andover; a son, Thomas N. Swick of Hartford; two sisters, Ermal Fenn of Cortland and Leona Fisher of Warren; two brothers, Donald E. and Ivan E. Swick, both of Warren; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Gale O., Rollin L. and Merle R. Swick; and one sister, Lois Swick.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, with the Rev. Steven W. Trimble officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Brook Memorial Park in Champion Township.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, 44512.

Marion E. Johnson
MINERAL RIDGE - Marion E. Johnson, 104, formerly of Ashtabula, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Glenview Manor, Mineral Ridge.
She was born July 23, 1898, in Geneva, the daughter of Hezekiah and Lydia M. (Baxter) Stimpson, and lived in Ashtabula most of her life.
Mrs. Johnson loved ballroom dancing, was very proud of her garden with all of its lovely flowers; and was an accomplished artisan in needle craft, especially crocheting and needlepoint. She was an avid traveler.
For many years, she worked in one of Ashtabula's finest millinery shops.
She attended the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen McKelvey of Warren; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl G. Johnson; a son, Edward S. Beer; a daughter, Edith J. Beer; a sister, Adelaide Jeppe; and a brother, Amos F. Stimpson.
A private service will be held at the family grave site in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Geneva.
Zaback-Czup Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
