Herman T. Wagner
NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Herman T. Wagner, 82, of North Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Mantua, the son of Theodore A. and Emma (Tessmer) Wagner.
Mr. Wagner had been a resident of North Bloomfield for 40 years and widely known in the community, the family said.
He was a self-employed farmer and was a member of the North Bloomfield Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Wagner enjoyed hunting, gardening, was an avid baseball fan, and was well-known for his handwritten Christmas cards.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ada (Bontrager), of North Bloomfield; one daughter, Dawn Troyer, also of North Bloomfield; three sons, Dale, David and Donald, all of the area; one brother, Harry Wagner of Wisconsin; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth, Helen, and Lillian; and one brother, Frederick.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the North Bloomfield Assembly of God Church, 2079 Kinsman Road N.W., North Bloomfield, with the Rev. Mike Levelle, pastor, and the Rev. Rich Whipkey, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery in North Bloomfield.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield.
Lillian S. Sulek
NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Lillian S. Sulek, 84, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, in Cortland.
The daughter of Louis and Mary (Milbrandt) Gedeon, she was born Dec. 28, 1916 in Cleveland.
Mrs. Sulek was a 1934 graduate of Bloomfield High School, and has been an area resident for the past 75 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Orwell, where she was a former organist and a member of the Daughters of Mary.
She enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, cooking, baking and interior decorating.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria J. Hudak of Smyrna, Ga., and Deborah J. Tuck of Dunwoody Ga.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Louis Gedeon of Longview, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph P. Sulek; and three brothers, Leonard, Clarence and Robert Gedeon.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 103 North Maple St., Orwell, with the Rev. Greg Fedor officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Orwell.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 East Main St., Orwell.
Eleanor M. Carlson
NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Eleanor M. Carlson, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Grand Valley Country Manor in Windsor.
She was born Oct. 14, 1913, in Cleveland, the daughter of Frank A. and Anna (Kubera) Kolley.
Mrs. Carlson worked for Geauga Livestock in Middlefield and Roscoe's Bloomfield Poultry Auction in North Bloomfield.
She was a member of St. Mary Church in Orwell, Daughters of Mary and a former member of the Orwell Grange.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Carlson of North Bloomfield; a brother, Clarence Kolley of Warren; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred E. Carlson, on Jan. 27, 1986; a daughter, Nancy Mehes; two brothers, Chester and Eugene Kolley; and one grandchild.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Church, 103 N. Maple St., Orwell, with The Rev. Gregory Fedor of St. Mary's officiating.
Burial is in Brownwood Cemetery, North Bloomfield.
Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell.
Daisy I. Shipman
NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Daisy I. Shipman, 82, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at her home from cancer.
Born March 1, 1919, in North Bloomfield, she was a daughter of Charles D. and Estella (Jackson) Sprague. She was a lifetime area resident.
She was a 1937 graduate of North Bloomfield High School.
She married James Shipman August 25, 1937.
She was a charter member of the Bloomfield Community Grange and belonged to numerous card clubs.
She enjoyed family, friends, picnics and long drives.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Richard, Gary and Larry, all of North Bloomfield, and James L. of Weston, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Joe and Rodney; two sisters, Eva Easterbrook and Vivian Sprague; twin daughters; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell.
Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery in North Bloomfield.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.

Carl B. Lomas
NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Carl B. Lomas, 71, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at the Horizon Village Nursing Home, Warren.
He was born Dec. 25, 1930, in New Lyme, the son of Benjamin J. and Sylvia E. (Anthony) Lomas.
Mr. Lomas enjoyed hunting and farming. He was a woodsman for lumber companies.
Survivors include his sisters, Jenny Kleczy of Mecca and Josephine Culver of Mecca and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Lomas, Theodore Lomas and sisters, Leah Hubbard and Nina Gamlin.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 East Main St., Orwell.

Myles B. Beckwith Sr.
NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Myles B. Beckwith Sr., 60, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at his home.
He was born Dec. 17, 1942, the son of Russell and Edna (Miller) Beckwith.
Survivors include his wife, the former Hope Bush; sons, Myles Jr. of Green and Rodney of Bloomfield; daughters, Hope Wiles of Windsor and Camey Beckwith of Orwell; nine grandchildren; and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Service is noon Thursday at the Brownville Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow.

Mabel F. Angstrom
NORTH BLOOMFIELD Mabel F. Angstrom, 91, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at her home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1910, in Bloomfield.
Mrs. Angstrom graduated in 1928 from Bloomfield High School, was a former 4-H leader, enjoyed horses, motorcycles, traveling, fishing, knitting and sewing.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy A. Rodgers of North Bloomfield; two sons, Harold F. Jr. of Okeechobee, Fla., and William C. of Mesopotamia; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, on Jan. 2, 1998 and a grandson.
Memorial service is 3 p.m. Sunday at the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Park St., North Bloomfield, with the Rev. Vernon Palo officiating.
Calling hours are from 2 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the North Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Department and the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church.
