Glenna P. Carpenter
NORTH BLOOMFIELD - Glenna Pearly Carpenter, 89, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at her home. She had been a resident for 67 years.
She was born July 24, 1911, in Trumbull County, the daughter of Joseph W. and Barb (Maud) Hayes.
Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker.
Mrs. Carpenter married Yale T. Carpenter July 30, 1932.
She was a member of North Bloomfield United Methodist Church and a member of Alpha Chapter No. 44 Order of Eastern Star of West Farmington since 1940 and a past worthy matron. She was also a member of Mesopotamia Rebekah Lodge No. 328 since 1939 and a past noble grand.
Mrs. Carpenter and her husband operated the Bloomfield Livestock Auction and Glenn Yale Farms in North Bloomfield. She was past president of Bloomfield Parent Teacher Association.
Survivors include two sons, Earl R. Carpenter of Middlefield, and Harold T. Carpenter of North Bloomfield; a daughter, Ja Nice McCoy of Kettering; three sisters, Bertha Anderson of Bristolville, Irma Bailing of Struthers, and Hazel Dugan of Warren; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Yale T. Carpenter April 27, 1996; her parents; and a sister, Clara Baker.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Ave., Warren, with the Rev. Vernon Palo and the Rev. Shirley Stoops Franz officiating. Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery in North Bloomfield.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mabel F. Angstrom
NORTH BLOOMFIELD Mabel F. Angstrom, 91, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at her home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1910, in Bloomfield.
Mrs. Angstrom graduated in 1928 from Bloomfield High School, was a former 4-H leader, enjoyed horses, motorcycles, traveling, fishing, knitting and sewing.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy A. Rodgers of North Bloomfield; two sons, Harold F. Jr. of Okechobee, Fla., and William C. of Mesopotamia; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, on Jan. 2, 1998 and a grandson.
Memorial service is 3 p.m. Sunday at the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Park St., North Bloomfield, with the Rev. Vernon Palo officiating.
Calling hours are from 2 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the North Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Department and the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church.

James E. Shipman
GREENE - James E. Shipman, 86, died at his home in Greene, OH, on Tuesday, May 27, 2003.
He was born June 9, 1916, in Fairfax, OH, the son of Lewis and Clara Shipman. He was a 1935 graduate of Mesopotamia High School. He retired as a test expediter at Copperweld after 21 years. He was a member and a master of Grange and a member of Cortland Masonic Lodge. His passions included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include three sons, James (Kathy) of Weston, MO, Gary (Betty) of Greene, Larry (Falisha) of North Bloomfield; a daughter-in-law, Jane of North Bloomfield; two brothers, Roger of Bristolville, and Ray of Painesville; one sister, Sarah Cornet of Willowick; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Sprague Shipman; a son, Richard; twin daughters; one sister, Christine Mazny; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2003, at the Guerriero Funeral Home, 140 East Main St., Orwell. Friends will be received by the family from noon until time of service on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be given to the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Joseph I. Soukenik
GREENE TOWNSHIP - Joseph I. Soukenik, 92, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Community Skilled Nursing Care Center in Warren.
He was born March 11, 1910, in Cleveland, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Ducek) Soukenik.
Mr. Soukenik worked as a blast furnace melder for Copperweld Steel Corp. He belonged to St. Mary Church in Orwell, where he was a member of the choir for 50 years. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus in Orwell.
He married Valeria Viola Soukenik Aug. 26, 1933, in Orwell.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, flowers, his beagle dogs, and he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Joseph Soukenik III of Gates Mills; two daughters, Barbara Mendik of Bazetta, Ohio, and Claudia Ogan of Warren; one brother, Frank Soukenik of North Bloomfield; one sister, Cecilia Romanchik of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Soukenik; two sisters, Mary Jackson and Lillian Soukenik; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Church, 103 N. Maple St., Orwell, with The Rev. Gregory Fedor officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Orwell.
Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Paine-Simpson Funeral Home, 140 E. Main St., Orwell, and 10 a.m. until the funeral Mass Monday.
LEE A. COTTRILL
FARMINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Lee Allan Cottrill, age 20, of Farmington Township, OH, died Monday morning, August 22, 2005, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Parkman Township, OH.
Born August 17, 1985, in Warren, OH, he was the son of Bobbie L. and Dianne (Hites) Cottrill and was a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 2004, he also went to Vocational school for Welding.
In Middlefield, he worked in the Shipping Department at Kraftmaid Cabinetry.
Lee enjoyed hunting, camping, working on cars, and making model cars.
Survivors include his parents, Bobbie and Dianne; two sisters, Leslie and Brittany of Farmington Township; maternal grandparents, Richard Hites of Bloomfield Township and Judy Hites of Farmington Township; paternal grandparents, Herman and Linda Cottrill of Warren; maternal great-grandmother, Geraldine Bancroft of West Farmington; paternal great-grandmother, Freda Gamble of Indiana, PA; and step-grandmother, Betty Chorba of Moreland Hills, OH.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2005, at RUSSELL GOLDEN RULE FUNERAL SERVICE, 275 East Main Street, (Route 88), West Farmington, OH 44491, with Reverend William L. Kemp, of Champion Church of God in Champion, OH, officiating. Burial will be in Sager Memorial Cemetery, Bristol Township, OH.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2005, at the Funeral Home.
Danny E. Patterson
WEST FARMINGTON - Danny E. Patterson, 48, of West Farmington, died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Solon.
Born Sept. 28, 1952, in Joliet, Ill., he was a son of Robert and Rose (Malek) Patterson and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Patterson worked as a mold setter at Delphi-Packard Electric, Warren, for 28 years.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from 1970 to 1973, stationed in Key West, Fla.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider and enthusiast.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas of West Farmington and Samuel of Brookfield; a brother, Terry of Lima; and two sisters, Sandy Riddle of Bristolville and Lina Patterson of Burton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, with Bob Kolbfleisch of Burton officiating. Burial will be in Welton Cemetery, Burton.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Ruth Anne Troyer
WEST FARMINGTON, Ohio - Ruth Anne Troyer, 28, died at her home Monday, Oct. 9, 2000.
Miss Troyer was born Oct. 7, 1972 in Clarksville, Tenn., the daughter of Jacob D. and Mary Ellen (Mast) Troyer. She had lived in the area since 1988.
She attended the Fairview Program in Champion, and loved listening to music and singing. She also loved collecting key chains.
Miss Troyer attended the Pilgrim Mennonite Church in Middlefield.
She is survived by her parents; one sister, Carol Troyer of West Farmington; maternal grandmother, Katie Mast of Titusville, Pa.; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Troyer of West Farmington; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Troyer; maternal grandfather, Alton Mast; and paternal grandfather, David Troyer.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Pilgrim Mennonite Church, 16078 Old State Road, Middlefield. Bishop Ray Shaum of Orrville, will officiate. Burial will be at the Pilgrim Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
