Funeral service for Janet E. (nee Libal) Melari, age 73, of Mentor will be held 11 a.m. Monday January 17, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church, 8125 Mentor Avenue, Mentor.
Mrs. Melari died Thursday. She was born May 7, 1931 in Cleveland, she had lived Mentor on the Lake before moving to Mentor 39 years ago.
Mrs. Melari worked as a mail room clerk for 31 years at Ohio Rubber in Willoughby retiring in 1990. She was a 1949 West Tech High School graduate in Cleveland and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor.
She loved animals and ice skating.
Mrs. Melari is survived by her son Gary (Linda) Melari of Eastlake and brother Kenneth (Eleanor) Libal of Parma and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard G. Melari.
The family will receive friends at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Avenue, Mentor 4-6 p.m. Sunday.
Interment in Mentor Cemetery, Mentor.

Memorial service for June (Morrison) Seeds, age 85, of Leroy will be held 11 a.m. Friday January 21, 2005 at Brunner-Nixon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 176 N. State St., Painesville, Ohio 44077.
Mrs. Seeds died Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at her residence. She was born June 5, 1919 in Painesville, she lived in Concord Twp. for more than 50 years before moving to Leroy one year ago.
Mrs. Seeds was a homemaker who loved her family. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and anything to do with flowers.
Survivors are her children Jan (Gregory) Keck of Leroy, Amy (Timothy) Murphy of Leroy; grandchildren: Trent, Tracy, Todd, Tara, Brian, Abby, Ian, Sarah; several great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Albert, son: Gary; brothers: Jack and Tom Morrison and sisters: Phoebe nave and Eleanor Joles.
Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral service for Jean X. Schrum, age 72, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Advent Lutheran Church, 7985 Munson Road, in Mentor.
Mr. Schrum died Jan. 24, 2005, at Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born Feb. 6, 1932, in Johnstown, Pa., he had lived in Willowick before moving to Mentor in 1988.
He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church of Mentor and American Legion Post 0124, of Geneva. He delivered for Meals on Wheels, was a volunteer at Lake Metro Parks, and enjoyed golfing and reading. He was also a Korean War Army veteran and 1950 graduate of Johnstown High School.
As a Christian man, he had strong convictions in the way he loved and lived and made a difference in all the lives he touched.
Mr. Schrum was assistant vice president of security at Ameritrust for 26 years and was in charge of night security at TRW for 10 years.
Survivors are his wife of 35 years, Rosella (Poruban); daughters, Kathleen Kopach of Windber, Pa., and Kelly (James) Foegen of Stow; son, Kevin (Gail) Schrum of Painesville Township; grandchildren, Erin and Brandon Kopach, Kelsey and Matthew Foegen and Jack Schrum; sisters, Noreen (Nicholas) Molchan and Wilma (William) Kubanda, both of Johnstown, Pa.; and brothers, Hilary (Lucille) Schrum and Don Joseph (Gwen) Schrum, both of Johnstown, Pa.
His son, Charles Schrum; grandson, Daniel Foegen; parents, Daniel and Ethel Schrum; brother, Anthony Schrum; and sister, Eileen Schrum, are deceased.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., in Mentor.
A brief wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.

Graveside service for Howard E. Shuping, age 86, of Akron will be held 11 a.m. Saturday January 15, 2005 at Perry Cemetery, 750 Center Road, Perry, Ohio, Division A.
Mr. Shuping died Monday January 10, 2005, at Akron City Hospital. He was born October 6, 1918 in Syracuse, New York, and was a life resident of Akron.
Mr. Shuping was retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Company in Akron where he was a tire builder for over 30 years.
He is survived by his niece – Caroline Sekki Nunamaker of Largo, Florida, Step- sons – Earl W. (Barbara Anne ) Hartman of Tallmadge, and Emil (Barbara Jean) Hartman of Stow, Step-grandchildren – John (Vonda) Hartman, Eric Hartman, Debbie (Jon) Bell, and Lynn (Brett) Oblisk.
He was preceded in death by his wife – Mary Shuping who died Oct 21, 2004, Parents – Dallas and Caroline Shuping, Sisters - Ethel Shuping Sekki, Dorothy Shuping Cooper, and Gladys Shuping Tacash, Brother – Vernon Shuping.

Funeral service for Angela M. Marincic, age 95, of Mentor, a homemaker, will be 11 a.m. Saturday January 15, 2005 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mrs. Marincic died Jan. 11, 2005, at Mentor Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mentor. She was born May 5, 1909, in Cleveland, she lived in Wickliffe for 25 years and then in Painesville before moving to Mentor.
She was a member of American Fraternal Union and Holmes Ave. Pensioners. She was a naturalist and enjoyed hiking, walking, bird watching and dancing. She also liked to cook and bake. Mrs. Marincic appreciated the outstanding care and support she received from Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Mrs. Marincic worked in her husband's meat market, Frank's Quality Meats in Cleveland.
Survivors are her daughter, Gail (Bruce) Heyduk of Mentor; stepdaughter, Barbara (Chester) Beebe of Van Couver, Wash.; and grandchildren, Alan and Lisa Heyduk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Marincic; sisters, Mary Stinson and Sophie Mlakar; and brothers, John, Ben and Lester Mlakar.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
Private family service for Hans J. Hess, age 79, of Mentor will be held at a later date.
Mr. Hess died Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Lake East Hospital in Painesville. He was born January 20, 1926 in Berlin, Germany, he immigrated to the United States in 1950, living in Mentor for the past 42 years.
Mr. Hess retired from GM in 1991 after 28 years of service as a Tool & Die Maker.
He was a lifetime member of the Masons Detroit Lodge #2. He loved airplanes and boats. He was also a small plane pilot.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Alma; sons: Siegfried (Kim) of Euclid, Ron (companion Kim Blankenberg) of Mentor, Jeff (Pat) of Kentucky, Mark (Fran) of Texas, Bryan (Lynn) of Lyndhurst, nine grandchildren and several relatives still in Germany.

Funeral service for Dorothee A. Hinton (nee Wolf), age 74, of Concord Twp. will be held 8:30 p.m. Monday January 17, 2005 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave, Mentor.
Mrs. Hinton died Friday at Burton Health Care Center in Burton. She was born October 19, 1930 in New York City, New York, she had lived Concord Twp. for the past 40 years.
Mrs. Hinton was a homemaker and loved her family, people, laughing and dancing. She unconditionally accepted and cared for people and was non-judgemental.
Mrs. Hinton is survived by her husband of 50 years, Harold R. Hinton, 2 daughters Lori (James) Hise of Chagrin Falls and Annette (Terry) Tung of Chagrin Falls and 4 grandchildren, Jason and Derek Hise and Eric and Alyssa Tung.
Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
