Dorothy Hoobler Joseph, 92, Jewett, Ohio, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale, Ohio. She was born March 17, 1914 in Green Township, Harrison County, Ohio a daughter of the late William and Eva Fox Snyder Sizemore Snyder.
She was a Methodist by faith; a former member of Ladies Aid at Bethel United Methodist Church; and a retired cook at the former Airport Restaurant in Cadiz, Ohio.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her first husband Perry Hoobler in 1967 and her second husband Stanley Joseph in 1973; a son, Raymond Hoobler; 3 brothers: Lawrence, Edward, and Thomas Snyder; and a sister, Iva Walrath.
She is survived by a son Reuben Hoobler and his wife Jean of Jewett; 4 daughters: Arvella Delloma and her husband Raymond of Jewett, Loraine Liggett and husband Gordon of Jewett, Diana Baker and her husband Ronald of Amsterdam, and Sharon Tucker of Bridgeport; 14 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; a brother, Roy Snyder of Cadiz; and a sister, Irene Wilson of Jewett, Ohio.
Calling hours Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz where funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Sperry officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio.

Dustin Marshall VanCamp
October 16, 1982 - March 23, 2006
Dustin VanCamp, 23, of Ashburn, VA, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Louden Hospital Center, Leesburg, the result of a traffic accident. He was born October 16, 1982 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of Kirk and Kim Yanczura VanCamp of Ashburn, Virginia.
Dustin was an Adminstrative Assistant for Mark IV Builders in Bethesda, MD; was interested in the Trax Revolution card club; and was designer of Wind Tunnel Design website.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Louis Frank Yanczura.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Brittney VanCamp of Asburn, Va.; maternal grandmother, Delores Yanczura of Steubenville; paternal grandparents, Phillip and Barbara VanCamp of Cadiz; several aunts and uncles; and several cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where funeral services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2006 at 1:00p.m. with Steve Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio

Janet T. Adrian, 66, Cadiz, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Janet was born July 2, 1939 in Harrison County, Ohio a daughter of the late Franics Wayne and Mary O. Sproull Tarbert.
Janet was the retired president of the Equitable Savings and Loan in Cadiz and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents; by her husband, James C. Adrian on June 16, 2003; and 2 brothers: Harold C. and Paul Eugene Tarbert.
Janet is survived by her 2 daughters: Kimberly Huffman of Cadiz and Tina Adrian and her husband Scott Barnhart of Newark; 5 grandsons: Michael and Matthew Huffman, Landon Adrian, and Skyler and River Barnhart; a great granddaughter, Chase Ameila Huffman; and 2 sisters: Marilyn Swelbar of Cadiz and Carolyn Karr of Massillon, Ohio.

Robert B. Brokaw, 88, Cadiz, died Thursday, March 9, 2006 at his home. Bob was born August 20, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio a son of the late Robert E. and Martha McBean Brokaw.
Bob was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II, the United States Trotters Association, the Cadiz Eagles Aerie #2162, Cadiz American Legion Post 34, and the Harrison Lodge #219 F.&A.M.
Bob was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife Martha Perkins Brokaw; 2 sons: Eric Michael Brokaw and Robert P. Brokaw; a daughter, Marci Thompson; and a sister Anne White.
Bob is survived by a daughter, Holly McBean of Cadiz; 5 grandchildren; a great grandchild; and a sister, Mary Alice Mullen of Huntsville, Alabama.

Edith M. Griswold, 88, New Athens, died Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Sunset Health Care Center, Adena, Ohio. She was born February 23, 1918 in Athens Township, Harrison County, Ohio a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Knight Goodrich.
She was a member of the New Athens United Methodist Church, Flushing Senior Citizens Organization, Stumptown Steam Thrashers, an active quilter and a lifetime member of Franklin Museum.
She was preceded in death by her husband Merle T. Griswold in 1997; a son Charles Richard ''Rick'' Griswold; 2 sisters: Helen McCue and Eileen Hoffman; and an infant twin brother.
She is survived by a son Bill Griswold and his wife Darlene of Harrisville; 2 daughters: Shirley Edwards and her husband James of New Athens and Judy Stephen and her husband Raymond of St. Clairsville; 7 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; 8 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Thelma Groves of Pennsylvania and Connie Hammond of Spencer, Ohio.

James Somerville, 69, Columbus, formerly of Cadiz, died Thursday, July 6, at James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. He was born January 22, 1937 in Cadiz, a son of the late George Douglas and Elma Lacey Timmons Garvin Somerville.
He was a piano teacher in the Columbus area.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by a brother George Douglas Somerville.
He is survived by niece Amber Browne of Chevy Chase, Maryland; his Uncle William Timmons of Cadiz; and several cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz with Rev. Dr. David Rice officiating. Burial will be at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Edward B. Carothers

Edward B. Carothers, 62, Cadiz, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, Ohio. He was born September 17, 1943 in Glendale, West Virginia a son of the late Bennie and Violet M. Steiner Carothers, Sr.
Eddie was a member of the UMWA, a fine musician, a former coal miner, steelworker, and bodyshop worker, and currently worked for the Harrison-Belmont Vocational School District. He attended the First Apostolic Church in Cadiz.
Eddie was preceded in death in addition to his parents, by a sister Millie Mitchelli.
Eddie is survived by his wife Stella Hooker Carothers; a son Mike Carothers of Jewett; a daughter Tammy Carothers Logsdon of Cadiz; a brother Bennie Carothers, Jr. of Ravenna; a sister Joyce Maxwell of Cadiz; and 13 grandchildren.

Robert H. Nelson, 90, Cadiz, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born July 2, 1915 in Akron, Ohio a son of the late Alvin and Myra George Nelson.
He was a member of the Hopedale Church of Christ, the UMWA, was a retired coal miner from Y & O Coal Mine, and a veteran having served in the Marines during World War II.
He was predeced in death in addition to his parents, by his wife Myra E. Grimes Nelson and a sister Helen Rustin.
He is survived by 2 sons: Kurt A. Nelson and Eric E. Nelson both of Cadiz; and 3 granddaughters: Amanda Jo Chisnell of New Athens, Ohio, Nichole Danielle Nelson and Jessica Nelson both of Cadiz.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Hopedale, Ohio. Arrangments by Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz.
Ruby Marie Gailbreath

Ruby Marie Gailbreath, 95, of Cadiz, died Monday, June 19, 2006 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale. She was born March 13, 1911 in Sturgis, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William S. and Katie Coleman Miles. She was a member of the First Church of God in Cadiz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Gailbreath in 1989; cousins: Ruby Rotkoski and Mason McBride. Surviving are several nieces and nephews including locally, Alva Gailbreath of Cadiz and Nola Peebles of Canton; and a cousin, Marie Wood of Scio. Special friends Chester and Joy Porter of Cadiz, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, Ohio with Rev. Craig Haney officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
Ruby Ash Pettay

Ruby Ash Pettay, 78, of Cadiz, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at her home. She was born September 14, 1927 in West Union, WV, a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Binegar Ash.
She was a member of the East Warren Street Church of Christ in Cadiz, and was a retired Teacher's Aid at Harrison Hills City School District.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. Pettay on November 27, 1989; a grandson, Luke Pettay; four sisters, Ruth Maxwell, Erma Hutton, Helen Abercrombie and Glenda Rusen; and a brother, Frederick Ash.
Surviving are her children: Sharon Dowdle of Cadiz, Thomas Pettay (Susie) of Reynoldsburg, Ronald Pettay (Cindy), Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Dr. Stephen Pettay (Diney), Powell, OH, LuAnn Weethee (Lance), Hilliard, OH, Jeffrey Pettay (Sue), Bonham, TX, and Dr. Mark Pettay (Francine), Canal Winchester, OH; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Ash (Beth), Palm Desert, CA; a sister, Virginia McFarlan (Jim), Cadiz; a close niece, Lavonda New of Cadiz, and several other nieces and nephews.
