Funeral Mass for Mary Kay Hoopingarner, 85, of Mentor, a homemaker, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lake Shore Blvd., Mentor. Mrs. Hoopingarner died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at her residence.
Born Feb. 7, 1923, in Cleveland, she had lived in Cleveland before moving to Mentor 55 years ago.
She was a graduate of Ursuline College with bachelor's degrees in chemistry and English. She was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church, where she was the former organist and vocalist. She was also a 10 year trustee of the Mentor Public Library during its growing years, a enthusiastic member of the Wildwood Singers in Mentor, loved to sing, play the piano, read and garden. She dearly loved her children and their spouses, grandchildren and her home in Mentor.
Mrs. Hoopingarner was a former plastics development chemist for BF Goodrich Chemical Company in Cleveland.
Survivors are her children, Bob (Marianne) Hoopingarner of Sarasota, Fla., Tim (Sandy) Hoopingarner of Centennial, Colo., Jim Hoopingarner of Mentor, Mary Hoopingarner of Mentor, Ann Hoopingarner of Sagamore Hills and Kevin (Lynne) Hoopingarner of Wickliffe; and three grandchildren, Allegra, Hanna and Kevin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Hoopingarner; and brother, John Phillips.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
Funeral services for Judy V. (Rubertino) Hayes, 57, of Mentor, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Mrs. Hayes died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at LakeWest Hospital in Willoughby. She was born Dec. 23, 1950, in Cleveland, she had lived in Cleveland before moving to Mentor 34 years ago.
She was a graduate of Lakeland Community College. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Hayes was a retired service representative from ATT in Cleveland, where she had worked for 18 years.
Survivors are her husband of 38 years, Richard "Dick" Hayes of Mentor; son, Steven (Laura) Hayes of Concord Township; daughters, Denise (Jeremy) Staggs of Denton, Texas and Theresa Hayes of Eastlake; two grandchildren, Madison and Mackenzie Staggs; brother, Anthony Rubertino of Sacramento, Calif.; and many special cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Angelina Rubertino.

Funeral service for Charlie B. Grubb, 74, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Friday May 9, 2008 at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Mr. Grubb died Monday, May 5, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 9, 1933, in Wytheville, Va., he had lived in Eastlake before moving to Mentor 23 years ago.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and an avid reader and Indians fan. Mr. Grubb was a machine repairman for 19 years at G.E., Ivanhoe Road Plant.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Freda; three children, Mikki (Ed) Gardner of Eastlake, Sherri (Doug Whiting) Lang of Painesville and Kelli Grubb of Mentor; eight grandchildren, Brandi (Joe) Sullivan, Misti Gardner, Amii (Lou Yerick) Lang, Linsey (Jim Hanks) Lang, Matthew Lang, Randy Grubb, Amanda (Tim) Good, and Blake Grubb; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elizabeth Jennings of Euclid, Ethel Gravley of Galax, Va., Shirley Hancock of Willoughby, and Margaret (Gerald) Sterle of Mentor; and five brothers, Rudolph Grubb of Wytheville, Va., Walter Grubb of Mentor, Richard (Carol) Grubb of Springfield, Clarence (Debi) Grubb of Yorktown, Va., and Curtis (Barbara) Grubb of Mentor. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Grubb; parents, Charlie and Ola Grubb; sister, Betty Isom; brother, Eddie Grubb; and son-in-law, Scott Lang.

Funeral service for Ida E. Gronert, age 94, a longtime resident of Euclid, will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday May 6, 2008 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Mrs. Gronert died Friday May 2, 2008 at Heartland of Mentor. She was born Jan 5, 1914 in Cleveland.
Mrs. Gronert was an assembler at General Electric Nela Parks lamp division in Cleveland for many years. She also worked for the Euclid School System and was a 1932 graduate of Brush High School. Mrs. Gronert was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cleveland. She loved sewing, crocheting, crewelwork, gardening and bowling.
Survivors are her daughter Lori (Herbert) Roy of Kirtland, son Alan (Dyane Hanslik) Gronert of Mentor, 2 grandchildren Kara Roy of Mentor and Erik (Brandi) Roy of Concord Twp. She is also survived by 2 loving great grandchildren and 2 sisters Lucia Grisard of South Euclid and Adele Kirsch of Willoughby. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold C. Gronert, parents Gustav and Marie Nowjak, sister Olga Hall and 2 brothers Robert and Walter Nowjak.
Family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment at Crown Hill Memorial Park, Twinsburg.
Funeral service for David Good, age 24, a lifelong resident of Mentor, will be held 5:30 p.m. Saturday March 29, 2008 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. David died Monday March 24, 2008. He was born June 6, 1983 in Euclid.
David enjoyed camping, hunting, playing pool, listening to music, fishing, archery, marksmanship, building hot rods and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his mother Cynthia Adornetti; father Mark Good; sisters Celina and Gina Adornetti; brothers Nicholas, William and Christopher Adornetti; grandparents Richard and Bonnie Chivas; Many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Bill Adornetti; grandparents Ronald A. “Curly” and Mary Jane Good.
Family will receive friends 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Private services were held for Emma A. (Young) Drake at Rider's Inn in Painesville in honor of her life on her 100th birthday.
Mrs. Drake died April 18, 2008, at home. She was born at home, in the Bronx, NY, on April 18, 1908.
She attended East Orange High School in East Orange, NJ and Montclair State Normal School, NJ, graduating in 1928 with an Associate Degree in Primary Education. She taught at Roosevelt Elementary School in Englewood, NJ as well as 21 years teaching third grade at Tower Hill School in Wilmington, Delaware retiring in 1973. She was a caregiver for her husband, Oliver D. Drake, until his death in 1978 after a 42-year marriage. She enjoyed living in Ercildoun, Chester County, PA for 41 years and was a member of Friendship Methodist Church outside of Coatesville, PA.
From 1956 to 1965, Mrs. Drake co-ran Camp Brig O'Doon for boys in Paul Smith's NY each summer. She lived with her daughter in Mentor, Ohio from 1993 to the present. She enjoyed watching TV news, feeding her dogs, growing amaryllis bulbs and going to musical theater in Cleveland. She loved watching New Year's Eve celebrations of NYC, and remembering being there in person with her husband Oliver. "It was a remarkable time to live," she said. She saw horse-drawn ice wagons delivering to houses in NYC to men walking on the moon. Mrs. Drake never stopped learning.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebeckah Richardson of Mentor; her granddaughter, Sarah Richardson of Euclid, OH; and half brother-in-law, Victor F. Anderson of New London, NH and two nephews, John F. Adie Jr. of Brielle, NJ and James Adie of Milford, NJ Emma has grandnieces and nephews in Brielle, NJ; Potomac, MD; Milford, NJ; New London, NH; and Southington, CT. Her predeceasers are her parents, Elsie Nina Williams Adie of Saugerties, NY and George Adie of Lenabo, Scotland; her husband, Oliver D. Drake; two brothers, George Barclay Adie and John F. Adie; and her grandson, Daniel L. Richardson.
Burial services will be private with internment in Mountain View Cemetery in Gabriels, NY at the family's convenience.

Private services have been planned for Raymond R. Dunlap, 83, of Kirtland Hills. Mr. Dunlap died suddenly, Saturday, April 19, 2008, at his residence. He was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Chardon, he had been a Kirtland Hills resident for more than 40 years.
He was an animal lover and enjoyed home maintenance and yard care and especially gardening. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having been awarded two Bronze Stars. Mr. Dunlap worked for Chardon Rubber Company for 12 years as a set-up man. Prior to that, he worked for Kismet Products in Painesville and Customer Rubber in Cleveland for 35 years.
Survivors are his wife, Kay; brother, Glenn (Dolores) Dunlap of Chardon; special friends, Bud and Betty Rhode of Painesville; and his precious cat, Jessica. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Phillips; and sister, Marjorie Phillips.
Inurnment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn C. Fasciano, age 97, of Warwick, R.I., will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 2, at St. Ann Church, 2175 Coventry Road, Cleveland Heights 44118. Mrs. Fasciano died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Sunny View Nursing Home in Warwick. She was born Jan. 17, 1911, in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Campanaro, she was formerly a lifelong resident of Cleveland Heights.
Evelyn graduated from Notre Dame College for Women in South Euclid, and attended Kent State University.
She belonged to Legion of Mary. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family. Mrs. Fasciano taught second grade for St. Ann's School, Catholic Diocese of Cleveland for 20 years before her retirement in 1976.
She was the beloved mother of Kathleen (Ronald) Bodziony of Warwick and Alexis (Joe) Megery of Mentor; loving grandmother of Christopher, Kurt, Matthew and Mark Bodziony, and Michael, Joseph and Brian Megery; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister, Leola DeBarr of Cleveland Heights. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; and sisters, Louise and Dorothy Campanaro.
