Celebration of life for Alex Koler, age 87, of Mentor will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave, Mentor.
Mr. Koler died Sunday July 28, 2002 at Lake Hospital Systems in Painesville.
He was born July 31, 1914 in Cleveland, he lived in Willowick before moving to Mentor in 1994.
Mr. Koler was a devoted and loving husband as well as a treasured father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Annie (Marchuk); son Alex (Donna) Koler of Parma; daughters Pat Koler of Mentor and Alice (Louis) Devorsky of Chardon; grandchildren Michael (Jayna) Koler, David (Christine) Koler, Jerry (Michele) Koler, Ron (Lois) Devorsky and Dawn (Doug Francis) Devorsky; 13 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his grandson Dr. Mark Koler; parents Leo and Mary Kulengowski; sister Helen Morway; brothers Frank, Joe, Duke and Chester Kulengowski.
Family will receive friends from 12 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.

Barbara Jean Spittler, age 77, of Mentor, passed away peacefully at home Sept. 22, 2011, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born Oct. 11, 1933, in Cleveland, the family moved to Cleveland, where she attended St. Lawrence, Gesu, and Notre Dame Academy and received a nursing degree from St. Johns Hospital.
Barbara worked as a nurse at Mt. Carmel Hospital while her husband Quentin attended Ohio State Medical School. Barbara and Quentin moved to Mentor in 1968, where they became very active parishioners at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church for 43 years, while raising their children.
Barbara was an accomplished pianist, artistically blessed and passionately involved in many activities and charitable organizations. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and friends, sharing with them her love of knitting, pressing flowers, crafts and the simplicity of a day spent canning fruits and vegetables as well as her enjoyment for gardening.
Barbara shared her heart and love of life with many people and organizations including president of the Ohio State University Medical Student Wives Club, organized and served as the first president of the Christ Child Society of the Western Reserve, member of the Lake County Women's Medical Auxiliary and a lifelong advocate of Birthright of Lake County, as well as countless other causes she deeply believed in. She was the president of the St. Mary's School PTU, served as a teachers aide, enjoyed the company of the Red Hat Society and shared her passion for cooking with friends through a Gourmet Cooking Club.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Quentin J. Spittler; and their seven children, Michael J. (Cindy) Spittler, Andrea M. Wolfgram, Rosemary (John) Cox, Peter F. (Nancy) Spittler, Quentin J. Spittler, Dennis A. (Lisa) Spittler and Phillip A. (Trina Vidalia) Spittler. She is also survived by her treasure of 15 grandchildren, Jessica and Kevin Spittler, Christopher (Gloria) Wolfgram, Michael Wolfgram, Rachael (Erik) Olson, Allison Cox, Jamieson Cox, Sarah, Samuel, Olivia, Emily, Maxwell, Mitchell, Sophia and Luke Spittler; sister, Rose Marie Folin; former son-in-law, Mark Wolfgram; and former daughter-in-law, Diane Spittler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John J. Folin and Katherine B. Folin; and brothers, John and Robert Folin.
Barbara's daily devotion to St. Anthony and the Miraculous Infant Jesus of Prague gave her the grace and strength to face each day. All who knew Barbara were so blessed.
Funeral Mass will be noon Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday September 25, 2011 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.

Funeral service for Frances D. (Valvoda) Justinger, age 61, of Painesville Twp. will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave, Mentor.
Mrs. Justinger died Thursday August 1, 2002 at Lake Hospital System in Willoughby.
She was born June 9, 1941 in Chardon, she lived in Chardon before moving to Painesville Twp.
Mrs. Justinger worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart for 2 years. She was an avid bowler at Mar-Val lanes in Painesville and she enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and she loved her job at Wal-Mart.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Howard; children Theresa (Todd) Lee of South Haven, MS; Howard (Tonya) Justinger, Jr. of Painesville; Victoria (Jamie) Hogya of Painesville and Jennifer (Michael) Lemponen of Ashtabula; grandchildren Justin, Brianna, Brooke, Jareth, Jacob and Mitchell; mother Josephine Valvoda of Chardon; brothers James (Jane) Valvoda of Chardon and Tony (Jane) Valvoda of Chesterland; sister Rosie Kalina of Painesville; Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father James Valvoda.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral service for Walter J. Dziewicki, age 74, of Painesville Twp. will be held 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor.
Mr. Dziewicki died Thursday at University Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born January 25, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio, he lived in Willowick before moving to Painesville Twp. a year and a half ago.
Mr. Dziewicki was a retired policeman for the past 10 years from the Independence Police Department with 25 years of service. He also was a self-employed siding installer. He was a World War II Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Nancy ( Sterle) of 16 years, Daughters – Nora (Bob) Becker of Northfield Center, Therese (Hal) Hubbs of Missouri City, Texas, Sons – Steven (Lana) Dziewicki of Pearland, Texas, Walter Dziewicki of Houston, Texas, Sister – Clara (Henry) Lokiec of Jefferson, Step-daughters – Sharon (Vern) Jones of Eastlake, Margaret (Carmen) Tulino of Macedonia, Step-sons – Dennis ((Diane) Sterle of Mentor, James (Patty) Sterle of Houston, Texas, Greg Sterle of Eastlake, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Step Grandfather, and Step Great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his son Joseph; parents Joseph & Constance Dziewicki; brothers Al and Chuck, and sister Harriet.

Mrs. Daley died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Mentor Way Care Center in Mentor.
She was born November 23, 1905 in Cleveland, she had lived in Cleveland for 21 years.
Mrs. Daley was a homemaker and worked at Woolworth’s in Downtown Cleveland for 10 years.
Mrs. Daley enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son James (Mary Lou) Daley of Cleveland; daughter Virginia (Chuck) Nardi of Painesville Twp.; grandchildren James (Etsutko) Daley, Colleen (Daryl) Porche, Brenda (Rick) Holt, Catherine Daley, Aileen (Ross) Cook, Patrick Daley, Robert (Brenda) Metcalf, Jennifer Hampton, William (Jackie) Daley, John (Sharon) Daley, Sue (Curtis) Willeferd, Debbie Fishbach; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother Russell (Grace) Koepke of Canada; sister Evelyn Krebel of Lyndhurst; sister-in-law Ruth Koepke of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Daley; son William Daley; brothers Howard, Art, and Leroy Koepke; sister Ruth Blaha.

Private family services will be held at a later date for James A. Phelps age 45, of Middlefield.
Mr. Phelps died Saturday at Burton Health Care in Burton, Ohio.
He was born July 20, 1957 in Cleveland, he lived in Indiana before moving to Middlefield 5 years ago.
Mr. Phelps was a driver for the Amish tradesmen.
He is survived by his sons James A. Jr. and Kevin Phelps both of Painesville; father Paul Phelps of Middlefield; sisters Debbie Hamilton of Painesville and Candy Phelps of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his mother Phyllis (nee Harter) Phelps.

Mrs. Ray died Tuesday July 30, 2002 at Lake Hospital System in Willoughby.
She was born February 3, 1937 Vintondale, Pa., she lived in Euclid before moving to Chardon 3 years ago.
Mrs. Ray was a homemaker and also a former member of St. Christine’s in Euclid, Member of St. Mary’s Church, Chardon. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters Teresa (Martin) Carney of Madison, Catherine (Fred) Murch of Concord Twp., and Jacqueline Ray of Cleveland; son Thomas (Jeri) Ray of Chardon Village; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Helen “Tootsie” (George) Peschock of Park Hill, Pa.,. Darlene “Dolly” Martin of Ebensburg, Pa. and Linda (Larry) Kirk of Drexel Hill, Pa.; brother Michael (Gerlinda) Shamko of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Ray.
