Funeral Service for George W “Bill” Minnick, age 73, of Mentor will be 11a.m. Thursday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Avenue, Mentor.
Mr. Minnick died Monday February 4 at Lake Hospital Systems, Painesville
Born January 20, 1929 in Washington, DC lived in Harrisonburg, VA before moving to Mentor 42 years ago.
A retired Field Tech at East Ohio Gas Co, retiring 1988 after 32 years.
US Navy Veteran Member VFW #9295 George Hayward Hall, Amvets Post 109 in Mentor-on-the-Lake, American Legion in Painesville and Moose Lodge in Painesville, enjoyed fishing and Traveling.
Survivors 2 daughters, Lois (Donald) Gorg of Mentor and Michele (David) Hill of Concord; 3 grandchildren Jenny Gorg, Jessica and Jason Hill; 2 sisters Evelyn Knicely of Harrisonburg, VA and Mary Antoine of Miami, FL; significant other Shirley Grable of Mentor.
Mr. Minnick is preceded in death by wife Dorothy Minnick, 3 brothers Daryl , Stanley and Clayton Minnick.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment Resthaven Memorial Garden, Harrisonburg, VA.

A mass to celebrate the life of Harry C. Bartel, age 72, of Mentor will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Bede the Venerable Church 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Please meet directly at the church.
Mr. Bartel died Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at Hospice House in Cleveland
Born April 20, 1929 in Cleveland, he lived in Cleveland before moving to Mentor in 1957.
Mr. Bartel was a Senior Technical Engineer for CEI for 42 years, retiring in 1991. Member of VFW Post 7754 in Fairport; He enjoyed fishing and loved bowling. He was very dedicated to his family. He was a Korean War Veteran in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his daughters Laura (Tony) Ruque of Mentor and Cindy (Chuck) McKinney of Arden, North Carolina; sons Tom (Nancy) Bartel of Mentor and Tim (Karen) of Mentor; grandchildren Nelson, Adam, Annie, Erin, Steve, April, Joey, Courtney, Robby, Jeffrey, Bri, and Katie; great-grandchildren Gabriella, Penny, Caleb, and Alena; sister Bernice Nemes of Palm Harbor, Florida; brother Robert Bartel of Parma. He also leaves pets Casey and Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth L. who passed away November 20, 2001; parents Harry and Emma Bartel.

Funeral service for Savilla M. Roberts (McFarland), 79, a life resident of Painesville, will be will be held Saturday at 12:30 P.M. at Brunner-Nixon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 176 N. State St., Painesville.
Mrs. Roberts died Wednesday at Inn-Madison Health Care.
She was born March 24, 1922 in Painesville, Ohio.
Mrs. Roberts was a foreman at Wayside Gardens in Mentor, worked for Harrison Basket Factory in Painesville, and delivered the Painesville Telegraph and News Herald. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by her brothers Edward McFarland of Smithfield, Virginia, and Irvin McFarland of Houston, Texas; Nephews Dan McFarland of Thompson, and Mike McFarland of Madison; Brothers-in-law Wayman Roberts of Morrison, Tenn., and E.J. Roberts of Smithville, Tenn., and dear friends Kenneth and Grace Smith of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband James and parents Earl and Mable McFarland.
The family will receive friends 11:30 –12:30 Saturday.
Interment at Perry Cemetery.

Frank J. Godic Sr., age 90, of Painesville Twp. for the past 12 years formerly of Mentor. Mr. Godic died September 23, 2011 at Precious Care Assisted Living in Concord Twp. He was born May 11, 1921 in Cleveland.
Mr. Godic retired in 1986 from Lincoln Electric after more than 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking, loved polkas and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Survivors include his son Frank (Laurie) Godic of Mentor; daughters Bev Zazac of Mentor on the Lake and Rosemary Godic of Chardon; grandchildren Heather Johnson, Whitney Bruce, Morgan Miller, Jaclyn and Greg Godic; great grandchild Jaden Rains. He was preceded in death by his wife Caroline; parents Frank and Pauline; sisters Teresa Sray and Pauline Spehar.
A graveside service will be held 3pm Thursday September 29, 2011 at Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Rd., Mentor, OH 44060. Section 29. Please meet at the cemetery.

Mrs. Rossi died Tuesday February 5, 2002 at Homestead I in Painesville.
She was born March 9, 1916 in Montmartre, France, she lived in Little Italy, Euclid, and Columbus before moving to Mentor 12 ago.
A secretary for Reliance Electric in Euclid for 25 years before retiring in 1981. Member of St. Roberts Church in Euclid.
Survivors include her sons, Richard (Catherine) Rossi of Painesville and Daniel (Sarah) Rossi of Walkertown, NC; 5 grandchildren, Amy (Irvin) Reinhart, Daniel (Latisha) Rossi, Benjamin (Jacquelyn) Rossi, Jennifer and Joanna Rossi; Great-granddaughter Lauren Reinhart.
She is preceded in death by her husband Anthony Rossi; Granddaughter Catherine Renee Rossi; parents Paul and Blanche Berger; sister Nanette Berger and Paulette Caserto.

Mr. Hawthorne died at home on Tuesday, February 5, 2002.
He was born September 15, 1941 in New York City.

Private services were held Thursday for Emerson C. Henslee, age 93, of Chardon 2 years formerly of Key Largo, FL, Mentor and Concord Twp.
Mr. Henslee died Monday February 4 at Altercare of Mentor, Concord Twp.
He was born June 23, 1908 in Zanesville, OH.
Mr. Henslee was Project Engineer for Ohio Bell in Cleveland for 36 years retiring in 1969.
A member of Masonic Lodge #302 in Willoughby, ATO Fraternity in Cincinnati, former charter member Christ Lutheran Church in Willoughby, enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include his son Alan (Mary) Henslee of Painesville, 2 daughters Linda (David) Smith of Painesville and Karen (Ralph) Johnston of Geneva; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-granddaughters; sister Hazel Heller of Fairview Park.
He is preceded in death by his wife Thelma E. Henslee.
