Michael G. Shaughnessy age 27 of Painesville died Friday December 7, 2001 at Lake Hospital Systems in Painesville. He was born February 12, 1974 in Painesville, Ohio.
He graduated from St Mary’s school in Painesville & Lake Catholic High School in 1992. He was a member of the Lake Catholic State Champion Football team in 1992. He was proud of his Irish heritage, and enjoyed golfing and yardwork.
He formerly worked for Classic Ford in Chardon as a salesman and recently started his own remodeling business called, “The Home Improvement Guys”.
Survivors include his mother Margaret A. (Cotter) Shaughnessy of Painesville; father Robert D. (Ann) Shaughnessy of Concord Township; brother Robert M. Shaughnessy of Painesville; sisters Camille (Greg) Miklacic of Jefferson, Kathleen A. of Painesville Twp. and Maureen R. of Painesville; nephews Nicholas G. & Joseph F.; grandmother Genevieve Shaughnessy of Thompson and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Anne O. and Gerald M. Cotter and Calvin J. Shaughnessy.
Funeral mass 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 242 North State St. Painesville, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Brunner-Nixon Funeral Home & Cremation Service 176 North State St. Painesville, Ohio.
Interment Riverside Cemetery, Painesville.
Funeral services for L. Arthur Jobling, 78, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday June 30, 2009 at St. Andrew Episcopal Church, 7989 Little Mountain Road, Kirtland Hills.
Mr. Jobling died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born April 1, 1931, in East Bolden, England. Arthur lived in Sunderland, England before moving to Mentor 35 years ago.
Mr. Jobling was a retired chief engineer at the former Caterpillar in Mentor for 31 years, until his retirement in 1990.
He was a graduate of Sunderland Poly Technical Institute in Sunderland, England. He served in the British Merchant Marines as a engineer for two years. Arthur was a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He loved to garden, especially flowers. He was a furniture maker and enjoyed home projects, his family and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rita (Patterson) Jobling, of Mentor; daughter, Alyson Jobling of Mentor; son, Peter (Cindy) Jobling of Pittsford, N.Y.; daughter, Debra (John) Tomsick of Mentor; grandchildren, Gareth, Andrew, Jonathan, Michael, Olivia and Emma; sister, Evelyn Neville of South Shields, England; and brothers, Frank (Kathleen) Jobling of Leicester, England, Philip Jobling of Seaham, England and David (Joan) Jobling of Sunderland, England. He was the beloved "Wilkie" of Alexis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James "Alfred" and Annie Jobling.

Rebecca J. "Becky" (Yohe) Davidson, age 85, of Mentor for the past 55 years, formerly of East Cleveland.
Mrs. Davidson died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at her residence. She was born Oct. 13, 1924, in Somerset, Pa.
Mrs. Davidson worked at the former Eaton Axle in Cleveland during World War II.
She was a 1942 graduate of Somerset High School, Sunday School teacher in children's ministry at Willoughby Hills Friends Church for 30 years and member of New Promise Church in Kirtland. Prior to that, she was a member of Willoughby Hills Friends Church for 54 years, as a devote and born again Christian, serving the Lord for many years. She also adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert; daughters, Roberta (Thomas) Cody of Mentor, Rhonda (Mark Fisher) Barber of Mentor and Reva (Joe) West of Madison; son, Rick (Karen) Davidson of Painesville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Edna Yohe; and brothers, LaMonte, Bernard and Ronald Yohe.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday March 20, 2010 at New Promise Church, 8671 Euclid-Chardon Road, Kirtland, OH 44094.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery.

A Memorial Mass for Nancy A. Miklavcic, age 77, a lifelong Euclid resident will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday September 3, 2010 at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor 44060. Mrs. Miklavcic died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at Euclid General Hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1932, in Cleveland.
Mrs. Miklavcic was a retired director of Mary Mavec Opportunity School in Euclid.
Survivors are her children, Linda Bitker, Anthony Miklavcic III, Stephen Miklavcic, Debra Miklavcic, Charles "Chuckie" Miklavcic, John Miklavcic and Patricia Ivancic; grandchildren, Edward Mikolic, Kevin Mikolic, Tina Wilson, Shana Kaylor, Derek Ivancic, Stephany Ivancic, Tina Summerfield, Michelle Miklavcic, John Miklavcic Jr., Sonny Fernandez, Anthony Miklavcic and Nathan Miklavcic; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Martha Diemer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Miklavcic; son, William Miklavcic; parents, Henry and Eleanor Luck; brother, Donald McCann; and sister, Mary Lou McInerney.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Inurnment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

Marilyn Mae Kuhns LaGanke, age 70, of Kirtland for 49 years, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at her home with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 2, 1938, in Cleveland.
Mrs. LaGanke retired after 20 years of service as a secretary at EQS Systems in Chester Township. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors are her three daughters, Danielle (Robert) Kucharski of Brunswick, Michelle (Gary) Janas of Kirtland and Cheryl Fellows; four sons, Wilbur A. "Bill" (Linda) LaGanke, III of Birmingham, Ala., Robert D. (Deborah) LaGanke of Brighton, Mich., James W. (Victoria) LaGanke of Willoughby Hills and Steven J. (Traci) LaGanke of Wilmington, Del.; 15 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Abbey, Sam and Max Janas, Robert (Holly) Fellows, Jacqueline, Aaron, Brandon, Casey (Megan), Ryan, Joe, Brittany, James, Jacob and Nicholas LaGanke; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Kathleen (Joe) Brigmon of Marion; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Kinsey of Concord Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur A. LaGanke, Jr., in 2007; parents, James and Edith Kuhns; brother, James Kuhns, Jr.; and granddaughter, Nicole Fellows.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at St. Noel Catholic Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, OH 44094. Interment will be in South Kirtland Cemetery.

Graveside services for Dan P. Moon, 59, of Madison, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Mentor Cemetery, Section 22. Please meet at the cemetery.
Mr. Moon went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010. He passed away at University Hospital Extended Care Campus in Chardon. He was born Dec. 8, 1950, in Cleveland, and lived in Painesville prior to moving to Madison where he lived for 13 years.
He was an avid scuba diver, practiced martial arts at the Savelli School and was a 1968 graduate of Eastlake North High School. He was a longtime dialysis patient and for the past 13 years was a resident of Cardinal Woods Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Madison. Mr. Moon worked as a machinist for Tylok International in Euclid, and formerly worked for Midwest Screw Products in Eastlake.
He is survived by his brother, Clifford (Donna) Moon of Mentor; and sister, Marylou (Don) Mackel of Mentor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Marion Moon.

Funeral service for David L. Ballee, age 70, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Ave, Mentor.
Mr. Ballee passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010, at University Hospital Extended Care Campus after battling infections from back surgery 10 months ago, further complicated by Parkinson's.
His wife and daughters, who were at his side, would like to thank all the compassionate caregivers who became a part of our lives.
Dave was born in Peru, Indiana on Oct. 21, 1939.
Upon graduating from Peru High School, he did his undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D studies at Purdue University. After teaching agriculture in Indiana, he moved to Mentor in 1974 to join Diamond Shamrock (Ricerca) as a research chemist.
Mr. Ballee retired from Ricerca in 2000, as the Director of Insecticide and Pesticide Residual Analysis.
Dave was part of many advisory committees at Mentor United Methodist Church, including Administrative, Finance and University of Life. When his daughters were young, he held various leadership roles in Center Street School's PTC, and was active in their Indian Princesses and 4-H clubs. He enjoyed reading, working outdoors, the family cats, vacationing at historical places, and lunching with "the boys." One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family. He had a wonderfully dry sense of humor and will be missed by family and friends.
Dave was a loving and supportive husband and father, encouraging his wife and daughters in their education and careers.
Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Lorene; and their two daughters, Deb (Brad) Markisohn of Indianapolis and Beth of Wickliffe. His two grandchildren, Hannah and Jake Markisohn, were a special delight. He took great joy in spoiling them when they visited for a week each summer. He is also survived by his mother, Thelma Ballee of Peru, Ind.; brother, Keith (Darlene) of Chili, Ind.; and numerous other loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Ballee.
