Norman Swift age 86 of Painesville Twp. for the past 37 years died Thursday, November 22, 2001 at Heartland of Mentor in Mentor. He was born July 4, 1915 in Bayonne, New Jersey.
Mr. Swift was a Public Relations Manager at Industrial Rayon which later merged with Midland Ross Corporation where he worked as a Corporate Communications Manager retiring from there in 1977; He was a U.S. Army veteran; member of East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church in Kirtland; enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Marjorie; daughter Randi (Larry) Olson of Cincinnati; grandchildren Laurie (Bryan) Hilke of Toledo and Leslie (David) Zimcosky of Mentor; great-grandchildren Meredith Katherine Hilke and Sydney Morgan Zimcosky. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Rose Swift and 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Memorial service 3:00 p.m. Saturday at East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church 10848 Chillicothe Rd., Kirtland.

Amy Ruth Harris, age 86, a 52-year resident of Mentor, died June 3, 2009, in Longmont, Colo. For the past several years, Mrs. Harris had been residing with her daughter, Mary Ruth and her family. She was born March 14, 1923, in Lennox.
Amy will always be remembered by all those whose lives she touched as a caring, loving and dear, dear person. She dedicated her life to the happiness and welfare of her family and friends.
Mrs. Harris is a former member of Mentor Plains United Methodist Church in Mentor and D.A.R., Longs Peak Chapter in Longmont, Colo.
She was a switchboard operator for the former Ohio Bell in Jefferson. She also worked for Hotel Carter in Cleveland and Prudential Insurance in Beachwood from which she retired in 1992.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her daughter, Mary Ruth Harris Mills and her husband Mark Mills of Longmont, Colo.; grandchildren, Jaymes and his wife Tami McMullin, Anna Mills, Alexander Mills and Jeffrey Vinciquerra; great-grandchildren, Harmony and Ryder McMullin.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, Harry W. Harris; her beloved daughter, Nancy Ann Vinciquerra; her parents, Albert and Neva Fairbanks Hubbard; sisters, Isabelle Epps and Agnes Luce; and brothers, Albert and Joseph Hubbard.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday June 20, 2009 at Mentor Plains United Methodist Church, 7271 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday.
Inurnment will follow at Mentor Cemetery, Mentor. Following the graveside service the family invites you to join them for a reception at the church.

Anna Winters, age 86, of Concord Township, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Mentor Way Nursing and Rehab. She was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Perusic, Croatia.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Winters of Willoughby Hills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Winters; and parents, Marko and Manda Vidic.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Concord Township Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association, Hospice of the Western Reserve, The American Heart Association or The Alzheimer's Association.
Hilia A. Szabo, age 91, of Mentor for the past 35 years formerly of Cleveland. Mrs. Szabo died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001 at Heartland of Mentor. She was born March 8, 1910 in Twinsburg, Ohio.
Mrs. Szabo was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling, was an avid flower gardener, and was a very devoted mother and grandmother, a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She graduated from Chagrin Falls High School in 1928.
Survivors include her daughters Patricia Cox of Mentor, Joanne Dirk of Lakewood and son Robert (Carol) Szabo of Mentor.
Grandchildren Charlene Metzger of Euclid, Carl Metzger Jr. of Willoughby, Robert (Julie) Szabo of Mentor, Sheryl (Mark) Studer of Highland Heights, Dawn (Joe) Dupay of Lakewood, Dennis (Jaime) Dirk of Cuyahoga Falls. 10 Great-grandchildren. Sister Ellen Neustedt of Euclid, Brother Edwin Mattson of Aitkin, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Wilhelmina Mattson, Husbands Michael Szabo, and Joseph Szabo, Sisters Minnie Shammarello, Lillian Frater, Brother John Mattson and her faithful companion Mandy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 A.M. Friday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Interment at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterland. The family suggests contributions to the Building fund at St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Memorial service for Josephine W. Kolba, age 93, of Mentor for the past 15 years (formerly of Cleveland), will be 8:30 p.m. Monday November 30, 2009 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mrs. Kolba died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby. She was born Aug. 31, 1916, in Star Junction, Pa.
Mrs. Kolba was a homemaker. She also worked in housekeeping for many local businesses in the Cleveland area. She loved bingo, scratch-off lottery tickets and being a member of the Mentor Senior Center. Mrs. Kolba was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, where she truly enjoyed attending services. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and spending time with her family was very important to her.
Survivors are her daughter, Joan Kolba of Mentor; sons, Frank (Carolyn) Kolba of Mentor and Paul J. Kolba of Parma; grandchildren, Christopher (Shelly) Kolba, Kellie (Robert) Miller and Kerry (Chuck) Cybulski; great-grandchildren, Masen and Morgan Miller, Madelin and Ryan Cybulski and Kendal Kolba; and her sister, Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Kolba.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.

Rebecca C. Tanner, age 80, of Eastlake for the past 28 years formerly of Mentor. Mrs. Tanner died Tuesday November 27, 2001 at Lake Hospital System in Painesville. She was born Oct 23, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio.
An executive secretary for the Mentor Chamber of Commerce, prior to that she worked for Kucera & Associates and Shandle Construction. A volunteer at Lake West Hospital in Willoughy. Enjoyed golfing at Blackbrook and Johnnycake Ridge golf courses., she was also a graduate of John Hay high school.
Survivors include children Gail (Ed) Lowe of Concord Twp, Ross (Melanie) Johnson, Sr of Mentor, Audrey (Ralph) Forrest of Orlando, Fl and Debbie (Tim) Martin of Columbus, Oh. Grandchildren Linda Welz, Karen Pirc, Dawn Pritikin, Ross Johnson, Jr, Kelly and Kimberly Martin. Great Grandchildren Jess, Sam and Kate. Sister Ora (Robert) Williams of Brookesville, Fla. Survived by a niece and nephew.
She is preceded in death by husband Donald Tanner, parents Loretta and Clarence Gilette and Paul Tuttle. Good friend Bill McCoy.

Todd L. Geiger, 36, of Willowick, died Friday, July 10, 2009. He was born May 16, 1973 in Crane, Texas.
Mr. Geiger worked for TransCon Builders. He enjoyed the outdoors and he especially loved spending time with his children.
Survivors are his longtime companion, Theresa Powali of Willowick; children, Madison and Andrew Geiger; mother, Rev. Virginia Geiger of Cambridge; mothers and fathers-in-law, Jean and Claude Powali of Willowick and Jean and Phil Rossi of Willowick; one brother, Ron (Laura) Geiger of Grove City; seven sisters, Karen (Duane) Lucas of Cambridge, Cheryl Sawyer of Suffolk, Va., Diane (Don) Wilson of Cambridge, Rhonda (Richard) Hagans of Cambridge, Kiristi (David) Whitacre of Hilliard, Teresa (Michael) Clauss of Carey and Ramona (Joe) Brooks of Upper Sandusky; sisters-in-law, Tina Powali of Willowick and Shannon (Michael) Prendergast of Mentor. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Ralph Geiger.
