Funeral service for Goldie "Goldie Girl" King, 64, of Eastlake, will be 11 a.m. Monday June 11, 2007 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Mrs. King died Friday, June 8, 2007, at home. She was born June 3, 1943, in Shinnston, W.Va., she lived in Mesa, Ariz., prior to moving to Eastlake nine years ago.
She was a retired nursing assistant, working in nursing homes for a number of years. Mrs. King was a member of Victory Lane Assembly of God Church in Mentor-on-the-Lake. She loved gospel music, 50's music, dancing, camping, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors, bingo and video games (Zelda and Animal Crossing).
Survivors are her husband of 44 years, Roy C. King; daughters, Lori (James) Meiser of Mentor, Joanna (Tony) Lanzoni of Superior, Ariz., Darla (Wes) Burton of Painesville and Pamela (Mike) May of Broadview Heights; grandchildren, LeAnna (Jeremy) Ford, Richard Greenwalt, Trisha Greenwalt, Alex Meiser, Mitchell King, Monica (Gene) Thorne, Talia Lanzoni, Amanda Burton and Daniela Burton; and brother, Jerry (Margaret) Richardson of Eastlake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Melissa Johnson; and sister, Rachel Klink.
Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the family.
Funeral Mass for Emery R. Mako, 85, of Willoughby, will be noon Friday June 22, 2007 at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Mr. Mako died June 17, 2007, at Altercare of Mentor. He was born Dec. 16, 1921, in Cleveland, he had lived in Willoughby for the past 51 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a founding member of St. John Vianney Church. He was a family man with his whole heart and soul. He loved gardening and was a Cub Master for the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Mako had a private practice as an attorney for several years in the Lake County area. He also worked in the personnel/labor relations department in several companies in the Cuyahoga County area.
Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Eileen (Palmer) Mako; daughters, Gail (George) Golga of South Euclid, Karen (Jeffrey) Borsz of Parma, Janet (David) McFadden of Jefferson, and Christine (Michael) Monty of Madison; sons, Kenneth Mako of Willoughby, David Mako of Deerfield, Mass., Robert (Julie) Mako of Mentor and Thomas Mako of Mentor; daughter-in-law, Karlene Mako of Keego Harbor, Mich.; and 17 grandchildren. His son, Ronald Mako M.D.; and 10 siblings, are deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Inurnment will be Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
A private service for Isabella "Izzy" Rose Troup, 4 months, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, was held Saturday. She died peacefully March 8, 2006, surrounded by her family. Isabella was born Nov. 9, 2006, in Toledo.
She was the joy of her parents' life and will be remembered by all for her strength in fighting SMA, and for her beautiful smile and her soulful eyes.
Survivors include her parents, Steve and Angie Troup of Mentor-on-the-Lake; maternal grandparents, Craig and Holly Southcott of Canandaigua, N.Y.; and paternal grandparents, Don and Irene Schueler of Henrietta, N.Y.
Interment was in Mentor Cemetery.
Funeral mass for Todd A. Korman, age 48, of Kirtland, will be 11am Thursday, October 26, 2006 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Todd died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby. He was born November 30, 1957 in Euclid, he lived in Mentor before moving to Kirtland 14 years ago.
He coached CYO basketball and baseball and Kirtland Youth Girls Softball and Boys Hardball. He was a 1976 Mentor High School Graduate where he lettered in football and swimming and participated in intramural basketball. His hobbies were fishing and golf. He graduated with a B.S.B.A from Ohio Weselyan University where he received a scholarship in football for three years as a wide receiver.
Todd was the former owner of The Memory Grille in Mentor from 1999-2003, The Great Lakes Café in Great Lakes Mall from 1990-1998 and the Beachcomber in Grand River from 1983-1989.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Jean Kerr Korman; daughter: Alexandra “Alex” Korman and son: Zachary “Zach” Korman, both of Kirtland; mother: Patricia J. Korman of Mentor, sister: Kimberly (Rob Gresham) Korman of St. Kitts, West Indies and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Harvey L. Korman and sister: Lauren Korman Moran.

Steve J. Kovacs, 76, of Novelty, Ohio for the past 29 years formerly of Mentor died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born November 19, 1924 in Fairport Harbor, Ohio.
Mr. Kovacs was a patent-trademark manager for the former Diamond-Shamrock of Cleveland for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He was an avid matchcover collector and belonged to R.M.S. He was past president of Forest City Matchcover Club. Mr. Kovacs was the past president of the Hungarian Cultural Society of Geauga County. He was a former little league coach for Mentor Recreation Park and was an avid sportsman. He loved bowling and traveling.
Survivors include his wife Terri (nee Zardin) of 51 years; daughter Kathy (Rollin) Scott of Mentor; granddaughter Emily Roeder; sister Rose Ober of Michigan; survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents John and Mary Kovacs; brother John Kovacs; sisters Mary Volanski, Anna Kovacs, and Helen Palumbo.
Memorial service 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor, Ohio where family will receive friends ½ hour prior to the service.

Funeral mass for August “Gus” Glicker, age 75, of Mentor will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday October 4, 2004 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor.
Mr. Glicker died Thursday September 30, 2004 at his residence. He was born July 19, 1929 in Cleveland, he had lived in Mentor for the past 40 years.
Mr. Glicker was an industrial installer for Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company for 41 years retiring in 1990. He enjoyed playing in a golf league at Lost Nation Golf Course with friends from C.E.I. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his son James “Jim” Glicker of Mentor; daughter Christine Thompson of Tempe, Az.; grandchildren Laura Glicker of Euclid and Andrew Glicker of Kirtland.
He was preceded in death by his sister Amelia Naglitch; mother Amelia Knappe.

A memorial Mass for Beth (French) Schindly, age 40, a lifelong resident of Mentor, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe 44092.
Mrs. Schindly passed away July 18, 2009. She was born Oct. 22, 1968, in Painesville.
Mrs. Schindly worked as a customer service representative for the former Cambridge Integrated Services in Solon.
She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends, especially her son, Braeden.
She was a Mentor High School graduate of the Class of 1987.
Survivors include her husband of nine years, Brian, with whom she had been together for the last 16 years; son, Braeden; father, Phil F. French of Mentor; siblings, Lynn D. French of Mentor, Dwayne A. French of Madison, Barbara A. French of Mentor and Rose M. (Brian J.) Wittkamp of Colorado Springs; nieces and nephews, Phillip A. French, Jennifer M. (Tommy) Kvoriak, Clinton C. Gibson, Tyler Ray Gibson and Joshua Bencina; great-niece and great-nephew, Colin and Raegan Kvoriak; father and mother-in-law, Joseph P. and Audrey K. Schindly of Wickliffe; sister-in-law, Gail K. Bencina of Willowick; brother-in-law, Glen J. (Bonnie) Schindly of Wickliffe; and many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Rae French; and brother-in-law, William Bencina.
Inurnment will be in Mentor Cemetery.

A private graveside service will held for Raymond Golden, age 74, of Willowick since 1958 formerly of Cleveland.
Mr. Golden died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born September 27, 1930 in Cleveland.
Mr. Golden was a design engineer at Bailey Controls for 47 years retiring in 1996. He enjoyed woodworking. U.S. Army Corporal veteran.
Survivors include his wife Josephine of 48 years; children Laura (Jeff) Mingle of Pennsylvania, Greg (Michelle) Golden of Mentor, and Michael Golden of Fairborn; grandchildren Sara, Kayla, and Sean; brother Ronald (Beverly) Golden of Mentor.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
