Mike Storozum, age 82, of Mentor for the past 52 years, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights. He was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Mogilno, Poland.
Mr. Storozum was a retired shipping clerk for the former LTV Steel Mill in Cleveland. He served in the Polish Army from 1944 to 1950.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Anneliese Storozum; and two sons, James Storozum of Mentor and Robert Storozum of Madison. He was preceded in death by his brother.
Memorial services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday October 30, 2010 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family will host a reception at the Brunner Community Room immediately following the memorial service.
Joanna R. (Skuns) Abbate, 70, of Painesville and formerly of Mayfield Village, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
She was born Nov. 21, 1940, in Cleveland.
Mrs. Abbate was a member of St Gabriel Catholic Church, Christ Child Society and involved with the Leukemia Society. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her mother Nellie Skuns; brother, George (Linda) Skuns; children, Laurenn (Bradley) Smith, Lisa (Kevin) O'Brien and Gregory Abbate; and grandchildren, Joey, Shannon, Megan, Melanie (Matt Stanic), McKenna and Connor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Abbate; and father, Joseph Skuns.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township. (Please meet at church.)
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Interment will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.

Evelyn L. "Demps" (Harvey) Frank, 79, of Painesville, died March 24, 2004, at her daughter's residence. Mrs. Frank was born Dec. 5, 1924, in Hampshire, W.Va., she lived in Eastlake and Maryland before moving to Painesville.
Survivors are her daughter, Linda Kay Barnard of Eastlake; grandchildren, Lloyd E. Barnard, Donald A. (Pam) Barnard, Jeffrey W. (Sandy) Barnard, Evelyn R. (Steve) Blaker and Sharmalee L. (Mark) Miller; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Angel, Danya, Donald, Jessica, Brian, Jeffrey, Ryan, Brandon, Joshua, Matthew, Brittany, Daniel and Brianna; sister, Elouise (Abner) Tichnell of Maryland; brother, Wayne (Dorothy) Harvey of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alden Barnard; second husband, Bernard Frank; brother, William; and sisters, Lena, Wilda, Lois and Gladys.

Funeral mass for Jennie M. Griffin, age 88, of Mentor will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday April 3, 2004 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mrs. Griffin died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby. She was born June 23, 1915 in Bayonne, New Jersey, she had lived in Richmond Heights before moving to Mentor 25 years ago.
Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker. She worked on the cafeteria staff at Richmond Heights School Systems. Member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Mentor where she was part of the Senior Club; Richmond Heights Senior center; Enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her husband Charles of 52 years; daughters Madeline Chapman (nee Krejci) of Kirtland and Eileen Henson (nee Krejci) of Modesto, California; grandsons Devin (Katie) Chapman of Litchfield, New Hampshire and Brandon Chapman of Kirtland; sister Irene “Mickie” Imbrigotta of North Royalton.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-laws James Chapman and James Henson; brothers Edward, Walter, and Stanley Dudek; sisters Agnes “Penny” Bis and Sophie “Gerry” Gunnison.

Funeral service for C. Richard “Coogan” Reese, age 87, of Punta Gorda, Fla. will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday April 6, 2004 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor, Ohio.
Mr. Reese died Sunday March 28, 2004 at his home in Florida. He was born July 16, 1916 in Mermill, Ohio.
In 1934 he graduated from Hamler H.S., he was in the U.S. Army from 1940 – 1946, where he received various awards: Combat infantry award in Burma, Bronze Star, Chinese government award, Asiatic – Pacific Ribbon with three battle stars and his highest rank attained – Captain in the infantry.
He earned his BA degree from Hiram College in 1949, 1955 Masters degree from Kent State University ( Ohio ), 1949 – 1952 Taught and coached at Lordstown H.S. ( Ohio ), 1952 – 1979 Taught and coached at Mentor H.S. ( Ohio ).
On October 28, 1988 Mentor H.S. (Ohio) football stadium was dedicated to Mr. Reese and in November of 1998 he was inducted as a coach into Mentor H.S. (Ohio) Sports Hall of Fame.
Memberships include Life member of National Education Assn., BPO Elks, USA – Lodge 2606 Punta Gorda, Fl., AARP, China, Burma India Veterans Assn.: Local – Tarpon Basha, State Membership, National membership;
AAA, Burma Star – Life member, United States Golf Assn., Deep Creek Golf Club (Fla.), Deep Creek Civic Assn. (Fla), The Retired Officers Assn with rank of Captain. (local and national) and the American Legion Post 110 in Port Charlotte, Fla.
Survivors include his sons William R. (Hazel) of Dayton, Ohio and James L. and wife of Boston, Mass.; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Louise; parents Charles and Lulu Reese; sister Marguerite Miley 12/15/1997.

Funeral service for Thelma A. (Ott) Ladner, age 88, of Concord Twp. will be held 11 a.m. Monday April 5, 2004 at Brunner-Nixon Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 176 N. State St., Painesville.
Mrs. Ladner died Wednesday March 31, 2004 at LakeMed Nursing and Rehabilitation in Painesville. She was born April 23, 1915 in Dayton, she had lived in Eastlake before moving to Concord Twp. 3 years ago.
She was a member at the former Grace United Church of Christ in Cleveland and of Wickliffe Presbyterian.
Survivors include her daughters Barbara (Tony) Gamiero of Wickliffe and Alice (David) Leslie of Concord Twp.; son Charles (Deborah Painter) Ladner, Jr. of Chardon; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters Marjorie Smith of Wickliffe and Marcella Gilletly of Euclid; survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by her husband Charles; grandson Raymond Ladner; infant sister Helen Ott.
Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Faith (Hahn) Latimer, 79, of Mentor, will be noon Tuesday March 30, 2004 at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor.
Mrs. Latimer died March 27, 2004, at University Hospital in Cleveland. She was born June 14, 1924, in Willimantic, Conn., she lived in Mentor since 1966.
She was a former Cub Scout den mother and a member of Lunch Brunch for 20 years.
Mrs. Latimer was retired from Sears at Mentor Mall where she was a receiving clerk.
Survivors are her husband of 59 years, Cliff; daughters, Kristin (John) Daskalakis of Atlanta, Ga. and Karen (Jeff) Davidson of Cincinnati; son, Brian Latimer of Mentor; grandchildren, Lance, Noel, Tyler, Bradley and Elise; sisters, Wilda Frost of Pennsylvania and Virginia Walter of Massachusetts; and brother, William Hahn of Pennsylvania.
Her parents, William and Ruth Hahn, are deceased.
Friends may call from 10 to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
