Rocco DiCarlo, 84, of Painesville, passed away Sept. 19, 2011, at Hospice House in Cleveland surrounded by his loved ones. Born Feb. 7, 1927, in Frosolone, Italy, the son of Pasquale and Virginia DiCarlo, he came to Painesville in 1947 and married Mary Felicia D'Abate, also from Frosolone, in 1952. They were married 58 loving years.
He worked at the Diamond Shamrock for 30 years. He was also co-owner of DiCarlo Cleaning Company.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, walking, traveling, and casino trips. He had worked alongside the contractor building his own home in the late 60s.
Rocco was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with, and caring for his family and friends. He was kind and loving, and will be dearly missed. He was a member of St. Gabriel's Church in Concord Township.
Survivors include his wife, Mary F. DiCarlo; children, Pasquale (Cindy) DiCarlo, of Concord Township, Luigi (Diana) DiCarlo of Concord Township, Patricia (Sal) Lazuka of Kirtland, and Mary (Marco) Margelli of Lucca, Italy; grandchildren, Melissa, Lisa, Diane, Keith, John, Michael, Richard and Robert; great-grandchildren, Connor, Gavin, Andrew and Olivia; brother, Philip (Nadia) DiCarlo of Sarasota, Fla.; sisters, Mary (Angelo) Falcone of Boca Raton, Fla., and Anna Chesnut of Tallahassee, Fla.; and loving nieces and nephews.
Rocco was preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale and Virginia DiCarlo.
Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township, OH 44060.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119, with thanks for all of their help and kindness.

Helen Maxine White, 74, of Mentor, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Since her retirement, she had enjoyed her family, friends, travel, photography, stamp collecting, card club at the senior center, and most of all, Bingo!
She is survived by her brothers, Ronald, Jack, and David McGrew; and sister, Mary Nolan. She was the loving mother of four children, Penny, Charles, Candy and Holly; grandmother of nine; and great-grandmother of 11.
A private service will be held. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery beside her parents, Rexall and Dora McGrew.
The family suggests contributions be made to Hospice House, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119, in lieu of flowers.

Memorial mass for Edward M. Bozak, Jr., age 59, of Willoughby Hills formerly of Huntsburg, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 13, 2008 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 8560 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Mr. Bozak died at his residence. He was born February 28, 1949 in Uniontown, PA.
Mr. Bozak was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed snowboarding, riding his Harley, photography, traveling and computers. He was a member of the High Rise ski club, Southeast Harley and Western Reserve Harley, for whom he was the official photographer. He worked for Ohio Bell for 33 years retiring in Nov. of 1999.
Survivors include his daughters Diane Bozak of Ewing, NJ and Michelle Bozak of Burton; mother Frances Bozak of Mentor; brothers Bernard, Richard (Carol) and Robert (Deborah) Bozak; sisters Patricia (Daniel) DiFranco, Gloria (John) Sopko and Linda (John) Sichko; survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Edward M. Bozak, Sr.; infant brother David; nephew Raymond Bozak.
Family will receive friends 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. A private inurnment will be held at All Souls Cemetery, Chardon.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, c/o Western Reserve Harley, 35666 West Island Dr., Eastlake, OH 44094.

Funeral service for Ellwood “ Al” Fassett, age 75, of Mentor will be held 12 p.m. Thursday July 7, 2003 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave. Mentor.
Mr. Fassett died Sunday July 6, 2003 at Euclid General Hospital.
He was born September 24, 1927 in Cleveland, he lived in Euclid before moving to Mentor 24 years ago.
Mr. Fassett worked as a polisher of jet engine blades for TRW for 32 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a handyman who enjoyed working on houses and cars. Mr. Fassett enjoyed baseball, the lottery and yardwork as well as helping his neighbors and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving two tours, ending in 1945 and 1947, respectively.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years: Geraldine (Cook); daughters Kay (Ken) Ribich of Chardon, Jeri Hopeck of Mentor and Bonnie (Rich) Dula of Mentor; (5) grandchildren Debbie, Dawn, Ken Jr., Maryann and Nicholas; (5) great grandchildren Alan, Kayla, Bryan, Anthony and Simon; sisters Mildred Kramyar of Northfield and Laverne Burkett of Willoughby; brother Herb Fassett of Strongsville.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Dorothy Carner and Vera Graham; brothers Arnold “Buster”, Ray, Clinton “Duffy” and Jack Fassett.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Funeral service for John "Doug" Swiney, age 70, of Willoughby Hills, will be 8:30 p.m. Thursday March 27, 2008 at Brunner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Mr. Swiney died Friday, March 21, 2008, at his residence. He was born Jan. 11, 1938, in Elkhorn City, Ky., he lived in East Cleveland before moving to Willoughby Hills 40 years ago.
He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the F.O.P. and the Church of Christ in Kentucky. Mr. Swiney obtained his associate's degree from Lakeland Community College. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a major bluegrass fan and traveled the country to attend bluegrass concerts and festivals. Mr. Swiney was an East Cleveland police officer for 20 years and a Lakeland Community College police officer for 19 years prior to his retirement.
Survivors are his three sons, Jeffrey (Lisa) Swiney of Tampa, Fla., Brian (Barbara) Swiney of Mayfield Village and Michael John (Laura) Swiney of Freehold, N.J.; grandchildren, Laura, Kevin, Sean and Kyle Swiney; sister, Lexie Biliter of Painesville Township; sister-in-law, Leona Swiney of Willoughby; nieces and nephews, Erma (Thomas) Boyadjis, Robert (Diane) Swiney, Nancy (Charles) Zimmers and Linda (Tom) Anderson; and former wife and best friend, Lueana Swiney of Eastlake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Swiney; and many loving brothers and sisters.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Ohio Policeman's Benevolent Association, 10147 Royalton Road, Suite J., North Royalton, OH 44133.

James Niewiadomski
A celebration of life for James Niewiadomski will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Reception Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, (located on the property at the funeral home).
He passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. Mr. Niewiadomski is survived by his children, Paula (Samuel) Burger, William (Kristy) Niewiadomski and James Niewiadomski; father, Albert Niewiadomski; six loving grandchildren; one brother; and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Winifred; and grandson, Rylan.

Marion A. (Dolezal) Macura, age 87, of Mentor, formerly of Maple Heights, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Mentor Way Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Mentor. Marion was born Sept. 8, 1923, in New York City, N.Y.
The family wishes to thank all the dedicated caregivers at Governor's Point Assisted Living, Mentor Way Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Harbor Light Hospice for their special care of their Mom.
Survivors include her children, Denis (Pamela) Macura of Mentor and Janis (Thomas) Cook of Bratenahl; grandchildren, Rebecca (Joseph) Emery, Elizabeth and John Macura, Amy and Nicolas (Sophie) Potkalitsky; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Emery; and brother, John Dolezal Jr. of Florida.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Macura; parents, John and Marie Dolezal; and sister, Marcella (Stephen) Mayerski.
Entombment was in Mentor Cemetery in Mentor.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Mentor.
