Cecilia R. Dougherty
AQUILLA VILLAGE - Cecilia R. (Malinak) Dougherty, 80, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, at her home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Cleveland, to Joseph and Verunica (Hohol) Malinak. She was an Aquilla Village resident for 35 years, previously living in Burton.
She married Claremont A. Dougherty in Cleveland April 3, 1940.
Mrs. Dougherty was a cook for the Geauga County Pleasant Hill Home 16 years, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of the Church of St. Mary, Chardon. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had an extensive elephant collection.
Survivors include two daughters, Cecilia Clement of Mentor, and Doris Mausling of Hartsgrove; three sons, Patrick Dougherty of Connecticut, C.J. Dougherty of East Claridon Township, and Richard Dougherty of Chardon; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Antionette Malinak of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North St., Chardon, officiated by the Rev. Greg Schaut of St. Mary's. Burial will be in Claridon Center Cemetery, Claridon Township.
Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 and 9 p.m. Thursday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
Helmi Davenport
AUBURN HILLS - Helmi Davenport, 84, of Auburn Hills, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001.
She was formerly of Ashtabula.
Survivors include, a son, Tom; grandchildren, Bill, Darcy, Debbie, Dave, Dan and Lauren; and three great-grandchildren, Rhiannon, Gage and Katrisha.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart, and a son, Rod.
Service is 7 p.m. Thursday at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 West University Drive, Rochester, Mich.
Calling hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Adolph J. Orient
HAMBDEN TOWNSHIP - Adolph "Ed" J. Orient, 84, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at his home.
Born April 23, 1917, in Cleveland, he was a son of Adolph and Catherine (Schueger) Orient and had been a 70-year area resident, coming from Fairview Park.
He married Ethel Lawson on Sept. 25, 1948, at her home in Hartsgrove Township.
Mr. Orient had been a farmer of 70 years. He also was employed as a dock worker for 20 years at Rimes Trucking, Chardon, retiring in 1978.
He enjoyed woodworking and ceramics, collecting models of tractors, miniature cars and books. Upon his retirement, he took his camera with him everywhere. He enjoyed landscape photography. Mr. Orient enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Palmer of Hambden Township; three sons, Larry of Leroy Township, Edward of Andover, and Alan of Hambden Township; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Kathryn Cruise of Brockton, Mass., June Reynolds of Geneva, and Elinor Kinkelaar of Leroy Township; and three brothers, Albert of Chardon, Ralph of Leroy Township and Richard of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Hammond; and a granddaughter, Hannah Orient.
Service is 1 p.m. Saturday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, with the Rev. Ray. Mullet, chaplain of Hospice of Care Corp., Chardon, officiating. Burial will be in Hambden Cemetery, Hambden Township.
Calling hours are from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Joseph J. Tillinger
PARKMAN - Joseph James Tillinger, 57, of Parkman, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002.
He was born July 19, 1945, in Cleveland, the son of Joseph and Ethel (Fecko) Tillinger. He moved back to the Parkman area, from Baltimore, 10 years ago.
An U.S. Air Force veteran, he worked as a draftsman for Jayco, and enjoyed motorcycles, cars and boating.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Hoade, whom he married April 6, 1973, in Garfield Heights; and two daughters, Erika Brownfield of Parkman, and Shannon Tillinger of Mantua.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 8 p.m. Wednesday at Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St. (Route 87), in Middlefield. The Rev. Ray Mullet will officiate.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Dorothy Dolak (1 OF 2)
HAMBDEN TOWNSHIP - Dorothy Dolak, 79, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Heather Hill Nursing Home in Munson Township.
She was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Cleveland, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha Kvasne. She lived in Euclid before moving to Hambden Township in 1958.
Mrs. Dolak was a full-time wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, going to auctions, refinishing antiques and touring glass factories.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Wisniewski of Hambden; a son, Ronald Dolak of De Land, Fla.; five grandchildren; Martin Wisniewski of Hambden, Robin Wisniewski of Windsor, Jeni Fielder of Huntsburg, Jeffery Dolak of Lake Placid, Fla., and Eric Dolak of Ocean Ridge, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Kyle Dolak and Logan Fielder; and a brother, Tom Kvasne of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Dolak, in July 1996; her parents; two sisters, Bertha Riggs and Jean Kvasne; and a brother, Bob Kvasne.
Private graveside services will be held.

Toby R. Miller
PARKMAN TOWNSHIP - Toby R. Miller, 1, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, of complications present since birth, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 14, 2001, in Parkman Township, to Robert A. and Anna (Miller) Miller. He was a lifetime resident of Parkman Township.
Survivors include his parents, brother Robert Miller of Middlefield; paternal grandparents Ammon and Sara Miller of Middlefield; paternal great-grandfather John Miller of Holmes County; maternal grandparents Neil and Mattie Miller of Middlefield; and maternal great-grandfather Eli Miller of Middlefield.
He was preceded in death by grandmothers Clara Miller and Mattie Miller, great-grandfather Peter Miller and great-grandmother Anna Miller.
Funeral is 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at the residence, 16910 Tavern Road, Parkman Township, officiated by Bishop Jonas Yoder. Burial is in Yoder Amish Cemetery, Parkman Township.
Visitation is anytime at the residence.

Leah M. V. Hershberger
PARKMAN TOWNSHIP - Leah M. V. Hershberger, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 22, 1920 in Plain City, the daughter of Mose and Susannah B. (Frey) Miller.
She married Neal C. Hershberger Oct. 16, 1941.
Mrs. Hershberger was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and taking care of her family.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Albert of Parkman and Andy of Middlefield; eight daughters, Elizabeth Bender of N.Y., Esther Weaver of Parkman Township, whom she lived with, Marie Yoder of Huntsburg, Elmina Kurtz and Ann Byler of Middlefield, Edna and Mary Hershberger of Parkman and Katie Troyer of Burton; two brothers, Clarence of Iowa and Wallace of Wisconsin; and two half brothers and seven half sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997; two sons, Owen and Wallace; one brother; three sisters, one half brother; and two half sisters.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at the residence, 17670 Tavern Road, Parkman, with Bishop Jonas Yoder officiating.
Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Parkman Township.
