Dorothy Dolak (2 OF 2)
HAMBDEN TOWNSHIP - Dorothy Dolak, 79, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Heather Hill Nursing Home in Munson Township.
She was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Cleveland, to Joseph and Bertha Kvasne. She lived in Euclid before moving to Hambden Township in 1958.
Mrs. Dolak was a full-time wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, going to auctions, refinishing antiques and touring glass factories.
Survivors include daughter Cynthia Wisniewski of Hambden Township; son Ronald Dolak of Deland, Fla.; grandchildren Martin Wisniewski of Hambden Township, Robin Wisniewski of Windsor Township, Jeni Fielder of Huntsburg Township, Jeffery Dolak of Lake Placid, Fla. and Eric "Rick" Dolak of Ocean Ridge, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; and brother Tom Kvasne of Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her husband George E. Dolak in 1996, her parents, sisters Bertha Riggs and Jean Kvasne, and brother Bob Kvasne.
Private graveside service will take place.

Joseph Francis Blood
HAMBDEN TWP, OH - Joseph Francis Blood, 83, formerly of Jefferson, died Monday, August 4, 2003, at his home in Hambden Township.
Born October 13, 1919, in Jamestown, NY, he is the son of Francis Joseph and Zora Mae (nee: Reed) Blood. He married the late Gertrude Koepnick in West Seneca, NY, on August 2, 1964.
Mr. Blood lived in Vero Beach, FL, prior to moving to Hambden Township two and a half years ago.
He had been a painter with the Cleveland Bakers' and Teamsters' Union.
Described by his family as having a "unique personality" and a fun-loving person, he was devoted to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He found great enjoyment in watching Cleveland Indian's baseball games.
Survivors include one son, Joseph Blood of Perry; four daughters, Sharon Pulsifer of Painesville, Sandra Marthe of Madison, Karen Roberts of Lorain, and Billie Bauer of Chardon Township; fifteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Clarence Blood; a daughter, Susan Ernst; and one brother and sister.
A private family service was held. Burial was in the Mentor City Cemetery.

HAMBDEN – Henry Olzak, 79, of Hambden Township, died Friday, June 4, 2004.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 7 at Church of St. Mary, 401 North St. Chardon.
Calling Hours are 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 6.

Donald E. Navatsyk
HAMBDEN TOWNSHIP - Donald E. Navatsyk, 69, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000 at his home.
He was born May 9, 1931 in St. Michael, Pa., the son of Joseph and Ann Navatsyk. He had been an area resident for 37 years after moving here from South Fork, Pa.
Mr. Navatsyk worked as a machine shop supervisor for Fusion, Inc. in Willoughby. He retired in 1997 after 34 years.
He married Anna Phillips in South Fork, Pa., June 10, 1951.
Mr. Navatsyk was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War.
He had been employed as a coal miner in Pennsylvania for 10 years before moving to Chardon. He was a member of the Hambden Congregational Church in Hambden Township. Mr. Navatsyk was a graduate of Adams High School in Pennsylvania where he played football and was on the team that went undefeated and was unscored upon.
He was a member of American Legion Post 551 in St. Michael, Pa., and VFW Post 6519 in Chardon. He enjoyed maintaining his cars.
His life was devoted to his family, attending every sporting and school event of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Cheryl Kumher of Burton Township, Diane Tvergyak of Chardon Township, and Jill Ziegler of Thompson Township; a son, Donald A. Navatsyk of Chardon Township; 16 grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor Mackel of South Fork, Pa.
He is preceded in death by an infant son, Bradley Navatsyk; a grandson, Stephen Navatsyk; his parents; a baby brother, Joseph Navatsyk; and a sister, Dorothy Hunter.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Hambden Congregational Church, 13840 GAR Highway (RT. 6, just east of Rt. 608), Hambden Township. The Rev. John Dove of the church will officiate. Burial will be in the Hambden Township Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon Village.

Barbara E. Harry
HAMBDEN TOWNSHIP - Barbara E. Harry, 53, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at her home in Hambden Township.
Mrs. Harry was born April 9, 1947 in Cleveland, the daughter of Bob and Doris (McNamara) Sheperd.
She married Roy Harry in Macedonia in 1969.
Mrs. Harry was the owner and operator of "Dollfancies" on Chardon Square for six years. She was an active member of the Chardon Square Association and enjoyed dolls and doll repair. She was also an avid boater and enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Anna Harry of Hambden Township; two sons, Shawn and Brian, both of Middlefield; and her parents, of Spring Hill, Fla.
Service will be noon Saturday at the Unity Church of Christianity, 7887 Chalet Drive, Chesterland. The Rev. Sandra Hymel of the church will officiate. Burial will be in the Hambden Township Cemetery.

Robert E. Carlson
HAMBDEN TOWNSHIP - Robert E. Carlson, 76, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital.
Born Nov. 14, 1924, in New Bethlehem, Pa., he was the son of Rodney V. and Geraldine (Shilling) Carlson.
He moved to Hambden Township in 1951, coming from Erie, Pa.
Mr. Carlson worked as an auto worker at the former Fisher Body Plant in Euclid for 35 years, retiring in 1985.
He married Alice Wolfgang in Oak Park, Pa., on July 23, 1949.
He was a 1943 graduate of New Bethlehem High School and enjoyed collecting coins, working on crossword puzzles and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers on television. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 1045 in Euclid.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Chauda Labbe of Maine; and two grandchildren, Laura and Christopher Labbe.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, with the Rev. Jerome Lewis of the Hambden Alliance Church, Hambden Township, officiating.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hambden Cemetery, Hambden Township.

CLEVELAND - David E. Wells, 63, of Hambden Township, died Sunday, November 30, 2003 at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
