Frank E. Dufner
NEWBURY TOWNSHIP - Frank E. Dufner, 50, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Milestones Assisted Living in Bainbridge Township.
Born March 13, 1951, in Cleveland, he was a son of Frank and Hermine Dufner. He had been a resident of Newbury Township for nine months and had lived previously in Olmsted Falls.
He was an assistant manager for the Giant Eagle in Richfield and had been in the grocery industry for 35 years.
He was an avid golfer, who enjoyed playing throughout Northeast Ohio. He enjoyed spending time with his children.
Survivors include his mother of Berea; one daughter, Jessica Rose Dufner of Olmsted Falls; one son, Jason Dufner of Auburn, Ala.; two sisters, Alyce Orange of Berea and Mary Joy Portman of Newbury Township; two brothers, Ernest Dufner of Bakersfield, Calif. and Alan John Dufner of Cleveland; and former wives, Barbara Schultz of Naples, Fla. and Kathy Dufner of Olmsted Falls.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury. The Rev. Jay McPhillips of the church will officiate.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland.
Calling hours are Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.

Darrell L. Bice
NEWBURY TOWNSHIP - Darrell Lee Bice, 48, of Kiwanis Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at his home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1953, in Cullman, Ala., the son of Francis and Lola Mae (Baker) Bice, and was a lifelong Newbury Township resident.
He worked as a housepainter for Designer Walls Inc., Garfield Heights.
He married Gale Betty Bopp on Aug. 22, 1986, in Chardon.
He was an avid Cleveland Brown fan and enjoyed floral gardening, food, cooking, fishing and taking his grandchildren to the park.
Survivors include his wife; his daughter, Melissa Blewett of Chardon; two sons, James Battaglia of Mentor, and Daniel Battaglia of Newbury Township; seven grandchildren; two brothers, James and Bill of Newbury Township; and three sisters, Betty Glasscock of Burton, Bobby Dodson of Nelson and Sybil Cary of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Fran White; and a brother, Joe.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. Brian Bagley-Bonner, pastor of Newbury United Community Church, Newbury Township, will officiate. Burial will be in Munn Cemetery, Newbury Township.

Kathleen M. Krizner
NEWBURY TOWNSHIP - Kathleen Marie Krizner, 57, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at her home.
She was born March 3, 1944, in Cleveland, the daughter of John and Rosemary (Henderson) Brent and was a lifelong Newbury Township resident.
Mrs. Krizner worked as an in-home nanny for nine children during a 20-year period.
She enjoyed flowers, crafts and gardening, and was a lifelong member of St. Helen's Church, Newbury Township.
Survivors include her husband John, whom she married June 25, 1966, at St. Helen's in Newbury; her sons, Timothy and Daniel, of Newbury; a grandson, Caleb Thomas; her mother of Newbury; and four brothers, Brian of Pierpont Township, Terrance of Monroe Township, and Dennis and Timothy of Newbury Township.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1985.
Service is 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Helen's Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township with the Rev. William Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Munn Cemetery, Newbury Township.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Ritondaro Funeral Home, 126 South St., Chardon.

Margaret G. Krempasky
SOUTH NEWBURY Margaret G. Krempasky, 88, died Sunday, April 15, 2001, at Grand Valley Country Manor in Windsor.
She was born Nov. 5, 1912, in Leckrone, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Smolko) Galdun. She had been a resident of South Newbury since 1976 before living in Cleveland.
Mrs. Krempasky was the original Rosie-the-Riveter for nine years at Fisher Body Colt Road during World War II.
She enjoyed sewing and her family.
Mrs. Krempasky was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church in Newbury and a charter member of First Catholic Slovak Ladies Union in Beachwood.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen L. of Hudson, and William of Westlake; a daughter, Mary Jo Liba of Bainbridge; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen A. in November 1993; her parents; six sisters, Helen Golden, Mary Hrusovsky, Agnes Sagnack, Anna Urbany, Susan Zelenak-Green and Catherine Dienes; three brothers, Michael, Joseph and Andrew Golden; and a step brother, Frank Sanco.
A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at S. Helen's Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury, with the Rev. Jay McPhillips, pastor of St. Helen's Church officiating. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.

Joyce A. Paschke
NEWBURY TOWNSHIP - Joyce A. Paschke, 59, died May 29, 2001, at Grand Valley Country Manor, Windsor Township.
Born July 23, 1941, she was a daughter of Leonard and Mary (McCormley) Roux and had lived in Newbury since 1979, coming from Pittsburgh.
She married Donald D. Paschke on Aug. 6, 1966, in Sharon, Pa.
She worked as an art teacher at Wiley Junior High School, Cleveland Hts., during the 1960s. She also worked as a client advocate and recreational therapist at the Metzenbaum Center, Chester Township, during the 1980s. She retired in 1991.
A graduate of Transylvania University, Lexington, Ky., in 1962, she attended Cleveland State University working toward her masters degree.
She enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed "shelling" at the beach with her children and shopping.
Mrs. Paschke was an active member of the League of Women Voters as well as the Newbury PTO and Newbury Boosters Club.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carolyn Joyce of Roaming Shores; a son. Scott Donald of Newbury Township; and two sisters, Dawn Hazlett of Southport, N.C., and Lynn Lantz of Beaufort, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

William Leroy Hogan
NEWBURY - William Leroy Hogan, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at University Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Portage, Pa., the son of Charles and Lillian (Meek) Hogan, and moved to the Newbury area from Mentor 25 years ago.
He was parts manager at Euclid Inc., formerly Euclid Road Machinery, for 32 years, retiring in 1980.
He served with the Navy during World War II, and received Asiatic Pacific Area and Philippine Liberation ribbons.
He was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church in Newbury, and in his leisure time enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Novak, whom he married Oct. 19, 1979, at St. Helen's; a son, Robert of Bellbrook; grandchildren: Karen Hogan, Theresa Joherl and Debra Babicz; four great-grandchildren: Billy Joherl, Hunter Babicz, Julia Joherl and Gunnar Babicz; and a sister, Edna McClelland of Portage, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Florence, to whom he was married 38 years; a brother, George; and sisters: Alice Hawksworth and Elizabeth Pomeroy.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury. Jay McPhillips, pastor at St. Helen's, will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.

Louise U. Sidora
NEWBURY TOWNSHIP - Louise Ursula Sidora, 85, of Newbury, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township.
Born March 2, 1917, in Independence, she was the daughter of Louis and Lizzie (Bass) Zeisel. She lived in Newbury since 1959 after moving from Cleveland.
She married Andrew Sidora on Jan. 31, 1948, in Cleveland. She served in SPAR with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
Mrs. Sidora worked for 20 years at lunch counter in the Chardon Woolworth's store, Chardon Plaza.
She volunteered for more than 30 years at the coffee shop at Geauga Community Hospital. She received a 5, 000-hour volunteer award for her service.
Known for her fabulous baking at bake sales and church functions, she also enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, knitting, gardening and canning.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew; daughters, Andrea Daniels of Mentor and Amy Morton of Napa, Calif.; sons, David of Newbury and Gary of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, Sara Wickham, Gary Sidora, Andy Sidora, Buddy Sidora and Ursula Morton; and a great-grandchild, Alexis Woody.
She was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents, Richard and Katherine Peck; and a granddaughter, Jamie Sidora.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Newbury United Community Church, 14916 Auburn Road, just south of Route 87, in Newbury Township, with the Rev. Brian Bagley-Bonner officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Burial will be in Newbury Center Cemetery, across the street from the church.
