Mrs. Bonner was a member of the Concord Alliance Church, Concord Twp., She enjoyed Cooking and Baking for her family, flower and vegetable gardening, reading, crafts and loved attending Blue Grass Music festivals. She and her husband enjoyed camping through out the United States. She is survived by her husband: Dwight Bonner of Munson Twp., OH Daughters: Christine Moffett of Warren, OH Sherry Bonner of Chardon, OH Sons: Gary Bonner of Chardon, OH Gregory (Gayle) Bonner of South Riding, VA Grandchildren: Jacob Bonner, Keith & Kyle Hershberger, John Bergenstein, Elyssa & Ryan Bonner Sister: Mary Lea Yokum, of Claridon Twp., OH

Arlene Doris Ginn (nee: Domrese)
Born: 1/9/1919
Died: 6/5/2003
Services will be held at: Memorial service Monday, June 9 at 11:00 at the Community Church of Chesterland, 11984 Caves Road, Chesterland, OH

During WWII, she was a First Lieutenant in the US Army Medical Corps as a Dietitian, having interned at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. She served as a dietitian for Gen. John J. Pershing, as well as wounded members of the "Doolittle Raiders" (including Ted W. Lawson, author of the book Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo.) She met her husband, Bill, while working at Walter Reed Hospital, and she supported them while he finished his schooling at Bates College and Yale Law School. She worked as a chemist at Bates Manufacturing Company in Lewiston, Maine, where her team developed the first drip-dry-wrinkle-resistant cotton fabric, slip-proofing for cotton rugs, and a coating to prevent the atmospheric fading of acetate rayon. In July, 1947, she was a dietitian at a summer program of the American Field Service Committee on International Relations at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. From 1947-1950, she developed and managed an in-plant feeding program for employees at Berger Brothers in New Haven, Conn., a long established corset company that also manufactured high altitude flying suits and some of the first "space suits." She and her husband moved to Cleveland in 1950 where he practiced law with Thompson, Hine & Flory. She volunteered as a nutrition counselor at the Free Clinic and at the Clement Center for Cleveland Metro Health Care System.Education: Bachelor of Arts in Nutrition and Chemistry from University of North Dakota 1941, Phi Beta Kappa. Master of Science Degree in Nutrition in 1976 from Case Western Reserve University. Member of the Plymouth Church in Shaker Heights, OH Active with The Community Church of Chesterland, OH Deeply involved with the Cooperative Extension Service in Cleveland and with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, counseling Sioux Indian families being relocated to Cleveland in the 1960's. Member of the Women's Committee of Childrens Services, Cleveland, OH Member of the Holden Arboretum and was active with the Geauga Park District and the Geauga Park District Foundation. Early member and Ohio Coordinator for the Benign Essential Blepherospasm Foundation Member of the American Dietetic Association; Chester Study Club; Music Committee at Community Church in Chesterland; The Intown Club and The Nature Conservancy. While raising her four children, she was a volunteer extraordinaire for many other community organizations: Cub Scouts; PTA (President); Girl Scouts; Boy Scouts (all three sons are Eagle Scouts); and other community organizations in Shaker Heights and Chesterland. She had a zest for living which resulted in many activities including travel and outdoor recreation. She traveled with her family in Europe and North, South, and Central America (Iceland, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Norway, etc.) Summer of 1972, she and her family climbed Wind River Peak in Wyoming. She was a fitness enthusiast, accomplished swimmer and downhill and cross-country skier. She raised Guinea Hens for a hobby. She supported all of her husband's many endeavors and community contributions. Together they helped preserve the West Woods for the Geauga Park District. Awards: Received the Sioux Award (1996) the highest honor for a University of North Dakota graduate for her distinguished alumni support, lifetime commitments, and professional achievements as a nutritionist. Note: She was born to a bilingual Norwegian-American family. Her grandparents were pioneers from Norway. In 1883, they homesteaded in the Red River Valley along the Minnesota-North Dakota border. She valued highly her immigrant roots and her early years in a farming community in the Great Plains. She is survived by her husband of 58 years: William D. Ginn of Chesterland, OH 1 Daughter: Anna (Roger Conover) Ginn of So. Freeport, ME 3 Sons: William James (June LaCombe) Ginn of Pownal, ME Randall Thomas (Dianne) Ginn of Perrysburg, OH David Domrese (Cheryl) Ginn of Huntersville, NC 10 Grandchildren

He was Mr. Adventure, enjoying snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling and archery. He was a member of the Euclid Hunting and Rifle Club, Thompson Snowmobile Club. Mr. Johnson enjoyed Trap and Skeet Shooting and a good cigar. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting. Ms. Ferlito enjoyed bowling and was active on a league in S. Euclid. George R. Simmons

Red was elected Geauga County Sheriff in 1992, assuming office in Jamuary 1993. Previously he was the Assistant Public Defender for Geauga County. He had a private law practice in Burton with a primary emphasis on complex fraud litigation, especially government fraud. From 1984 to 1990 Sheriff Simmons was a Special Agent for the US Department of Defense, Defense Criminal Investigative Services. From 1978-1984 He was a Special Agent for the US Department of Labor, Organized Crime and Racketeering Section. From 1971-1978, He was a Special Agent for the US Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration. Prior to that, Sheriff Simmons was a Special Agent, Division of Criminal Activities, Ohio Attorney General in Columbus.Sheriff Simmons was a 1964 Graduate of Chagrin Falls High School, a 1971 Graduate of Kent State University and received his JD from Cleveland State University in 1986. Sheriff Simmons was a Certified Jail Manager, Certified Law Enforcement Manager, Certified Corrections Executive and Cainine Handler with partner "Star", just to name a few. He was a member of the Burton Congregational Church, Burton. Sheriff Simmons was an Amateur Radio operator since 1958. He was an active member and Past President of the Burton-Middlefield Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. Sheriff Simmons was the co-founder of the Leprechaun Foundation in Cleveland in 1980. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, traveling and boating. Wanda Mae Holt
Wanda Mae Holt , age 80, of Hambden Township, passed away, Thursday, September 16, 2010 in Chardon. Mrs. Holt was born on August 14, 1930, in Warren, Ohio to Floyd D. and Adaline A. Moyer. She married Donald Caliere Holt on June 5, 1950, in Alliance, Ohio and the couple moved to Hambden Twp. in 1961. Mrs. Holt will be remembered as a dedicated wife and mother, placing her family first. She was a member of the Bridge Club at the Mentor Civic Center, and a regular golfer at Pleasant Hills Golf Course in Chardon. Wanda volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for many years and was active in fundraising for the American Diabetes Association. She cherished the yearly family vacations spent at the Family Cabin in Pointe au Baril, Ontario. She is survived by her husband, Donald Holt, her children; Christine (Thomas) Koster, Kathleen Turk, Patrick (Rebecca) Holt, Kevin (Denise) Holt, Terence (Tina) Holt, and Daniel (Charlotte) Holt, grandchildren; Erin, Jeannine, Brian, Keith, Melanie, Will, Dan, Alexandra, Julia, Michelle, Cary and Abigal, great grandchildren; Jacob, Aidan, Madison, Kaleb, Savannah, Eva, Grayson, Isaiah, Annabelle, Julian, Kaylee and Makenzie, her sisters; Mary Thomas and Dorothy (Jeff) Jeffries, brothers; (William (Patricia) Moyer and Thomas (Carol) Moyer and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her brother, John Moyer. Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19th, at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Church of St. Patrick, 16550 Rock Creek Road in Thompson, concelebrated by Fr. Paul Smith and Fr. Jerry Knoll. Burial will take place at Hambden Township Cemetery, following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association at 4500 Rockside Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44131.

Mary Helen Orosz
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Helen Orosz, age 85, of Munson will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon. Mrs. Orosz passed away Wednesday morning, September 15th. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 15, 1924, the daughter of Arthur and Helen (Boughton) Palmer. Mary earned her Nursing Degree from St. Vincent Hospital of Toledo, in 1945 and married George Orosz on December 27, 1947. She worked at Booth Memorial and Hillcrest Hospital in the Emergency Room and then worked at Heather Hill Healthcare in Munson. Mary had been a resident of Munson, since 1985, coming from Cleveland Heights. She was a talented artist, specializing in water color. She is survived by her husband George, of Munson, Children; Constance (David) Waggoner of Chardon, Holly (Dennis) Quigley of Columbus, Thaddeus (Kaye) Orosz of Bozeman, Montana, Gregory Orosz (Eileen Sweeney) of South Euclid, Cynthia (Terry) Dean of Solon, 18 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brothers George (Ginger) Palmer of Westlake, William (Irene) Palmer of Temperance, Michigan, sisters; Ruthann (Mark) Sweeney of Toledo and Molly Palmer of Roslyn, Washington, daughter in law Nancy Orosz of Columbus and brother in law Albert Bringardner of Painesville and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her son Charles Orosz and sister Patricia Bringardner. Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions, made in her memory, to City of St. Jude 2048 West Fairview Avenue, Montgomery, Alabama 36108.
