Vera M. Young
PARKMAN TOWNSHIP - Vera M. Young, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital, Claridon Township.
She was born April 28, 1929, in Casey, Iowa, the daughter of William F. and Elzena (Edson) Shingler.
Mrs. Young had lived in Parkman Township since 1956, coming from West Farmington.
She was a graduate from West Farmington High School as well as Trumbull Business College.
She married Keith Young on May 22, 1948, in West Farmington.
She formerly worked at Johnson Rubber, Middlefield Plastics, Scientific First and had retired from the Geauga County Home in 1992 at the age of 62.
Mrs. Young enjoyed gardening and farming.
She was a member of Greasy Hubs Square Dance Club, Phythian Sisters and West Farmington Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Karl of Stanfield, N.C., Keith of Concord, N.C., Kevin of Chardon, Kirk of Parkman and Kent of Bristolville; two daughters, Kathleen Young of Newton Falls, and Karolyn Miller of Middlefield; a brother, Donald Shingler of Champion; a sister, Donna Fiest of Fowler; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William R. Shingler.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 275 E. Main St., West Farmington, with the Rev. Brad Winkler of Willo-Hill Baptist Church, Willoughby officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, West Farmington.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Kathryn I. Moore
HUNTSBURG TOWNSHIP - Kathryn "Kathy" I. (Lamp) Moore, 36, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2002, in Windsor Township.
She was born Oct. 8, 1966 in Akron, the daughter of Arnold "Bob" and Bonnie (Wilson) Leary.
She lived in West Virginia before moving to Geauga County 10 years ago.
Mrs. Moore was a line operator for Kinetico Water Treatment Plant in Newbury Township for a year and a half.
She enjoyed camping, the outdoors and spending time with her children.
Survivors include her daughters, Texie Belle Leary of Beverly, W. Va. and Mariah Janine Moore of Chardon; sons, Benny Hinchman of Beverly, W. Va. and Paul A. Moore of Chardon; her parents, Arnold "Bob" and Bonnie (Wilson) Leary, both of Beverly, W. Va.; sisters, Penny O'Brien of Middlefield, Twylla Paugh of Oakland, Md., Shelly Tasker of Cumberland, Md. and Rhonda Rix of Wesminister, Md.; brothers, Michael Ware of Beverly, W. Va. and Keith Ware of Sandyville, W. Va.; and former husband, Stephen Moore of Chardon.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Ware.
Services will be 7 p.m., Monday at Pilgrim Christian Church, 202 S. Hambden St., Chardon, with the Rev. Robert D. Penrod of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Mingo Cemetery, Mingo, W.Va.

Stanley W. Grys
HUNTSBURG TOWNSHIP - Stanley W. Grys, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001.
Survivors include sisters Stephanie Nickels and Bernice Balinsky.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenabelle; two sisters, Germaine Goldschmidt and Anne Clipinger; and two brothers, Theodore and John Grys.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Tomon and Sons Funeral Home, 4772 Pearl Road, Cleveland. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mitchell B. Rose
HUNTSBURG TOWNSHIP - Mitchell B. Rose, 76, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at UHHS Geauga Hospital.
He was born March 1, 1926, in Richwood, W.Va., the son of Dexter and Vertie Rose.
He lived in the area for 45 years.
He married Aretta Hoover June 29, 1946, in Greenup, Ky.
Mr. Rose worked at a General Motors factory in Euclid.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening and yardwork.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pamela Springer of Huntsburg; three sons, Jerry Rose of Windsor, Jimmy Rose of Little Birch, W.Va., and Mark Rose of Huntsburg; a brother, Gene Rose of Kimberly, W.Va.; a sister, Opal Hollandsworth of Cowen, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Jerry Jr., Michael, Justin, Daryl, Katie, Fawn and Jessica; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karen Rose; two brothers, Masel Rose and Edgar Rose; and two sisters, Dorothy Hoover and Edna Hughes.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield. The Rev. David Johnson from Huntsburg Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Huntsburg Cemetery, Huntsburg Township.
Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Brianna N. Terry
HUNTSBURG - Brianna Nicole Terry, 10 days old, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, in Tod Children's Hospital, Youngstown, because she was born premature.
She was born May 15, 2002, in Warren, to Jason Terry and Mary Beth Bentley.
Survivors include her parents; grandparents Larry and Patricia Terry of Mercer, Pa., and Adam and Frances Misterka of Huntsburg; and great-grandparents Ida Hawthorne of Mercer, Pa., and Robert and Evelayn Basler of Chardon.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandfather.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield. Burial will be in Huntsburg Cemetery.
Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Alberta E. DeFranco (nee: Swanda)

Mrs. DeFranco enjoyed cooking and reading. She was very proud of and enjoyed bragging about her grandchildren. Mrs. DeFranco enjoyed talking and helping others. She is survived by her husband Peter DeFranco of Hambden Twp., sons Peter (Ginny) DeFranco of Middlefield, Mark DeFranco of Hambden Twp., daughters Suzanne (Eric) Parker of Ashtabula, Kimberly DeFranco of MN, grandchildren Kayla, Kaitlin, Julie, Rachael, Elizabeth, Jason and Daniel. Her parents Albert and Barbara Swanda are deceased.
Hal C. LeBar
Born: March 29, 1915
Died: August 24, 2004
Services: Friday, August 27 at 1:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (on St. Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square).
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until the time of the service.
Mr. LeBar served in the US Army, serving in the S. Pacific and in Italy with the 10th Mountain Division, 85th Regiment, Headquarters Company during World War II. He was awarded two Bronze Stars while serving in the Italian Theater. Mr. LeBar was a marksman, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting sports. He is susvived by his wife Joan (nee: Steffancin) LeBar of Hambden Twp., daughters Jessica LeBar (Scott Lawyer) of Strongsville, and Christine (Tom) Brawn of Apex, NC and grandchild Alex Brawn of Apex, NC. His parents Adelbert and Eva (nee: Curtiss) LeBar, sister Alleen Smith and brother Wayne LeBar are all deceased.
