George A. Anderson
MUNSON TOWNSHIP - George A. "Timar" Anderson, 73, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at his home.
Born Sept. 16, 1927, in Cleveland, he was the son of Albert V. and Hilda (Malm) Anderson and had been an area resident for the past 22 years.
He married Martha Bellak on April 25, 1952, in Cleveland. Mr. Anderson worked as a painter/decorator for 49 years.
A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Anderson enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and remodeling his home.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Deborah Rose of Munson Township, Larraine S. Shirk of South Euclid and Lisa Mintus of Mayfield Heights; two sons, Jeffrey A. of Kingwood, Texas, and Scott M. of Munson; eight grandchildren, Meagan, Brett and Cory Anderson of Kingwood, Texas, Lindsay and Adam Shirk of South Euclid, Caragh and Rachael Rose of Munson Township, and Tyler Mintus of Mayfield Heights; and a sister, Tillie Malm of Gates Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family service was held.

John F. Holstein
MUNSON TOWNSHIP - John Franklin "Bud" Holstein, 74, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at his daughter's residence in Chardon.
He was born Sept. 18, 1927, in St. Albans, W.Va. He was a Munson Township resident for the past two years, previously living in Mentor for 45 years.
Mr. Holstein was a member of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II and the Korean War.
He was employed as a welder for 23 years at Catterpillar Corp. in Mentor.
Mr. Holstein attended Chester Christian Center of the Assembly of God. He was a member of the Historical Engine Society in Burton. He enjoyed his family and was an all-around handyman.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte L. (McCallister) Holstein; daughter Pam J. Lang of Chardon; grandchildren Brandon J., Jordan Tyler, and Brianna M. Lang; brothers Eugene Holstein of Ripley, W.Va., and James, Steve, Joe and Calvin Holstein, all of St. Albans, W.Va.; and sisters Norma Clark of Joliet, Ill., and Barbara Ray of Ripley, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by twin sons Ronnie and Donnie Holstein, granddaughter Alyssa Lang, and sisters Mary Brammer, Betty Sowards, and Ida Easter.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chester Christian Center, 11815 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, officiated by Pastor Stephan J. Sawczak. Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St., Mentor. Burial is in Mentor Cemetery.
Elizabeth Myers
MUNSON TOWNSHIP Elizabeth Myers, 67, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital.
She was born Aug. 29, 1933, the daughter of Robert and Charlotte Hall and had been an area resident for 43 years coming from Euclid.
She married Jerry J. Myers on Sept. 7, 1958, in Cleveland.
Mrs. Myers was an teacher at Munson Elementary, Chardon Local Schools for 10 years. She also worked for the American Cancer Society, Concord Township, for more than 10 years.
Mrs. Myers was active with the Bass Lake Community Center, serving as secretary, enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle and was an active member and former president of the Geauga County Panhellenic Association, having chaired the Century Home Tour several times.
Survivors include three sons, Barry and Patrick of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tim of Cincinnati; and four grandchildren, Ashley and Justin Myers of Phoenix, and Stephanie and Jackie Myers of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 20, 1999, and her parents.
Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, with the Rev. Marvin Brown of Chardon United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery, Chardon Township.
Calling hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Richard F. Warner
MUNSON TOWNSHIP - Richard (Dick) F. Warner, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1921, at the Grey Horse Farm in Munson, to Franz and Anna (Bailey) Warner. He was a lifelong Munson Township resident and a 1939 graduate of Chester High School. He married Marie Erhardt Oct. 24, 1942, at Chester Community Church in Chester Township.
Mr. Warner was a machinist at National Acme Company in Cleveland for 41 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a master sergeant with the 2015th Ordnance Maintenance Company Air Force-Army during World War II, serving from Nov. 9, 1942, to Jan. 7, 1946. His assignments included serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and he was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
Mr. Warner enjoyed all sports, especially golf and baseball. He played on many baseball teams, both in high school and in town.
Survivors include his wife, Marie; daughters Elaine Lytle of Naples, Fla., and Marsha Kuhlman of Van Nuys, Calif.; a son, Charles Warner of East Stroudsburg, Pa.; grandchildren David and Jennifer Lytle, Greta and Phoebe Kuhlman, and Chloe Warner; and a brother, Fred Warner of Chesterland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marjorie Knapp and brother Roger Warner.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Edward Vincent Ehrbar
MUNSON - Edward Vincent Ehrbar, 76, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 29, 1924, in Cleveland, the son of Oscar and Ceclia Ehrbar. He moved to Munson from Lyndhurst in 1978.
He worked as a chemical engineer at Lubrizol, retiring in 1985 after 35 years of employment. He was a Navy veteran and aviation electronic technician.
He was a member of the Church of St. Helen, and in his leisure time enjoyed golf, repairing things and spending time with his family.
Survivors include children: Raymond of Concord, Thomas of Munson, Jean Haus of Dayton, Pat Feeley of Lexington, Ky., Donna Henry of Munson, Stephen of Jupiter, Fla., and Angie Dych of Aurora; a brother, James of Columbia Station; a sister, Marianne Mowchan of McMurray, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; and brothers: Robert, William and Raymond.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church of St. Helen, 12060 Kinsman Road, Newbury. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ritondaro Funeral Home, 126 South St., Chardon.

Mrs. DeFranco enjoyed cooking and reading. She was very proud of and enjoyed bragging about her grandchildren. Mrs. DeFranco enjoyed talking and helping others. She is survived by her husband Peter DeFranco of Hambden Twp., sons Peter (Ginny) DeFranco of Middlefield, Mark DeFranco of Hambden Twp., daughters Suzanne (Eric) Parker of Ashtabula, Kimberly DeFranco of MN, grandchildren Kayla, Kaitlin, Julie, Rachael, Elizabeth, Jason and Daniel. Her parents Albert and Barbara Swanda are deceased.
Barbara Alexander (nee: Mumaw)

Mrs. Alexander was a member of the Pilgrim Christian Church, Chardon, where she had been active in the church choir. She also volunteer for the Geauga County Public Library, delivering books to the Amish Schools. Mrs. Alexander studied French Horn and vocal music at the Dana School of Music in Warren, and won several superior ratings at state music competitions. She had been a member of the all girl Fadettes Concert Band in Warren. Mrs. Alexander had played the French Horn in the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and was a charter member of the Geauga County Fair Band. She was a graduate of the Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Warren. She is susvived by her husband Robert A. of Munson Twp., daughter Sharon (Robert) Owen of Tehachapi, CA, grandchildren David Autore and Lauren Owen, sisters Gladys VanDorn of Phoenix, AZ, Evelyn Haney of Alliance, OH, and Norma Emerson of Brighton, MI. Her parents are deceased. Donations are suggested to the Baptistery Fund of Pilgrim Christian Church, 202 South Hambden St., Chardon, OH 44024.
