Rose M. Taddeo
CLARIDON TOWNSHIP - Rose Marie Taddeo, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2002, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital, Claridon Township.
She was born Oct. 6, 1915, in Cleveland, the daughter of Frank and Giovanna (Albertucci) Grasso. She married Dominick Taddeo on Nov. 22, 1932.
Mrs. Taddeo had lived in Claridon Township for the past 45 years, coming from South Euclid.
She owned and operated Tadd's Custard Stand, Claridon Township, from 1955 to 1961.
Mrs. Taddeo also was a quality control inspector at the former L.F.E., Chester Township, from 1964 when the company was A.P.I., until her retirement in 1977.
She was a member of the Chardon Parent Teacher Association from 1955 to 1966 and was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader in Chardon from 1959 to 1962.
Mrs. Taddeo was an active member of the Geauga County Democratic Party and ran for county recorder in 1960.
Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Taddeo of Shipshewana, Ind.; a grandson, A.J. Babcock of Columbus; two sisters, Minnie Bocci of San Jose, Calif., and Josephine Capretti of Euclid; and brother, Albert Grasso of Lake Elsinore, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband in April 1997; her parents; a brother, Anthony Grasso and sisters, Eva Morek and Jean Dicorpo.
Service is 10 a.m. Thursday at the Ritondaro Funeral Home, 126 South St., Chardon. Burial will be at the Crucifixion Mausoleum of All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Doris Wilson
CLARIDON TOWNSHIP - Doris "Chris" Wilson, 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Cleveland, to Albert Clifton and Katie (Grey) Zorn. She was an area resident since 1960.
Mrs. Wilson graduated from East High School in 1945. She married Robert S. Wilson Aug. 16, 1947 in Cleveland.
She was a finisher at Neff Perkins in Middlefield, starting in 1978. She retired in 1994.
Mrs. Wilson was a member of the East Claridon Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She was also a member of the East Claridon Methodist Church Women's Society, East Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cleveland and the Claridon Parent-Teacher Organization. She also served as a Cub Scout leader.
She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bowling, her friends and family.
Survivors include sons Robert S. Jr. of Burton, Lawrence D. Sr. of Claridon Township and Gerald of Claridon Township; daughter Doris Wilson Jr. of Claridon Township; sisters Janelle Boston of Litchfield, Ariz., Lutie Gregory of Euclid and Vivian Zorn of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, son Kenneth and brother Albert Clifton Zorn.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Lighthouse United Methodist Church, 14780 Mayfield Road, officiated by the Rev. C.W. Goodman. Burial is in East Claridon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church after the service.

Wilma F. Kronk
CLARIDON TOWNSHIP - Former Geauga County Auditor Wilma F. Kronk, 91, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Blossom Hill Care Center, Huntsburg Township.
Born in Orwell, she was the daughter of William J. and Sarah Fuller and had lived in Claridon Township for more than 57 years, coming from Huntsburg and Chardon.
She began her career working in the Geauga County Treasurer's Office, than became part of the county auditor's staff. In 1943, after the death of then auditor Ethel Thrasher, She was appointed to fill the vacant position and served in that capacity until 1968, longer than any auditor in county history.
She married Walter Kronk on Oct. 7, 1944, in Chardon.
Mrs. Kronk was a member of the Northeast Ohio Auditors Association and the Ohio State Auditors Association. She also was a former member of Ruby Chapter 4, Order of Eastern Star, Chardon; and a member of Clover Chapter 201, OES, Burton.
Survivors include her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jeffrey, in January 1967.
Graveside service is 11 a.m. today in Claridon Center Cemetery, Claridon Township, with the Rev. Ray Mullet officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.

Loren Brockway
CLARIDON TOWNSHIP - Loren Brockway, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Heather Hill, Munson Township.
He was born Aug. 8, 1919, in Montville Township, the son of Loren P. and M. Zora (Fitzgerald) Brockway.
Mr. Brockway was an insurance agent, founding the Brockway-Bond Insurance Agency, Burton. He worked as a supervisor at Snapout Forms, Chardon, while beginning a career in insurance. He retired in 1988.
He married Arline K. Metzger on May 17, 1941, in Chardon.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II, Pacific Theatre, serving in the Philippines and New Guinea.
He was a founding and active participating member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Munson Township.
He was a member of American Legion Post 459 in Burton; past president, treasurer, and clerk of the former Claridon Elementary School System.
Mr. Brockway took an active roll in both school and community sports for his children and other youth. He was a former member of the Claridon Township Zoning Commission and the township Board of Zoning Appeals. After retirement, he volunteered at Chardon Municipal Court.
He is remembered by his family and friends for his storytelling and teasing, and his favorite pastime - a love for playing cards. He was an active participant in the monthly meeting of the "Over the Hill" gang.
He is survived by his wife, Arline (Metzger) Brockway of Claridon Township; a daughter, Brenda Chapman of Claridon Township; three sons David L. of Claridon Township. Jerome R. of Jefferson, and Brian A. of Claridon Township; a sister, Patricia Kosmerl of Willowick; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kathryn Albright and Lucille Corrigan.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church, 12686 Bass Lake Road, Munson Township. with The Rev. Donald Heino officiating.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Burr Funeral Home, 16 South St., Chardon. Burial will be in the Claridon Center Cemetery, Claridon Township.

JACK R. ELDREDGE
CLARIDON TWP - Jack R. Eldredge, DDS, 83, of Chardon, died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township.
A memorial service will be Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North Street, Chardon. Dr. Reverend Henry Woodruff of the church and Pastor Robert D. Penrod of the Pilgrim Christian Church in Chardon will officiate. Burial will be in Chardon Municipal Cemetery, Chardon. Family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Mr. Barnes was a lifelong Chester Twp. Resident, graduating from West Geauga High School in 1996. He was a lumberman for his uncle at the Barnes Saw Mill, Chester Twp., OH. He has worked at the mill since graduating from high school. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Chester Twp. His survivors are his parents: David C. and Cynthia (Miller) Barnes of Chester Twp., OH and brothers: Jason and Charles Barnes, both of Chester Twp., OH He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Barbara Shine (nee: Casper)
Born: January 01, 1936
Died: August 12, 2004
Services: Sunday, August 15, 2004 at 8pm. Burial will be at 10 am Monday at the Clark Road – Protestant Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
Visitation: Saturday August 14, from 7-9 pm and Sunday August 15, 2-4 and 7pm until the time of the service.
Mrs. Shine was an avid pug lover, enjoyed gardening and being involved with her church; Christ Community Church in Chardon. She was also a mentor, role model and strong spiritual guide to her loving son; Robb. Survivors include her husband Richard Shine of Chardon Twp., son Robert Shine of Chardon Twp. and niece Linda Patrizi of Cleveland. Her mother Betty Casper is deceased.
