William E. Lapointe
BURTON - William Emile Lapointe, 62, died Friday, March, 16, 2001, at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cleveland.
Born Nov. 25, 1938, in Manchester, N.H., he was the son of Emile and Katherine (Kuchar) Lapointe. He had lived in Chardon for 20 years before moving in Burton.
He married Linda Hallstrom on April 17, 1995, in Manteo, N.C.
Mr. Lapointe was service officer in the Geauga County Veterans Service Office, Chardon, for 17 years, retiring in 1997. He had previously worked for the railroad in Collinwood for 13 years.
A Korean War veteran, he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
He was a member Veteran of Foreign Wars Chardon Post 6519; the American Legion; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2261, Chardon.
He enjoyed fishing, reading and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Katherine Dwyer of Hampton, N.H., Karoline Lapointe of Atlanta, Ga., and Katie Lapointe of Sandusky; two sons, Matthew of Pfugerville, Texas, and Brady of Chardon; a step-son Matthew Klingbergs of Chardon; and four grandchildren, Andrew Dwyer, Spenser Lapointe, Isabella Lapointe and Matthew Klingbergs Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson, Dustin Klingbergs.
Service is 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ritondaro Funeral Home, 126 South St., Chardon, with the Rev. E. Thomas Boytar, Pastor of the Word of Faith Church, Chardon, officiating.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Helen J. Rose
BURTON TOWNSHIP - Helen Jean Rose, 71, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township.
She was born April 16, 1930, in Painesville, the daughter of Steve and Margaret (Wayner) Prekler. She had been a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Rose was a graduate of Harvey High School in Painesville.
She was married to George Rose for 50 years.
Mrs. Rose was a homemaker and an Avon representative since 1976.
She was a homemaker and an Avon representative since 1976. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a member of Montville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband, George; two sons, Thomas Rose of Burton and David Rose of Chino, Calif., three daughters, Mary Fowler of Middleport, Sharon Goodemote of Hubbard and Leanne Rose of Athens; four grandchildren, Daniel Fowler, Emily Copeland, Kyle Rose and Seth Goodemote; two brothers, Steve Prekler Jr. of Gulfport, Fla., and Joseph Prekler of Columbia, S.C.; and two sisters, Julia Brown of Painesville and Irene Miller of Smithfield, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall, 16471 Route 6 in Montville.

Marzella B. Holler
BURTON - Marzella B. Holler, 70, died of a stroke, Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
She was born June 19, 1930, in Bergoo, W. Va., the daughter of Shando and Ellen (Mick) Bennett. She had been an area resident for 48 years.
Mrs. Holler was married to Edwin Holler.
She was a homemaker and worked at Sajar Plastics in Middlefield for several years.
Mrs. Holler enjoyed cooking and gardening and attended Maple View Church in Burton.
Survivors include a son, Edwin J. Holler Jr. of Burton; two daughters, Louise Bartholomew of Burton and Janice Dunson of Pioneer; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1992; a grandchild; five brothers, Frank, Charles, Clell, Guy and Boyd; and two sisters, Leora Talcott and Dolly Cochran.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield with the Rev. D. Ray Mullet of Burton officiating. Burial will be in Slitor Cemetery in Burton.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Fannie E. Hershberger
BURTON - Fannie E. Hershberger, 67, of Jug Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at her home.
She was born June 7, 1934, in Middlefield, the daughter of Enos C. and Sarah (Miller) Slabaugh and was a lifelong area resident.
She married Crist N. Hershberger on Sept. 30, 1954, in Troy Township.
Mrs. Hershberger was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She was homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Melvin, Robert, Enos, Jonas, and Noah; five daughters, Sarah Kuhns, Irene Miller, Martha Yoder, Clara Yoder, and Linda Miller; 67 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Gust Slabaugh; and two sisters, Malinda Miller and Martha Yoder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons; four grandsons; and a brother.
Service is 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Hershberger residence, with Bishop Roy C. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Hershberger Cemetery, Troy Township.
Visitation is anytime at the residence.
Arthur T. Malcuit
BURTON - Arthur T. Malcuit, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at his home.
Mr. Malcuit was born Jan. 9, 1923, in Cleveland, the son of William H. (Jack) and Florence (Quinn) Malcuit.
A longtime resident of the area, he married Rose M. Trizzino in 1952.
He was a deputy sheriff for the Cuyahoga and Geauga County sheriff's offices, and a police officer for the Burton and Middlefield police departments. He also worked with the Geauga County Coroner's Office and retired from the Geauga County Auditor's Office.
Mr. Malcuit served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asiatic Theater in New Guinea, Bougainville and New Georgia. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star. He also was involved with the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Michele L. Disney of Milan, Ind., and Holly A. Cross of Centerville; four sons, Thomas A. Malcuit of San Diego, Timothy Malcuit of Bristolville, Matthew Malcuit of Burton and Brett Malcuit of Traverse City, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Reva F. Vondrasek.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William H. Malcuit Jr. and Richard F. Malcuit; and a sister, Marylou Kaczur.
Services are 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Russell Golden Rule Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, with the Rev. D. Ray Mullet, pastor and chaplain of Hospice of Care Corp., officiating.
Honoring Mr. Malcuit's wishes, his remains will be cremated.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Callow was a graduate of Willoughby South High School. Over the years, she has been very involved with the reunion committees, just recently enjoying her 40th reunion in August. Mrs. Callow enjoyed all types of crafts – basket weaving, glass etching, jewelry, flower arranging, sewing and cake decorating. When her children were young, she was active in Girl Scouts, Twins Club in Painesville. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Painesville having served as youth group leader and Sunday School teacher for many years. She is survived by her husband John J. Callow, Jr. of Burton, daughters Kelley Callow of Atlanta, GA, Jennifer (Arthur, Jr.) Semlow of Chardon, Linda Callow of Columbus, sister Faye (Bob) Morgan of Munson Twp., Peggy (Pat) Varley of Hilton Head, SC. Visitation: The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
She was a longtime member of St. Gregory of Narek Armenian Church.
Ms. Kouyoumdjian had a great love for children.
She is survived by her sister Susan Kouyoumdjian of Middlefield Village, brother Kerope Kouyoudjian of Paris, France.
Many Nieces and Nephews, and Great-nieces and nephews.
Her parents Kaloust and Yeranouhi (Thaddeus) Kouyoumdjian, brother Jirair and Lebon Kouyoumdjian and sister Marissa Ohanessian are all deceased.
