Richard E. Jerke
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP - Richard E. Jerke, 74, of Montville Township, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Heather Hill, in Munson Township.
He was born Jan. 30, 1929, in Detroit, the son of Gustave and Eva (Schmidt) Jerke.
Mr. Jerke had lived 38 years in Montville Township and prior to that, in Rome Township.
He was a truck driver for R.W. Sidley Inc. in Thompson for 34 years, retiring in 1993.
Mr. Jerke married Minnie V. Skinner on Dec. 14, 1956, in Montville Township.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a private first class during the Korean War.
Mr. Jerke enjoyed mowing his lawn on his tractor, fishing, and working word search puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, of Montville Township; three daughters, Judy Brail of Jefferson, Jean Scribben of Windsor Township, and Joan Jerke of Hartsgrove Township; and eight grandchildren, Bobby, Karen, Kelly, Richard, J.T., Steven, Dawn and Carl.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carl Jerke.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon, with the Rev. Harley Wheeler, pastor of Thompson United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Montville Cemetery, Montville Township.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mabel G. Srp
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP - Mabel G. Srp, 96, of Montville Township died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township.
She was born May 22, 1905 in Montville Township, the daughter of Carl and Ada (Knauf) Webster.
She had lived in Montville Township most of her life, except for 16 years when she lived in Cleveland.
Mrs. Srp was a homemaker and had worked for R. L. Polk Co., when she lived in Cleveland.
She was a graduate of Thompson High School.
She married Joseph Srp in Chardon on Aug. 9, 1928.
Mrs. Srp was a member of the former Montville United Methodist Church and enjoyed working outside in her yard.
Her only survivors were her close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joseph on Jan. 12, 1979.
Services will be graveside at 11 a.m., Friday, with the Rev. Harley Wheeler of the Thompson United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Montville Cemetery, Route 528 (Madison Road) in Montville Township.
No calling hours will be observed.

Earl Wright Jr.
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP - Earl Wright Jr., 82, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at home.
Born Oct. 19, 1919, in Carlinville, Ill., he was the son of Earl and Maybelle (Goldner) Wright.
A World War II Army veteran, he served in the Philippines.
He married Nancy Wagner June 22, 1963, in Bedford.
Mr. Wright was a machinist for Universal Hydraulics, Willoughby, for many years, retiring in March 1981.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. The family camped for several years in Jefferson and fished at Mosquito Lake.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Denise Stevens of Hiram, Lori Smith of East Claridon Township, and Debbie Wright of Montville Township; three sons, Dennis of Brecksville, Donald of Windham and Kerry of Montville Township; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Service is 10 a.m. Monday at Lighthouse Methodist Church, 14780 Mayfield Road, East Claridon, with the Rev. David Rittgers officiating. Burial will be in Montville Cemetery.
Family will receive friends immediately following the service.

William Dombrowski
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP - William "Boeslaws" Dombrowski, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Geauga Regional Hospital in Claridon Township.
He was born Oct. 30, 1919, in Erie, Pa., the son of Alex and Frances Dombrowski.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a part of the Normandy invasion during World War II. Mr. Dombrowski was a wireman for Clark Controller Co. in Cleveland, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Dombrowski was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed woodworking, gardening and tending his flock of geese. He loved to attend auctions, especially the Middlefield Auction on Mondays.
He married Jenny C. Wierzbecki June 30, 1948, at Holy Family Church in Cleveland.
Survivors include his three sons, William P. Dombrowski of Hartsgrove Township, David Dombrowski of Hambden Township, and Gregory Dombrowski of Montville Township; four daughters, Barbara Zorich of Chardon, Cynthia Morris of Hambden Township, Bernice Currence of Bristolville, and Ursula Dombrowski of Hartsgrove Township; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Hunscar of Parma.
He was preceded in death by his wife, on Sept. 22, 1991; his parents; a son, Mark D. Dombrowski; four brothers; and eight sisters.
Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon. The Rev. Greg Shaut of the Church of St. Mary, Chardon, will officiate.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Montville Cemetery, Montville Township.

Joy Moran McGeary
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP - Joy "Joy Bells" Moran McGeary, 33, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Chardon Healthcare Center in Chardon.
She was born Jan. 28, 1969, in Madison Township.
Survivors include her foster mother, Lena McGeary of Montville Township; and foster sister, Peggy Holbert of Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her foster father, Harold McGeary; and foster sister, Patti Holbert.
Graveside service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Montville Township Cemetery.

Anne S. Prosek
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP - Anne Stella Prosek, 80, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at her home.
She was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Cleveland, the daughter of John and Margaret (Scofar) Twarogowski.
She married John Frank Prosek on Sept. 12, 1942, in Cleveland.
Mrs. Prosek was employed at Conley's and Woolworth's, Chardon Bank, and the Geauga County Department of Aging.
She was a member of the Montville Ladies Aide and Garden Club, as well as the Montville Fire Department Auxiliary, Study Club, the Craft Club.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, John of Montville, Richard of Erie, Pa., and Rob of Hillsboro; a daughter, Suzanne Petrovich of Montville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Twarogowski; and two sisters, Ruth Hrouda of Chardon and Alice Twarogowski of Montville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Annette Thompson.
Service is 10 a.m. Monday at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River St., Madison, with the Rev. Paul Smith of St. Patrick's Church, Thompson Township, officiating.
